I had a group function for 4 days at the Innisbrook Golf Resort and I must say I was very pleased. Previous reviews I read said the place was old and outdated, but I disagree. YES, the exterior of the buildings looks like a throwback to a 70's condo, but I got inside my room and it was, dare I say, right up there with some of the nicer hotels I have stayed at before. I had a jr suite, which when I booked it was only 10.00 more than a standard "hotel room" style room, and it was spacious and clean, the furniture was not the typical hotel furniture but very nice, clean, and not broken down. Had a nice kitchenette, several closets, a dining table for 4, and one of the most comfortable beds and linens I have ever slept on. The bathroom was small, but who cares.
I was on the ground floor which was good as most of these older buildings DO NOT have elevators, so lugging your luggage up the stairs could be a pain. One entire wall was windows with sheers so I could see out onto the nice large patio I had that looked right onto the lake. Complimentary high speed internet was available, but I could never get mine to work. Luckily I had my own wireless card. Only thing outdated about the room was the t.v.s A nice flat screen would have been the cherry on top.

The grounds are very well maintained, and the golf course, the tennis courts, the meeting and club houses, the restaurants and pools all nice and clean and inviting. I will say check their schedule as this place really does a lot of grop events, and many of the ammenities are closed for half days for special dinners and catered affairs at the pools, so they may not be available during your stay. Check ahead of time to be sure your not blocked out.

You don't need a car if you stay here.. they have continuous shuttles around the property who will pick you up and take you to the on site pools, restaurants, or where ever you want to go on site. They also shuttle to and from the Tampa airport, but I heard that was a little pricey.

The Staff was friendly from the security gate guard to the desk clerks and the bellhop who helped with my luggage. Check in and check out was a breeze.

I would most definitely stay here again.

I really thought that the grounds were well maintained. The nature walk was nice. The pool is awesome. My room was really outdated. I was at the Aberdeen. I saw a couple of the other folks rooms and they looked good but mine was really creepy. As I was walking down the halls it made me think of the Shining...red rum...red rum. HA! The rooms are not bad but the halls really made you feel uneasy. Dark lighting at night.

Workout room needs to be updated too. The towels smelled horrible. I would suggest that they use detergent. HA!

Restaurants were excellent and the staff was eager to please. I hosted a party for 40 folks at Bamboo and the Manager Shaun did a terriffic job! He was willing to accomodate and make things happen.

Over all I would go back but I would suggest getting a room close to the pool because those were updated. Ask for one with a kitchen. It is worth it.

Our stay at Innisbrook was very enjoyable. My son (15), husband, and I had a very clean, comfortable room with good quality pull out couch for my son. The king mattress on my bed was extremely comfortable. The resort itself is very clean and well organized.

I would suggest a trip to Tarpon Springs to visit the Greek area. The area is full of Greek immigrants and their descendants and the restaurants and bakeries serve scrumptious food. It is a very lively place and lots of fun at night.

The golf course at the resort was great and my husband was happy to pay a reduced greens fee late in the afternoon during our stay. The pool was clean and fun with a water slide. The employees were very pleasant and our room was perfectly cleaned every day. Also the laundry room was right in our building and using the machines was free.

If you want to see wildlife, visit some of the free state parks in the area. Absolutely beautiful with plenty of locals walking the trails. We saw a small baby alligator in the water and lots of birds.

We just returned from a fantastic week at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club! The grounds are beautiful with lots of walking paths and even a nature trail. The room was huge and totally spotless... and I am admittedly particular about cleanliness! They even have a free laundry room on the floor which really came in handy! We ate dinner outside on the terrace at the Bamboo restaurant and it was delicious, had great service and was child friendly. We also spent time at 2 of the pools and they were also very clean and well kept. The Loch Ness is a great family pool with a little beach, water slide, volleyball net and hot tub. We also traveled around the area - St. Pete Beach, Clearwater, Tarpon Sprngs, etc. and the Innisbrook was a great home base. Can't wait to see all the renovations and new spa! We will definitely return again...and again!!

FOUR golf courses! what else could a Golf-a-holic want? Putting greens to practice on! No Snow! A Golfer's paradise! SURE....

We had confirmed our on -line booking by phone, with absolutely no mention that the resort was hosting TWO, repeat, 2 Junior golf Tournaments simultaneously .
THREE of the four courses were off limits , forcing members and resort guests onto a single course. Of course there was a pile up and waiting list!!
The practice areas and putting greens were standing room only sun up to sun down; the restaurants were stressed to near standstill, not up to serving 600 MickyDees.
We played 2 days, not the 5-6 days we had expected.
One incident really bothered us: we were given a specific tee time, told to wait to be called, paid in full, and were never called. Starter forgot...........
Hotel Staff was attentive, charming.
Room was clean but 'old'; no mini-bar refrig, microwave or balcony.
If management had stated that there were 'complications', that the golf courses would be occupied, we would have rescheduled or changed hotels.
Packard's restaurant was a great but pricey meal; we ventured out to Tarpon Springs for Mama Maria's, a great Greek place, a little short on ambiance, but great on fish and the shrimp was out of this world.
Would we go back, no, Innisbrook promised golf but failed to keep that promise.
