You don't have to travel all the way to Thailand to enjoy great Thai food. Here in South Florida, you need not go any further than Pembroke Pines to have a delightful Thai food experience at Suppunahong. The restaurant is small, immaculate, and tastefully decorated with many items that the owners have brought back with them from annual trips to Thailand. The staff is professional and very polite. One of the owners takes the orders and interacts with customers. He is super personable, and you can tell that he totally enjoys what he does for a living. His wife is the chef and the food never disappoints--beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients. From appetizers to main courses to desserts, everything is wonderful. I am very partial to the different curry dishes and the pad Thai dishes. You can order the food as mild or as spicy as you like. They also have great early birds that include a main dish and a lovely salad with lettuce, onion, cucumber, tomato and fried wonton triangles. The peanut dressing is to die for. They make it on the premises and I recently learned that they also sell it. If you go there, I recommend the Mee Crob appetizer, any of the curries—red, green, panang, or massaman--with either chicken or scallops for your main course, and if you are inclined to order dessert, try the Thai donuts with a cup of coffee. Do give Suppunahong a try. I'm sure it will become a favorite of yours as it has become for my husband and me.
