My family and I have been dining at Boon Docks for the last 3 summers and have enjoyed it very much. The food, friendly service and atmosphere have always been top notch until now. We arrived at 4:45 PM and was told it would be a 45 minute wait, we were seated at 6:00 PM. I believe it would have been longer if I didn't keep hasseling the hostess by asking her when we would be seated. I told her if she didn't have a table for us just let me know and we would turn in our little buzzer and would leave and she told me "we have your table now". WOW.. At this point we were glad to sit down order our food and eat. The waitress came over took our order served us drinks and we are on our way to some great seafood, I thought. After forty minutes of waiting and a 7 month old child having a meltdown at the table I ask the waitress where is our order. She told me that she thought it was taking a bit longer and would send a manager over. The manager came over and told us that she was sorry for the wait and she would get our food out ASAP. I have owned restaurants in that past. If by twenty minutes an order is not out someone needs to be notified about the situation and an all out blitz needs to be in motion to make sure this customer is satisfied. We were offered some free $2.00 pie. I'm a diabetic, you have to be kidding me. I'm spending $200 in your business and all you can offer is a $2.00 piece of pie. Boon docks use to have that family owned and operated feel to it now it feels like any commercial chain establishment Red Lobster, O'Charley's etc. where the bottom line is the most important thing not customer satisfaction.
