“Little slice of getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2011

We were at Innisbrook for a wedding this past weekend. The minute we pulled into the site, we could tell it was special. We got a one-bedroom suite right behind the Loch Ness pool area. The pool had impressive looking water slides, you name it. Obviously we were mostly engaged in wedding activities, but my wife and I talked about coming back for a more leisurely trip sometime. The golf courses were just flat out amazing. Oak canopies, beautiful lakes to hit over, you name it. There are four courses. And one thing they bragged about is no lodging building seemed to be over two stories. Overall, just a great experience -- and the prices weren't too bad, either. Our room was HUGE, like 950 square feet? The kitchen was outstanding.

Just returned from a wedding (in "Inverness Hall" on resort location) & 3 day stay. Hard to leave. Atmosphere was more like a "Lodge" and once we realized it is quite spread out & not your typical hotel/resort check-in, we loved it. Our 2 Bedroom (sleeps 7-8) had tons of room, great view of lush golf holes with gently rolling green hills, and LOTS of storage space. Our unit (#3072 PortRush) was perfect (4 girlfriends shared it) but I heard some guests found decor to be worn & out of date.
The Wedding - out doors on the 10th hole: was the most beautiful wedding location I have EVER been to. Cool fall weather & sunset helped immensely.

PROS: The above, plus the POOL/hot tub,waterslide/beach/pool restaurant -- I rate all those a '10'. The service throughout was superb, efficient & SPEEDY.
Also great for groups to be together (Loosely) for events, but have much privacy & independence for exploring the beautiful trails,(sadly, I did not have time for that) & wooded walks, oh....and I forgot, did someone say "Golf"? I heard it was awesome from the one golfer in our group. Overall, do NOT be fooled by the location: this place is 1st class in EVERY way. Just not ostentatious. Like a lodge.

CONS : Surprise Extra "resort fees" added on to all rooms. Overall, this is not for the budget- minded. But for a nice splurge, it is quite unique. Laid back, but with every amenity you could hope for.
One guest had no water for several hours, then also no HOT on the water for 1st day. Maintenance should have checked/prepared these condos before check in. That guest WAS given a discount at checkout, for their trouble.
Also Cons: Very hard to find your way around the 1st day. Don't wear your stilettos. Also, keep the rental car if you're too impatient (ahem...) for the shuttles to take you from place to place. Its gorgeous because it IS so spread out. Our group were spread to 3-4 different buildings instead of 1. However, we did get privacy that way!

Room Tip: Ask for a unit that has already been updated. Units seem to be owned by individuals, so tastes vary...

Stayed for the weekend with family members for a birthday celebration. Beautiful grounds and golf courses. The resort is old which has both pros and cons. Pros = big beautiful trees, many acres for activities and exploring, "homey" type lodge feeling. Cons = older decor, rooms are "hit or miss", NO ELEVATORS! We had three different families in our party, therefore we had three different deluxe guest bedrooms. Ours was smelly, old, worn, out-dated, dirty, etc. The bellhop immediatly called housekeeping to clean our phone since it was smothered with some unknown red substance (ketchup or blood). Dental floss was found on the carpet, which looked barely vacuumed. We had a very small bathroom with old, dirty and chipped tile and a stained bathtub. The housekeeping seemed VERY under par and I'm not sure if they know what "clean" means. The air conditioning came from an old wall unit that blew directly on the second bed (and vents couldn't be moved). The air was musty and smelly, perhaps due to an old air filter. Due to our young son's nap time and early bed time we were not able to move rooms that night and unfortunately had to deal with the room overnight. My husband made arrangements for us to be moved the next morning. The staff was VERY understanding and accommodating and upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite. The suite was updated, modern, big and much better than the original room we had. Still the housekeeping seemed poor, with hair on the bathroom floor, barely vacuumed floors, and a dirty balcony with dead bugs, leaves and dirt. Ironically enough, the other two families in our party were given modern, clean and much bigger deluxe guestrooms that seemed just fine compared to our original room (one room was only a few doors down from ours, but totally different).
We were traveling with several young children with lots of luggage and "stuff" so beware, there are NO elevators and most buildings have three floors!
The activities for the children to do were outstanding. The pool area is very nice and fun for the kids with sand beaches, zero-entry pool and water slides. There was a free putt-putt golf course and a very nice/big playground. They had a free outdoor movie on Saturday night (moved indoors due to rain) and TONS of crafts/activities during the day for the kids. Bike rentals were also a hit and not very expensive.
Restaurants/bars were excellent! The pool restaurant is pricey for burgers and sandwiches. The Salamander Grille was affordable and delicious. My other family members were charged $12.99 for each child to eat breakfast at the buffet (ages 3 and 6), so make sure you ask the price before you order!
I would go back for sure, but I would be very picky and alert to what room I was assigned!

Room Tip: Good luck, it's hit or miss!

I stayed here with a friend for a relaxing spa weekend. When we arrived we expected a Hotel/resort building and it took us a while to find out that we had to check in at the Golf Members Club. From there we were escorted to our room which was actually a condo with two bedrooms and baths, living room and spacious kitchen. The building was a little old but the rooms were clean, comfortable and updated. We received a map of the property and it was fun exploring the 900 acres of golf courses, condo's, pools, tennis courts, club houses, restaurants, the spa and fitness club. The indaba spa is small enough to make it personal. The spa is brand new and up to date. The treatments are fantastic, the therapists are all true professionals and make you feel at home immediately. The lounge is the perfect place to hang out and there is free use of the whirlpool and steam room. We made use of the fitness club and attended classes with Lynn, a great instructor and trainer. We made long walks every day. The staff was super friendly - we were amazed. We live in South East Florida and we are not really used to that. Everybody we met wanted to help us out and make us feel good. We had a wonderful stay at Innisbrook. It is a great place to relax and get back in touch with nature. We both loved it and will definitely come back.

Room Tip: There are so many possibilities - you should contact the resort and discuss which room or condo suit...

We stayed here with my adult daughter for the Transitions Championship Golf Tournament which is held at Innisbrook. The suite was lovely and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. We were right on the 18th green and enjoyed every moment of our stay. We had all of our meals on site and one of their restaurants and they are both excellent. We look forward to our return again in 2012.

My husband, two children, and I have taken three trips to Innisbrook within the past year, including a week long stay last July. We are transplants from Virginia and left our Army Navy Country Club membership behind. We were happy to discover Innisbrook Golf & Spa Resort! It has something to offer everyone: golf for my husband, spa for me, Loch Ness Pool & slides for our children, ages 4 & 6. The Salamander Grill offers delicious food and the BEST homemade icecream, including "Pralines and Cream". The staff could not be more FRIENDLY! The resort's natural setting is simply tranquil and relaxing. Landscaping is beautiful!

Room Tip: As to be near Loch Ness Monster Pool & Osprey Club

My husband and I were looking for a quick long weekend getaway within a days drive of our home in the Florida, Panhandle. We chose Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club after researching it's location and ratings on several sites. We knew the golf courses were world-class, and the property was built in the 70's and 80's and had recently been purchased by Sheila Johnson of BET fame. We were anxious to see the newly renovated resort as we know her "touch" is first-class and expected no less. We were assured by the onsite, friendly reservationist, that our 1 BR condo had been "updated and remodeled" and she was kind enough to match an Expedia rate, which was excellent. Nonetheless, our room was furnished with dated furniture and was not what we anticipated. They immediately moved us to a spectacular, completely renovated room with new furniture, great bathrooms, Euro bedding, granite countertops throughout and a lush, green view from our first floor patio. We were in heaven!! We ate dinner the first night at the Osprey Clubhouse/pub and were treated to excellent service and fantastic cuisine. The Miso Glazed Salmon is not to be missed and is one of the many health-conscious choices on the delightfully varied menu. Of course golfer "fare" such as onion rings(wow) and hearty sandwiches is offered and served in large portions at reasonable prices. Breakfast is available daily, as well as a market offering coffee, home baked pastry and box lunches for the links. My husband did not golf this trip but was salivating at the 4 golf course's beautifully woven into the magnificent 900 acre property. I did partake of a spa facial in the extraordinary 18,000 s. f. Indaba Spa. My facialist, Heather, was superb and the Hungarian products she used made my skin soft and moisturized. She included an arm and hand massage in her treatment, and I relaxed in the hydro tub with a glass of wine after the treatment. All and all, I highly recommend this resort. The staff is friendly, energetic and Shelia's efforts are paying off in every aspect of this resort transformation. I will come back and recommend to all my friends that they are in for an amazing experience while staying at Innisbrook Resort. Kudos to you Shelia for your insight to transform this hidden gem into a world-class destination!

Room Tip: Make sure the room has newer furnishings
