I lived in the Coconut Grove for 2 months this summer. It was a bless'ed experience. The air conditioners are amazing! The beds are fairly comfortable. The water pressure was magnificent, and the water was never cold! The rooms need a little cleaning. The pool is nice and cool, and I especially enjoyed the fact that there was a coin laundry right next door. The owners are great!

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Coconut Grove Motor Inn May of this year. We went the week before memorial day so most of the other motels were full. This hotel is not on the beach, which we were okay with. The outside of the hotel has spray paint all over the walls, there were people partying until 4 AM at thed pool, our door didn't close very well, and I saw bugs crawling on the walls in the middle of the night. If you are a spring breaker going to party, then you would probably have a great time here, but anyone else would probably not like it.

The interior photos posted of this hotel do not look anything like the hotel. My wife and I stayed there this past weekend during the Thunder Beach Rally.

This is a description of the room we stayed in. The hotel room has filthy puckered and wrinkled carpet. It was dark and had antiquated AC units that do not cool well. A hole in the wall. The bed spreads were dirty, stained and looked like they had not been cleaned any time recently. The bathroom was old and dirty. The shower was quite powerful but the tub did not initially drain. They did fix that for us as well as providing us a knob for the AC unit and hangers after we requested them.

The room did not have an iron, a hairdryer or a clock. There were no bed side lamps only an floor lamp with a 40 watt bulb. The chairs arms came off when lifted and the doors were delaminating. The ceiling in the bathroom was old, filthy and the plaster was falling down. The ceiling in the room was also stained.

While we were there we were not given room service one of the two days and it appeared that the carpet was not vacuumed the day the room was serviced. The towels were washed but some of them were stained permanently. The furniture had dirt and debris in the drawers and the metal closet rods were rusted.

If you have any questions or want further details I can provide them to you but this hotel was not worth the $65 a night we were quoted and paid or the $85 they tried to mis-charge us. I know because I travel and sleep in hotels about 100 nights per year.
