If you are looking for a very nice place to stay and do not care if it is on the beach or not, then I highly recommend this hotel. It is very close to the Marinas and fishing boats, but is also quiet. Has an outstanding breakfast and is comparable to the other hotels or cheaper when I checked rates before my stay last week. I'll definitely stay here again.

We spent one night here after a party nearby. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. Price was reasonable considering how expensive all the other hotels in the area were. The bed was very comfortable and we slept great. Breakfast included French toast sticks, biscuits, sausage, cereals, yogurt, fruit, pastries, and breads. The cinnamon roll was excellent. Drinks included robust and mild coffee, several juices, and milk.

Our room had a large jacuzzi tub, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. It also had high speed internet.

This little hotel is everything the previous post described and more. They have a large outdoor pool with plenty of tables, chairs and loungers available. The pool hours are generous from 8am to 11pm, pool towels are provided. They also have a small exercise room, no weight equipment, but several pieces of aerobic equipment with a television. They serve warm cookies most evenings and free coffee, tea and apples available throughout the day. Their continental breakfast is from 6am to 10am with the standard breakfast items such as cereal and juices, but also includes a fresh selection everyday of pastry items, bagels, english muffins, toast, yogurt, cut up fruit, and a hot item daily such as sausage, eggs, waffles, french toast, eggs etc. The breakfast room is spacious and appears to accomdate all their guests without difficulty as they were quite busy while we were there. Our standard two bedroom queen room had the wonderful Hilton serenity beds, with the cotton sheets, down comfortors and 5 pillows. They are truly the most comfortable beds I've slept on in a hotel of this size, not to mention at this property they are a gorgeous white comforter - I don't know how they keep them clean, but they were beautiful. Free wireless internet is provided in the rooms and in the lobby. Each room has a blow dryer, coffee maker, microwave and medium size refrigerator. The TV contained a good selection of cable channels. There are gas stations and grocery stores nearby, as well as many restuaruants, a marina and St. Andrews State Park with a fantastic beach and pavilions. I certainly recommend this as a great family place to stay! All the staff members were very helpful, the maids made up our rooms very nicely each day, and everything was always very clean.

We stayed a few weeks ago at the Hampton Inn Bay Point, and I was bowled over. I am used to staying at 4-star hotels in most cities, but the Marriott was booked (only smoking rooms showing on the website) and we were on a somewhat tighter budget than usual. This was my first visit to Panama City; my traveling companions had lived there in the 70's as teenagers and wanted to see it again.

Upon entering, I was impressed. The lobby appointments were more like a full-service hotel than a motel. There was even a complimentary computer/internet terminal with a nice sitting area. When we went to check into the hotel, we were very warmly greeted by the customer service manager. When we first walked up, she was on the phone with a guest who was trying to find their way to the hotel and were lost. She was incredibly patient with them, and she never lost her smile. Once she got to us, she apologized (we told her that we were impressed!) for making us wait. She discovered, just as the hotel's manager came out from the back, that we had been upgraded from a Q/Q room to a King suite! I was bowled completely over.

The room itself was great. It had a nice kitchen area and a jacuzzi tub in the bath. TV in the living area and in the bedroom. Everything was pristine and very nice. The room was in an upper corner at the end of the hall (the hotel is all interior corridor), so there was not even any noise. The manager called to make sure that we had everything we needed about a half hour after we got into the room.

In the morning, when we went down to the breakfast, it was far and away beyond anything I would normally expect for a free continental breakfast. The pastries were all fresh (cinammon rolls to die for!), there were fresh pink grapefruit sections and apples and bananas, lots of cereals, and even a hot item...biscuits and gravy (a personal favorite).

All in all, I would have to say that I would put my treatment at this little Hampton Inn up there with service I have received at a couple of Ritz Carltons. WAY beyond anything I would have expected. I would go back to Panama City just to stay here.
