“EXCELLENT RELAXING STAY!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

Stayed here for a few days while my niece and nephew were visiting. The property is in excellent condition and the several pools were a real plus for us. The staff was well trained and response time guest service wise was quick. There was also a nice palm tree lined jogging path that starts at the end of the property near the water. Very nice!

Our family found Ocean Pointe to be a perfect getaway. Try saying that while spending a week with 17 and 12 year old boys. We checked in, didn't like the view. Went to the front desk and they moved us to a great view room. Mind you that was the week of July 4th! The front desk people and all with Marriott name badges were always quick with a greeting and smile. Activities were great. The bikes and putt putt were especially fun. I am not an owner but merely some guy from Washington state. I can't wait to get back to this Marriott. Oh yeah and one more thing. Upon telling my third grade teacher I was bored she looked at me and said 'Jimmy, only boring people get bored'.

Visually the resort is well maintained. We had a two bedroom 2 bath ocean front room. While they had many activities on the resort, they catered more to families so we spent allot of time at City Place which was a short ride away. The resort has several pools but it was frustrating that they didn't designate a pool just for adults. It's hard to tan and nap or read a book when kids are splashing and screaming. The bar closes down very early but the beach access is open late. The grocery and liquor store were very close.

We had been to Ocean Pointe years ago and had a week of rain which made for a rough vacation. We decided to give it another try and so glad we did! The resort is beautiful, the staff was super, the beach lovely and the surrounding area great to visit. We had a lock-off unit which was plenty big enough for the 2 of us. We were in the Pompano building, 6th floor and had a wonderful view of the pool area and ocean. We were impressed with the activities the resort had including daily water aerobics, a barbeque, volleyball, miniature golf, movie night in the pavilion - live music...there was always something to do.

Room Tip: Due to the lush vegetation, request a room on a higher floor to get more of a view.

We stayed here as a partial family reunion. Rooms were very nice with kitchen, dining, living area and spacious, well appointed bedrooms (we were in a three room suite in the Dolphin Building). It was a very comfortable stay.

This is a very family friendly resort with most guests having children with them. There was always some sort of activity going on during the days at the pool to engage kids and adults alike but nothing especially thrilling--trivia quizzes, T-shirt tie dying station, ice cream bar, mixed age water polo in a shallow pool--but the pool area and easy proximity to the beach were very nice.

A bar with a decent menu and very attentive staff was right in the middle of everything. There was also a pizza, wings, and panini place adjacent to the pool as well as a roaming bar tender so you will be well taken care of.

The beach is relatively broad and flat but people congregate toward the shore and it gets a bit crowded. There is a vendor offering lounge chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and stand up paddle boards at the end of the boardwalk as you enter the beach.

All in all, if you are looking for a pretty high end stay and mainly want to chill and relax rather than hit the town, you could do worse.

This is the best. Staff is sooooo great. You can't find anything wrong with the place even if you tried all week. The best thing about this resort is the staff. Next would be the grounds and then room condition. Rooms always look new.

Room Tip: Choose kingfish bldg for seclusion. Most will want one of the other 3 buildings

We exchanged our timeshare for a three bedroom (two bedroom plus a lockout), full kitchen with laundry unit and couldn't have found a better place to spend some quality family time. Our flight was early but we simply told the wonderfully helpful woman at the front desk that we'd arrived and she took my husband's mobile number, told us we could store our luggage behind the front desk and head to the beach or pool until our unit was ready (which we did and it was ready early). The beach was beautiful, the staff was friendly, helpful, always smiling and greeting us with a "good morning" or "good afternoon" or "are you enjoy your stay?" and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests. Our unit was beautiful and well appointed with granite countertops, comfy beds and plenty of space for our crew of six as well as enough towels and such. We were in the Pompano which I'm told is the most recently updated unit. I appreciated the dishwasher detergent, dish soap and sponge and sharp kitchen knife. I can't tell you the number of places we've vacationed where we've had to buy a decent knife so THANK YOU for a great dicing knife (it's the little things!). There are several pools and hot tubs, all of which have an assistance chair for those who may need help getting in and/or out. The pool nearest our unit was closed to children from 7-11am for adult swim and a water aerobics class, which was nice. The facility is gated between the parking lots and beach and a code is given to guests. Additionally a keycard is needed to even get up in the elevator. Ah, another nicety is that you only have to swipe your keycard to get into the room rather than sticking it into the slot, which is much nicer and easier to use than most hotels. There are several places to eat on-site, which we did twice and the food was very good. We also enjoyed every drink-of-the-day, chatting up the bartenders who were also very fun and friendly. There's a gentleman who takes a cart around the pools making drinks as well, for those who don't even wish to get out of the water. The entire resort is non-smoking with a few small designated smoking areas. Ah, I can't forget to mention the cabanas - they're free! I believe there are four around the pool that has the early adult swim and maybe 10 around the other. First come, first serve but a nice place to find shade, hang if you have a baby, etc. around the pool area. My parents, who travel a lot to some very nice places, said over and over, "We'd come back here!". It's like being on a cruise ship, as far as activities for the whole family, without the seasickness and surprise - no extra charges for mini-golf, shuffle board or most of the extra daily activities, which is mindblowing. There are two beach entrances from the resort (that I'm aware of): one that has three steps and one that is all ramp. Hint: Hang at the end with the ramp if you want to be away from the crowds. The water has few waves so it's a wonderful place to just hang out, let the children play, snorkel and whatnot and not have to worry about waves crashing over you. It's a bummer if you wanted to boogie board but there are enough boats coming in and out there to make wakes that you can get some action. There's a Waves and two bar/restaurants within walking distances to get beach gear or additional grub. The Publix down the street is top notch and will be getting five stars from me as well so give them you business too. Finally, if you're looking to eat out while you're down there, check out Longboards - UNBELIEVABLE! Another I'm off to give five stars. Have fun and thank you, Ocean Pointe, for a wonderful week and for an incredible staff. I don't know who does your hiring but they do a bang up job! :) [Some of the photos are odd - I thought I'd give you pictures of what you'd not find on their website]

Room Tip: All three bedroom units are oceanfront.
