“Beautiful, Relaxing, a little on the dull side”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We stayed here as a partial family reunion. Rooms were very nice with kitchen, dining, living area and spacious, well appointed bedrooms (we were in a three room suite in the Dolphin Building). It was a very comfortable stay.

This is a very family friendly resort with most guests having children with them. There was always some sort of activity going on during the days at the pool to engage kids and adults alike but nothing especially thrilling--trivia quizzes, T-shirt tie dying station, ice cream bar, mixed age water polo in a shallow pool--but the pool area and easy proximity to the beach were very nice.

A bar with a decent menu and very attentive staff was right in the middle of everything. There was also a pizza, wings, and panini place adjacent to the pool as well as a roaming bar tender so you will be well taken care of.

The beach is relatively broad and flat but people congregate toward the shore and it gets a bit crowded. There is a vendor offering lounge chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and stand up paddle boards at the end of the boardwalk as you enter the beach.

All in all, if you are looking for a pretty high end stay and mainly want to chill and relax rather than hit the town, you could do worse.

This is the best. Staff is sooooo great. You can't find anything wrong with the place even if you tried all week. The best thing about this resort is the staff. Next would be the grounds and then room condition. Rooms always look new.

Room Tip: Choose kingfish bldg for seclusion. Most will want one of the other 3 buildings

We exchanged our timeshare for a three bedroom (two bedroom plus a lockout), full kitchen with laundry unit and couldn't have found a better place to spend some quality family time. Our flight was early but we simply told the wonderfully helpful woman at the front desk that we'd arrived and she took my husband's mobile number, told us we could store our luggage behind the front desk and head to the beach or pool until our unit was ready (which we did and it was ready early). The beach was beautiful, the staff was friendly, helpful, always smiling and greeting us with a "good morning" or "good afternoon" or "are you enjoy your stay?" and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests. Our unit was beautiful and well appointed with granite countertops, comfy beds and plenty of space for our crew of six as well as enough towels and such. We were in the Pompano which I'm told is the most recently updated unit. I appreciated the dishwasher detergent, dish soap and sponge and sharp kitchen knife. I can't tell you the number of places we've vacationed where we've had to buy a decent knife so THANK YOU for a great dicing knife (it's the little things!). There are several pools and hot tubs, all of which have an assistance chair for those who may need help getting in and/or out. The pool nearest our unit was closed to children from 7-11am for adult swim and a water aerobics class, which was nice. The facility is gated between the parking lots and beach and a code is given to guests. Additionally a keycard is needed to even get up in the elevator. Ah, another nicety is that you only have to swipe your keycard to get into the room rather than sticking it into the slot, which is much nicer and easier to use than most hotels. There are several places to eat on-site, which we did twice and the food was very good. We also enjoyed every drink-of-the-day, chatting up the bartenders who were also very fun and friendly. There's a gentleman who takes a cart around the pools making drinks as well, for those who don't even wish to get out of the water. The entire resort is non-smoking with a few small designated smoking areas. Ah, I can't forget to mention the cabanas - they're free! I believe there are four around the pool that has the early adult swim and maybe 10 around the other. First come, first serve but a nice place to find shade, hang if you have a baby, etc. around the pool area. My parents, who travel a lot to some very nice places, said over and over, "We'd come back here!". It's like being on a cruise ship, as far as activities for the whole family, without the seasickness and surprise - no extra charges for mini-golf, shuffle board or most of the extra daily activities, which is mindblowing. There are two beach entrances from the resort (that I'm aware of): one that has three steps and one that is all ramp. Hint: Hang at the end with the ramp if you want to be away from the crowds. The water has few waves so it's a wonderful place to just hang out, let the children play, snorkel and whatnot and not have to worry about waves crashing over you. It's a bummer if you wanted to boogie board but there are enough boats coming in and out there to make wakes that you can get some action. There's a Waves and two bar/restaurants within walking distances to get beach gear or additional grub. The Publix down the street is top notch and will be getting five stars from me as well so give them you business too. Finally, if you're looking to eat out while you're down there, check out Longboards - UNBELIEVABLE! Another I'm off to give five stars. Have fun and thank you, Ocean Pointe, for a wonderful week and for an incredible staff. I don't know who does your hiring but they do a bang up job! :) [Some of the photos are odd - I thought I'd give you pictures of what you'd not find on their website]

Room Tip: All three bedroom units are oceanfront.

I like the Marriott Vacation Club because of the consistent high quality of service, facilities and amenities. The Ocean Pointe is no exception. We stayed 5 days at the Dolphin Building which is in the center of it all. The beach, their pools and spa were great but after a day you'd be nicely burnt. There were many golf courses and scuba dive shops but we did not have our gear or clubs. We did spend a wonderful day chartering a boat and fishing. But other than that, it was pure boredom.
The list of activities may seem long but were very limited. I tried to join the Texas Hold Em night, I was asked if I knew how to deal. That if I could be a dealer they would open another table. And i get a free drink for my services. So this activity was limited to nine players. None of us were able to get on the shuffle board, ping pong table or putt putt course. They were packed all day.
Don't come here for a vacation. It's absolutely boring.

We had a wonderful 6 day stay at Marriott Ocean Pointe. The check-in process was speedy and in no time we were in our Pompano building studio guestroom. The room was nice with a mini kitchenette. The resort itself was very well kept. The grounds and pools were always clean. Every morning we saw the staff cleaning the gas grills. The best part of this place was the beach. We enjoyed the long strolls and the waves were refreshing and not too strong. You should bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas because Marriott outsources a separate company on the beach that charges $40 a day. The Tiki bar at the main pool was a plus. We were able to catch the World Cup finale, although the bartenders seemed to move on island time on more than one occasion. Overall, this resort is great for families with kids. There were a ton of activities throughout the day. It was apparent that these patrons come every year with their kids. As a couple, we would have preferred a more relaxing and quiet place, but we did have a wonderful time. We will definitely consider coming back when we have a family.

Very spacious 1 bedroom villa with fully functional kitchen with beautiful contemporary/tropical decor & very comfortable. Sofabed is the new springless memory foam that is very comfortable for kiddos. Loved the large pools & hot whirlpool spas. Finding loungers was never an issue as there is plenty for everyone. If you rent a car stop at the grocery store before or after check in as the marketplace is a total rip! Everything is 400% mark up at a minimum. There's a Publix just over the bridge as well as Target & Walmart within 10 miles.

Room Tip: High floor is best.

Our flight to Florida arrived very early in the morning - way before check-in time. The staff allowed us to leave our baggage with them and to roam the hotel grounds. We were encouraged to check out the 5 buildings to determine which one would best serve our needs. We chose the Pampano building because it was far enough away from the noisy activity but not too far to walk back and forth to the main area. The on-site Tiki bar was offering breakfast so that was perfect.
It was a hot day so we ended up waiting for about 3 hours in the air-conditioned main building but that was fine. Though check-in was supposed to be at 4PM, Claudia and Cyntia worked their magic and had us all set at 2PM! Our room was way more than we ever expected! It was clean, big, well stocked with newer appliances, etc. , had a great view from the 5th floor, and even had a washer and dryer with detergent provided!
Our days were filled up with pool (water aerobics at 9:30AM was a lot of fun!) and beach, and rest. We did a lot of walking in the afternoon and evening since we didn't have a car. True, the neighborhood wasn't exactly ritzy but it wasn't ghetto! We rented a car one day and drove to City Place and West Palm, both of which were beautiful, but we preferred just hang out at the hotel. We could not have been more pleased. Too bad the time flew by so fast!

Room Tip: Pampano and Kingfish are the quieter buildings. Kingfish is a pretty long walk to the main area so...
