Our recent trip to Panama City was very nice, and thanks to the fantastic staff of The Osprey/Driftwood Lodge, it was quite comfortable. We had originally booked our stay at Driftwood Lodge, but upon arriving and finding out that there were no elevators at the Driftwood, (one of our party has back problems), and finding the lack of private balconies, or privacy in general, we requested to change to their property next door, The Osprey. The front desk young lady an gentleman were both extremely friendly and worked with us to find a suitable room, and even helped us to move our luggage over! We ended up choosing one of the "end rooms" that had a seperate bedroom, plus a large murphy bed in the living room. The balcony was also very large. The only complaints we really have was that the screen on the sliding glass door was broken, and also the air conditioning in the bedroom had been leaking, and as a result, the carpet in the bedroom had a VERY BAD odor. As soon as we reported it,though, they sent up two very nice people from housekeeping to clean the carpet. The smell still lingered, but we just bought some Febreeze and an air freshners and tried to ignore it. The planned activities that theydo during the week, (movie night, cook out, etc.), are also a nice touch. The Osprey is also within easy walking distance of Pier Park , a very nice bonus!
