“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We stayed here for 2 weeks in October and enjoyed our stay. We got the room we ask for. Everyone here were very nice and helpful. We will come back next year. The chairs in the breakfast are very bad. Heavy and big hooks ond the backs that catch everything close to them. They will last forever so won't expect any changes..

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side are quieter

We stayed in this hotel just for one night before proceeding to New Orleans. Hotel is in a very good location, walking distance to most restaurants, shopping, attractions. Check in was swift, friendly staff. Beach is few steps away, exactly as pictured. Wooden lounge chair (love it) is free. Clean, beautiful beach ! Watched the sunset, picture perfect ! The building is not new but not too old either. The room we stayed is clean and functional having a kitchen with cooking/baking utensils. It has a living room with sofa bed and chairs and flat screen tv, overlooking the beach. Also in the bedroom has flat screen tv, so convenient. WiFi NOT free. Breakfast is basic: muffins, bagel, coffee, juice, in a little corner in the lobby, gets crowded. I can stay here for a week or so, I like this place. Overall, we had a very good stay at this hotel. Panama City Beach is very beautiful, a must see place in Florida !

First off, let me say if you are looking for a high rise condo and all of its ammenities, you need to keep looking. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel room with friendly service this is your place. The room has a seperate bedroom and living room and a small kitchen with all you need. All rooms have a nice beachfront balcony. There are 2 TV's (which is really good for my family of 5) and you have a door to shut off the bedroom if you like. The hotel is aged, but for the price you are not going to better. Room, pool, hottub, ground all very clean. Service was great! Two complaints...I like to take early morning runs on the beach and pool area locked early am. Have to walk all around builing to access beach, then had to walk around drainage. Would be nice if they had another way to access beach other than pool. Had to get key reset a few times, no one told me till we checked out and I said something again that my cell phone was doing it. I did keep it right by my phone while we were at beach and out. There are knicks and bumps in the room, but we really do not mind. Like I said, for the price it is good and comfortable. We have been staying with By The Sea for years now and we will continue to stay with this company. We usually stay at The Legacy, but decided to save a little more and try Beachcomber again.

Room Tip: Bring an air mattress is you are going to use sofa bed. Really not a comfortable sofa bed. The couc...

Just returned from another great stay at Beachcomber. This hotel is in a great location and is a great size. There's room to park and you don't have to wait long for the elevator. Staff are very helpful and friendly; pool, hot tub and grounds are kept clean. You can't beat the value at Beachcomber - you get a bedroom, bath, kitchen and living room with sleeper sofa for the same price others charge for just a hotel room with 2 beds. The sofa in our room was a little ratty; but a throw brought from home covered it just fine. Will stay here again.

Just returned from our 5th stay at the Beachcomber and had another great stay. We took advantage of the 4th night free offer, stayed 10 nights and enjoyed every minute. We got in around 1 in the afternoon and while we were registering with Ric who was great our room became available so we got checked in and was on the beach by one thirty. I had requested room 509 which we had stayed in before, it is one of the few rooms with just a king bed and microwave and mini fridge instead of a full kitchen which suits us fine since there are only two of us. The room was very clean, no bad smells, bed very comfortable, very nice bathroom and beautiful view. The pool and hot tub were cleaned every day. Housekeeping were very friendly and efficient, we usually only needed towels and trash taken out. as far as the breakfast, it's a continental breakfast folks, what part about that don't you whiners understand? Two types of muffins, bagels, yogurt, juice, coffee is pretty much standard for continental breakfasts. There are some people who will never be satisfied no matter what and I believe that some people exaggerate things hoping to get some sort of compensation. Our toilet backed up the second day and they were there in five minutes had it plunged and cleaned up in fifteen minutes and we never had another problem. The tvs are small and not hd, so what, did you come to Florida to watch tv or enjoy the beach and attractions? As some people have noted before, there is Winn-Dixie and CVS half a dozen or more eating places within walking distance, Buddys' seafood market and a waffle house a half mile away. Pier Park is half a mile away also, so if you want stay away from the busy east end this is the perfect location. We will definitly be back and are looking forward to the next time.

Room Tip: Some rooms on the lower 2 or 3 floors may have partialy blocked views by trees

First the positives. It's on the beach. That's about it. Terrible beds, terrible bathrooms, terrible TV's with mangled screens, A/C units that are subpar, worst continental breakfast in hotel history and the list goes on an on. Not worth more than $35 a night for a "suite". The beds they claim are "queens" are full size at best. False advertising on everything about this room. Oh, and paper thin walls, so don't plan on getting more than a couple of hours of sleep per night. They also charge a hefty fee for wifi and the connection blows. Showers for oompa loompa people (I am only 5'7" and I have to bend down to wash my hair). If they offered me a free room to come back I would rather pay to stay somewhere else. I could add more but I think you guys get the point. Thumbs way down to this place.

Room Tip: My tip is to try Legacy By the Sea about a mile or two down the road. Similar price but by FAR super...

Every room has an ocean view because of the sling-shot floorplan of the room. Entry from street side, to bed area with TV, bath and kitchen space next, sitting/TV area with large window to balcony on backside. Anything above 4th floor gets a great view with no palm trees in the way. Not a luxury hotel at all, but very clean, comfortable and friendly staff for a great price. Elevator access was helpful, too. Beach and pool are wonderful, even with Hurrican Issac on the water. Staff was prepared and attentive for guest safety. Breakfast was simple packaged muffins and juice, yogurt and coffee. Convenient to shopping, restaurants and airport. Great for family to bring in supplies with microwave, stove and refrigerator. Simple, clean, affordable - We loved it!

Room Tip: Fourth floor and up gets the best ocean views, sans palm trees.
