“Excellent value but could use some remodeling. Great location.”

We stayed at the Sunset in an economy suite that had a queen & sofa bed in the living space with a separate bedroom and full kitchen. Anthony's beach service was very helpful. If you have mold allergies might want to look at the room first.

Get away from the high rise hotels and try this affordable gem on the beach. There are kitchenettes in every room making this even more of a value. The staff is very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I left the kids and headed out on a 3 night getaway. Because it was just the two of us, I was looking for something more low key and laid back. I am so glad I stumbled upon the Sunset Inn. I cannot say enough about the cleanliness, the location, the service.... everything was perfect! From check in to check out, the whole experience was simply outstanding. We stayed across the street, which is really just a side road with virtually no traffic. We could be on the beach quicker than we could get on an elevator if staying in a high rise. As an added feature, there were numerous portable grills (the kind with 2 wheels) that guests were free to use. If you're looking for a nice room that's beautifully decorated and a place that had tons of amenities, then this probably isn't the place for you. (The furniture is a bit outdated here) But if you're more interested in the beach, and just want cleanliness, GREAT value, and friendly, personal service.... then this is it!! We will definitely be staying here again, and next time we'll be bringing our kids. This seemed to be a nice place for families, as its not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, but yet plenty close enough. And as a side note, it is within walking distance of The Hognose Snapper, a delicious place to eat, where everything (including the fries) is made fresh.

Avoid the Madness that is the PCB strip (Front Beach Rd) and stay in this quiet, less-congested, east end of beach, family-owned and operated motel. It doesn't have the flash and all of the amenities you might find at some higher-priced establishments, but it does have comfortable/clean rooms, good space (including kitchenette), less crowded section of beach and a staff that truly cares about your stay.

Easy block-and-a-half walk to a breakfast buffet (Capt Jack's) and dinner, a couple of other restaurants and convenience stores nearby, about 5 minute drive to Capt Anderson's and about 10 minutes or less (via PCB Pkwy) to Shipwreck Island waterpark and Pier Park (outdoor mall, restaurants, movie theatre and amusement park).

Rooms to fit most family sizes.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 241 in the newer building on the property. No complaints.

We visited this place a few weeks ago. This is the first time that we have stayed in Panama City in more than 15 years. We arrived late in the evening and called ahead and the staff was nice enough to accommodate our late arrival. When first walking up to the place, I was a bit skeptical because of its outside appearance. Our room faced the pool and it had 2 queen sized beds, a full
Sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, and wifi access. The room was clean and the maid staff cleaned the room daily and we didn’t have to ask them to like some of the previous reviewers. The hotel is right on the beach and just a few steps to the water. It is also in a more quiet area on the beach than some of the other places to stay and liked the fact that it was easy to get to without having to wait in traffic. The hotel has 2 pools. One pool is approximately 8 feet deep and the other pool is approximately 5 feet deep. We enjoyed the shallow pool because there weren’t as many people swimming in it.

There were only a few negative things that we found. One was the guest laundry. On the website it states “On premises Laundromat”. This to us meant that there was a place that we could come and go to wash and dry our clothes like a coin laundry. However, this was not the case. After searching the hotel looking for the laundromat and not finding it we asked the front desk and they told us that you have to obtain a key from the office in order to use the laundromat. Every time that we would contact the desk the key was checked out or they couldn’t reach the person who had the key because they weren’t in their room. This is very inconvenient and time consuming. We ended up having to leave to do laundry at a laundromat several miles down the road. Another negative aspect is the noise level next to the pool. It can be quite loud sometimes with all of the people in and around the pool. There was also paint/part of the ceiling missing in the bathroom and our toilet constantly ran all of the time.

Overall, the place is a good place to stay for the price and we would stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying here. The owners really try hard to keep the place tidy. My only negative is housekeeping. Very nice people but they do not clean your room daily unless you ask them to. They just give you clean towels each day. I suspect management is unaware of this. One of the housekeepers told me that we straighten up each day but this only happened if we asked for it. We will definitely stay here again though.

We wasn't sure about this place when we seen it on line. But when we pulled in it was great it was clean people were friendly. Was a great place for kids. I think we found our new vacation spot. We will be back next year.
