“Great View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2011

We rented a 2 bedroom condo with bunk beds for a family of 5, the condo was very clean and had plenty of room and the view was beautiful. The parking deck was difficult to get around, and the pool was closed for 2 days which was disappointing since we had children and the beach had double red flags. Wish we would have known about the pool being closed ahead of time. But other than those two problems its a great place to stay!

Any critique I would have would sound nit-picky. Rented a 2 bedroom with bunk beds - gulf front room. Slept 3 adults and 3 children comfortably. The bunkbeds were very large - either full size or queens (can't remember). Our kids slept well. The furnishings were up to date and the TVs were nice flat screens.

The resort was large enough without being too large. I was able to holler down from the 10th floor to my wife/kids pool side when it was time for dinner - or time to go somewhere. All in all I couldn't ask for more.

We stayed in unit 406 (tower 1) managed by Emerald Coast property management. The complex is centrally located, just a block or so from Edgewater. The unit was very clean upon our arrival. Beautiful view of the beach & pool. Kitchen was well-stocked and sufficient towels were left for our stay. Great balcony with patio furniture. The complex was very nice... fast elevators, beautiful pool, big beach area with chair/umbrella rentals, BBQ grills, etc. Plus we went over Labor Day weekend, and received a great last minute discount, making the unit a great value.
Now for the downsides. The main living areas and bathrooms were sized nicely but the bedrooms were somewhat small. Our rooms had king/queen beds and there was little room to walk around the bed which could get a big annoying if you plan to spend much time in your room (which we didn't). The beds were a bit too firm for us and our family. But the biggest issue, was that the parking at the complex's main parking deck is awful. The deck is designed in such a way that you have to actually back out of each level in order to go up or down to the next. And spaces were almost impossible to find over the weekend. Navigating the deck was actually pretty hazardous, as you would have one car backing out toward another moving forward. Not exaggerating at all here. However, there is a second parking deck just beside the main one that is only 2 or 3 levels and was almost empty. We opted to park there for the rest of our stay and just walk an extra 50 feet across the street.
Overall the place is very nice and a great value. Definitely park in the alternative parking deck though if you go.

The penthouse has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 bathrooms are ensuite) Their are three balcony's with great views. I would highly recommended renting this property for a large family. The service desk was top notch and very effiicient! We also had parking located on the ground floor with easy access to elevators. The condo has everything you will need for a great stay.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

We stayed at the Grand Panama Beach Resort starting July 11, 2010 for 5 nights in a two bedroom 2 bathroom condo in Tower 1. The place was very clean all over the property. It was really quiet and not a rowdy place at all. We were always able to get a chair by the pool even if it was 12 noon before we went down. Amazing for this time of year. There was a good crowd but people were just not having to fight over a pool chair. The beach area is the closest to the condo that we have ever stayed at. Make sure you book Tower 1 if you want on the ocean side otherwise you will use a skywalk to cross the street. We never had issues with the elevators. They were always available. We had 4 adults and 3 children. Although at first I thought the living area was going to be a little small, it turned out that all was great. I liked the layout of one bedroom on the front and one on the back with the bunks in the middle. We were able to awake in the mornings without waking the boys up on the bunks. Just an awesome place and easy access from Middle beach Road. The pool was a good size and so it never seemed to crowded. The parking deck was the typical tight ones that you most always encounter at these type resorts. Only downside-no wifi or internet in the rooms. Had to walk across to lobby.

We spent July 5-9, 2010 at the Grand Panama Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, Florida. We had a great time and fell in love with the 3 bedroom/3 bath gulf front penthouse. We had breakfast overlooking the water every morning and were really happy to see how beautiful it was. We'd definitely stay again!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2010

We stayed in Tower 2 (Grand Vista) for 5 days at the end of June. Condo was comfortable, roomy, and relatively clean. View, even from non-gulf front, was enjoyable. Corner gulfview condos had really wonderful views. I would pay a little more and stay gulf-front only because gulfview condos are actually "street front" and even on the 7th floor loud traffic and motorcycles late at night posed a challenge in getting to sleep. Parking garage and its spaces are very, very tight and tricky to get in and out of. Beach and Pool area on gulf front side are nice. (Did not use pool on Tower 2) Reservation department was flexible when I needed to change my check-in and checkout dates. Biggest downsides: First, this is NOT a hotel... or a resort. There is no "front desk" to answer questions about the area or any issues with the condo. There is a general number to call which is primarily reservations but will handle some "front desk needs" during working hours. No customer service. Housekeeping services were additional if desired during stay. Secondly, the condos vary greatly in their individual amenities. Mine had a barely stocked kitchen (I also bought pans as previously mentioned), no pull out sofa, no local phone, and no resort or local info anywhere in condo. Although the condo I booked was supposed to sleep 8, there were no bedding/beds, towels, or place settings for 8 people, but it was roomy enough for 8 people if properly equipped.
