If you are looking for a pet friendly beach area in Panama City Beach go near the county pier. I believe it was #57 beach access. It is not a very long area, but it is wide. We were there in the middle of the week and had plenty of room for our dog, ice chest and chairs. Billy's restaurant (Thomas Drive I think) was the best place for food, drinks and service during our stay in Panama City Beach. I would stay away from the fast food places as they had horrible service, although the food was okay.

Came here with my husband 10 years ago and never left.
Pristine beaches and Emerald waters. Make sure to visit Pier Park for browsing in specialty shops and save some time for many wonderful restaurants there also, especially Gugglieamo's. What fantastic food and decor. If you venture downtown, make sure to eat at Chef Immondi's. His food is supurb!!! And a must to spend the day at is St. Andrew's State Recreation Park. Bring your sunscreen, chair, cooler and enjoy the beach, jetties for fishing, and kiddie pool for the little ones to play in the water.

Beach water was thick with alga. Some may try to say it is a seaweed--it's not---it's alga. It stinks and soils the hotel carpets. Shell Island , accessible through State Andrews park is a few miles from the Panama Beach-- the place to swim and snorkel. Crystal clear water. Scooters are best rented from scootaroundpcb.com. $60 for 24 hours, verses $40 for 4 hours by other nearby vendors. Dicks Crab shack was different and an excellent tasting restaurant.

On our trip to Panama City Beach we wanted to rent jet skis. There are many places to do this. Many are right on the beach. After searching around some it was obvious that prices vary, equipment varies, and it is all a risk. I settled on AAA Jet Ski Rentals which is in the bay next to the bridge. I would strongly recommend this place to everyone. Scott and Becky are honest, organized, and care about the customer and their equipment. We did the 2 hr dolphin tour. Saw about 18 dolphins, Swam with them, Basically close enough to touch. We watched them catch and eat fish. Scott did a super job of putting us right in the pod, and even herding the pod right over me in the water. And then the even better part where he took our picture, asked us to be careful with the skis and pointed us in the direction of fun. He left us with about 1.5 hours on some of the best beaches and shell hunting in the area. This is a little place but I don't think you can go wrong here. It is lower cost and higher value.

It has been 15-20 years since I last visited PCB and must say I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived (May 23, 09). It was not crowded at all and my husband and I were there for Memorial Day weekend. The beach was clean except for a minimal amount of seaweed. We had great seafood at The Boar's Head Restaurant. We took a sunset dolphin cruise on the Island Time catamaran - that was GREAT. Best thing we did while there. We drove over to Destin for an afternoon of Outlet shopping at Silver Sands. That too was great but Destin was just way too crowded for my tastes. We actually talked about going to Destin instead of PCB but I am very glad we decided against that. The only drawback was the condo we choose - Sunbird Condos - don't waste your money - that place was dirty!!!! We will definately come back to PCB but will stay somewhere besides Sunbird and will rent from someone other than Joni's Beach Rentals. Overall, best beach vacation I've had in a long time. Great food and great time at the beach.
