We go to Panama City Beach every year for a long weekend. We live In GA., so the drive isn't bad. And we go during Oct., when the tourist have pretty much left PCB. This past year we decided to do dolphin site seeing or swimming with the dolphins. This experience was so totally cool! First we went to a place where we could snorkel and pick up items from the bottom of the sandy sea floor. With respect to 'mother nature' we brought them back to the boat where people viewed them and all creatures captured etc where then release back into the water. We then went out into the bay where we saw a mother dolphin and her calf. We were able to get into the water and 'swim' with her and her baby. There was no baiting by the crew (I guess a practice formally used to train dolphins to come up to the boat and swimmers-for commericalization purposes). We had a rather large group on the boat. The crew was very helpful, accommodating and patient with everyone and helping with their gear (snorkels and masks etc). They were also very happy to educate and talk to everyone about the wildlife and revert for the environment. Our family (Mom, Dad, and two boys ages 9 & 12) will definitely do this again next year when we take our trip to PCB.
