“Great Park on Tarpon Lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

This is a favorite of my Grandkids. Great playgrounds, picnic area on the lake and hiking trails where you most likely spot a Gator. The tower overlooking the lake is perfect for views of beautiful Lake Tarpon.

“Great Park!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We live just a couple of miles from the Park and always enjoy a visit. This time we took our grandchildren a 1 yr. old and 2 1/2 yr. old. The children's play area is very good - with a variety of activities for the little ones to enjoy. They have different play areas for the little ones. The Park is well maintained and has some great picnic areas. While we didn't picnic on this visit, we have in the past and highly recommend it for a family for group outing. Walking the paths and boardwalk along Lake Tarpon is fun for both adults and kids. Climbing the Tower, you get some terrific views of Lake Tarpon and the area. This is a large park with a variety of picnic areas and pavillons as well as many paths and trails to explore. Plenty of wildlife to see, too. Usually all kinds of birds, alligators, and deer.

“Great family park, right on the lake.”

Has lots of play areas for the kids and an awesome dog park as well. The equipment is well maintained, the parking is ample and the view of the lake is wonderful.

“Beautiful park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Love to spend my afternoons here.
There is a dog park, lots of cabins for your parties, a great wooden walkway w/ a tower so you can have a great view from the lake.
There is a lot of places to rest and enjoy the lakes, animals and the views.

“A Family Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

John Chesnut Sr. Park has something for everyone. We often visit on a Sunday with the family, including young grandchildren. There are several areas of children's climbing and swinginging apparatus.

The walking trails are extensive. You could walk a different trail, or parts of several trails, every day in the week and never repeat. There are walks through the woods and walks along the lake. There are boardwalks and nature trails where you can see a variety of birds, squirrels, deer and maybe a snake or two.

There are many, many picnic areas both covered and uncovered. You can find a picnic table for two or twenty or more if you have a large group. You can also reserve a picnic area in advance.

We walk in this park at least once a week and never tire of the natural environment.

There is also an enclosed dog park where you can let your dogs run loose. It is very popular
