I used to live in Palm Harbor. Always had an ok experience at this location, next door to the AAA Office.
I thought an earlier stay in 2006 was fine until windows were
smashed by a guests vehicle and his partner.
Took a chance stayed October 2007. Whomever the new owners are must be desperate for guests. I will just call it a
very unpleasant experience and scary. Does the word
Hookers and Druggies abound? Don't bother emailing the
Red Roof about complaints. You just get the nitwits who own the hotel telling you that what you observed did not happen.
I love Palm Harbor but never again at this location.
Stay away from this hotel.

Arrived late (1:30 AM). I just needed a couple of hours sleep and a quick shower in the morning. The room smelled awful when I opened the door. I should have left then but it was so late. The bed was wore out and sank to the middle, so I kept waking up to roll back over. Now I have flea bites up and down my legs. I was not expecting much for the low price of this room but there is no excuse for nasty. Stay Elsewhere!!!!!

My husband stayed here for one night on July 4 due to a trip change and needing a last minute room. He said the place was shoddy and worn and when he checked into his room, it was filthy. He was going to ask for another room but the place was busy due to it being July 4. He went out to dinner and when he came back and got into bed, he saw cockroaches all over the room. He killed a bunch of them with his shoes, wiping them up with the hotel towels and took photos in case he needed them at check out. He lay in bed trying to sleep but he said the sight of the non stop roaches climbing the walls and the floors was just too gross for him; he knew he couldn't sleep for fear of them ending up in bed with him. At 2 a.m. he checked out, the clerk on the desk - a young man with innumerable piercings did not know how to credit the room or use the credit card machine, but said he would do his best....needless to say we were charged and we had to disupte the room charge via AMEX. We did get a full refund and I wrote to the CEO of Red Roof Inns including photos of both the live and squished cockroaches, advising him that this was the worse motel my husband had ever had the misfortune of staying in. We are used to some roaches as we have lived in Florida our whole lives but this was ridiculous! Stay away!

Me and my wife stayed at this Red Roof Inn in March and couldn't be more satisfied. When we asked the staff at the front desk about directions and some local attractions, they went out of their way to help us with suggestions and driving directions.

As for the quality of the rooms, it was a good value for the price. We stayed upstairs in one the newly renovated rooms and it was very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were in good condition and the surrounding area felt like a safe environment.

The pool area was good, but perhaps they could use new patio furniture. Other than that, the hotel was great. Upon checking out, I spoke with the manager about how well they accomodated us during our week long stay, and he was most friendly as well.

If you are travelling on the road or simply looking for a basic place to stay while on vaccation or visiting family, I would highly reccomend the Red Roof Inn, Palm Harbor.
