Description: Capt. Anderson's restaurant is one of those rare "family" restaurants that not only survives, but strengthens and improves through the years. The landmark waterfront restaurant is celebrating its 46th anniversary in 2013, and every year has witnessed remarkable growth without loss of quality. The restaurant has grown to 725 seats and, six nights a week, serves over 250,000 guests during its 8 month season. Founders, Jimmy and Johnny Patronis set high standards of hard work and consistency for the younger Patronis generations, and they still pull their shifts at the busy restaurant, stopping by to welcome old friends and loyal customers... occasionally bussing a table or taking a special order. Their passion for the business is undoubtedly the root of Capt. Anderson's success.Named among America's Top 50 restaurants, recipient of the "Best Seafood Restaurant" award from Southern Living and Wine Spectator's "Award of Excellence," Capt. Anderson's won Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Award for 15 years before being inducted into the Restaurant Hall of Fame in 2005. The Hall of Fame is the highest honor Florida Trend can bestow upon a Florida restaurant.Year 'round, the Patronis family works with fishermen, oystermen and others who make their living harvesting the Gulf and Bay waters, to preserve the natural oyster beds of Apalachicola Bay... to build artificial reefs... and protect the fragile coastal ecology. Preserving and replenishing the rich natural bounty of the Gulf Coast is part of the Capt. Anderson’s legacy, one of the most important reasons this landmark restaurant is known for serving more fresh local seafood than any other restaurant in Florida.

“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

We went with a very large group so we did have to wait well over an hour on a weeknight. If you love scallops, make sure you ask what they have that day. I sampled lots of others' dishes, too. Flounder is great, steaks were great, salads were great.

“Don't go- Save your money!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I was so disappointed with our meal. I have always wanted to eat at Capt. Anderson's. This year, we took the plunge and decided to give it a try. We spent over $100 on our meal and it was horrible. The food was greasy and tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. I could've eaten at Mc Donalds and left more satisfied with my dinner. We will never be back!!

“Not Mind Blowing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Very trumped up in local catalogs as being the best seafood. I would say its average at best. Lots of fried selections, not a lot of creativity on the menu at all whatsoever. The atmosphere also reminds me of Shoney's with an "at-the-sea" twist. Very old. We sat next to the window and all you can see is charter fishing boats, no real ocean views here.

“Good food, but way overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Very good food, but waay overpriced. The same food is available at other local places for 1/2 the cost. Thres of us had amberjack, scamp, and grouper with crab on top. The food was very good, but we'd had similar very good meals in town at a much more reasonable price.

“Best Cheesecake Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

This place has always been "The Restaurant" to eat at while in PCB. It did not disappoint we have the snapper and grouper and my husband loved how they are not stingy with the salad dressing. Most important to my husband was the cheesecake. He is quite picky and he said its the best he has ever had in his life. The waitress was very nice, our service was awesome, food was awesome, the view of the marina was beautiful and the waitress told us all of their desserts are homemade! Great place you must go to while there.
