Given the back bay tailer park location, we went to Boon Docks expecting authentic back woods ambiance and fair. What we got was super shiny eat-off-of clean floors and lighting kin the an operating room. No gritty raw bar here. We were disappointed with the white bread selection- We are always suspect of a supposed seafood restaurant with tilapia on the menu. We ordered grilled Grouper, both the sandwich and the dinner, and grilled shrimp. These were recommended by the server and they were surprisingly good. Both came with grilled onions and were well seasoned but not super spicy. Service was good/average. Food was above average but the sterile, Cracker Barrel environment was not what we were looking for.

We love to go there but the last couple of times the service has'nt been good at all but the grilled shrimp is awesome! Please do something about your wait staff.

I can't believe no one has reviewed this place. It is a little off the beach...about 5 min. north on 79 from intersection of chamber of commerce and 98.
The food is simply the best...locals eat here! Melt in your mouth bay scallops--the tiny ones, not big sea scallops. Specializes in local seafood but my son says the steak is always superb. Even the veg. sides are homemade tasting and very good. Awesome hush puppies, fried pickles, sweet tea. A family atmosphere where you sit with big windows facing West Bay with great views.

well, in spite of all the positive reviews on this site i would have to say that this restaurant fell very short of our expectations. the waitress was rushed and rude. my son and i both really like fried clams but when we ordered them she told us they were just like "howard johnsons clams" whatever that means. we ordered them anyway and now we guess howard johnsons clams must be terrible!!! my husband got the grouper po boy sandwich which he said was ok, but the food was all poorly presented and very expensive...total bill with only waters to drink was $54.00. the place was packed though so i guess people really do flock there. i just did not see the attraction.
