Bad struff: I travel allot this time we ended up staying at Fountainblue Terrace Panama city. I cant remember a place this bad at any price possibly the Tijauna hotel. Old refurbished building. Bed smelled, not clean, have to take towels to the office for exchange good luck if they are busy or closed, leaky faucet, keep the suitcase closed Coucarachys and black water bugs. I would hate think of summer heat and humidity by gulf the room would wreak. In summary if your going to rough it an old place like this with dirty rooms stained sheets and hassels with manager who doesnt care, might as well just camp on the beach.

Good stuff: Excellent world class beach, located close to everything. Relief to leave.

My husband and I just returned from Fontainebleau and were really surprised at how old and unkept this place was. Old is fine, but not taken care of is another. We stayed one night in room 317. Oh my how dirty is was! I took my shower with my sandals on for fear of catching something! The rest of the week we moved over to room 318. It was nice and homey and not dirty at all, but you take a chance on what your room will look like and smell like. Room 317 smelled like an old nursing home that hadn't been cleaned and had dirt, etc on the walls and floors. We never used the pool as it was enclosed with no walk out to the beach so you get no sun if you use the pool. However, the beach is VERY close to the water which was nice. It is the closest to the beach out of all the hotels at Panama City Beach. You have to return your towels between 10:00 and 2:00 each day if you want clean ones which was a hassle. The staff is not on duty between the hours of 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM. If there would be an emergency you would be out of luck. Also when we checked out at 7:00 in the morning there was no place to leave the room key so I left it out in the open and hoped no one else would find it and trash the room. I would have hated to get billed for that! Then I had to call them at 8:00 AM to let them know where I put the key! I've never heard of a place not having the office open 24/7. The staff was very unfriendly and VERY rude and the hotel manager is English-speaking deficient. She can't speak or understand English very well. We had a problem with communicating on several occasions. This place could be a fasinating place to stay if someone would take an interest in it and do some updating. It's really a shame. All in all we had a great vacation but with no help from Fontainebleau Terrace. I would certainly visit Panama City Beach again in a heart beat...just not Fontainebleau Terrace.

I went with my sister and niece and daughter this past week and it was nice. I love the pool for smaller kids to avoid sunburn and I love the 2nd floor area to sit and just look over the ocean. They had karaoke on Saturday and mostly owners were singing, but they were welcoming to guests. The owners manage the place which I thought was odd. They were totally accomodating and fixed anything we needed within 15 minutes. If you go there and find a problem in your room, you have to tell the desk so they can correct it. The lady at the front desk did say that some of the rooms were taken off the rental program because they were not suitable for rent and the owners did not come to check their rooms. If you want a laid back atomosphere and do not mind exchanging out your dirty towels at the front desk and deling with a little imperfection, then this is a place for you. I also loved it because you could get under the building and still be on the beach so you had shade. My daughter played for hours on the beach under the building and I was in the sun right on the beach and I did not have to worry about her getting burned. So all of you who complained, sorry you had a bad time.

We were scheduled to stay at this resort with about a group of 40, which were all part of a girls fastpitch travel team (12-13 yrs of age). When most of the group arrived on monday late night, they were very disappointed in the view and rooms after taking a look at a "few". Considering after the hurricane, some of it was in "shambles" and the pool couldn't even be considered, not to mention there were no other rooms available to accomadate a large group in such short notice. Therefore, trying to get 13-14 rooms for all of us to stay together was not going to happen and didn't. We had to seperate our group/team and make do with what was presented at the time. The front desk did let most of the group who had no choice to stay, pick their rooms, considering some they had placed us in- were very "unacceptable"...I understand this place is old, but to say the rooms have been remodeled, that would be an understatement. If you like mold in your shower and on your ceiling panels while you look up, then I guess this place would work for you. Having to take your dirty towels down and get new ones every time is kind of strange as well... I think if you are going to manage a place of business-like a resort and for tourist all over, wouldn't you think someone would stay in the office at all hours, just in case something goes wrong! HELLO!
Note: When some of our party chose somewhere else to stay, the front desk did give them their $$ back, but told our GROUP we weren't welcomed back to stay at their resort, considering some canceled their reservation and moved.... Is that the price you pay for not wanting to stay in moldy rooms....
Oh - Karoke- what a joke! I understand it starts early on saturday 7:30pm.... but to quit at 11:30pm on a saturday night when you have plenty of people still in the lounge- NO Last call at this place, Curtain gets pulled and GOOD NIGHT! This place is probably good for the locals and senior citizens....not for a group/team of young people or the young at heart.
One good note: after the pool was slammed by Hurricane Dennis, they finally were able to make the pool perfectly clear and great for the kids to swim in..... YAHOO!
I don't know what room they took a picture of to post on the "net", but all I can say is Wow! Not ALL the rooms look like that. Some rooms are clean and some - well!
I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Watch out for the rate inflation upon arrival....... some other guests experienced that problem as well......
