On my recent trip to Florida, I tried to go to one of my favorite places in Palm Harbor. When we pulled into the parking lot we were surprised to see no cars there. There was some activity outside of the restaurant, but we couldn't tell if it was opened or closed. A young lady came to our car and told us that Hops had been hit by lightening on Christmas Day and would be closed for at least six weeks. They will be remodeling and updating the entire restaurant. She gave us a guest book to sign saying that when they will re-open they would have some sort of celebration and wanted to send an announcement along with coupons and/or drink offers. I don't live there, but my family member who lives in the area signed up. I thought this was a very smart thing to do by the management. Instead of wondering what was happening or why they closed, they had a greeter come to your car and explain everything to you. I'm sure it will help getting people back when they re-open.
Nice going, Hops! I will look forward to visiting you on my next trip there!
