“Palm Beach Shores Resort and vacation villas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

I have stayed at tis resort twice and enjoyed my stay both time. The staff was extremely helpful and made access to activities and trips easy. The pool was wonderful and you have the option of walking a few steps out to the beach. There is a poolside restaurant which serves all 3 meals and is excellent. At night, the tiki hut bar is a great spot for convenient nightlife socializing. Parking is easy. There are some convenience stores in the area which can lower costs of eating out and all units have some kitchen or cooking ability. For extra convenience, there is a great privately owner restaurant and bar across the street with a great menu and live music. I especially like the convenience of having a spa located in the resort where I had a nice manicure and pedicure. The resort was clean and well maintained.

Love the location of this property...a short 20 minute ride from the airport in a very upscale community on Singer Island, West Palm Beach convenient to restaurants and stores. It is on a lovely stretch of pristine beach which has a well run beach service for lounge chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, kayaks, etc for rent. The rooms were well appointed and super clean.
The only comment I would make about the units is they don't seem well insulated for noise...the people in the unit next to us asked us to keep the noise down when we were having a normal conversation which was rather disturbing. I was told by the front desk that the lock out units (which have a door between) sometimes have this complaint.
Also noteworthy is the restaurant onsite which offered a wonderful menu and great daily specials. Truly a full service resort ...the staff strives for excellence in all areas.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room 4th floor or above for an unobstructed view...and even number rooms also...

We own 2 timeshares that we usually exchange to others, and have stayed in the singer island area before at Marriott's Ocean Pointe. this place(Palm shores resort) though had a great vibe to it. Yea, when we checked in, we got again sucked into the timeshare trick, but we basically gave them there 90 minutes, got our $100 card which we used against our bar bill when we checked out, so it virtually cost us pennies to drink by the pool all week. Patsy, who I think runs the show there, took care of us on our room request which was 5th floor looking from the north section onto the pool area and ocean. This lady would be out very early checking on things , making sure eveerything was neat and clean, which it was!! We met some great people there as well, and will definetaly go back there. A cool place about a 10 minute walk is sailfish marina for some great food, drinks, as well is" Frigates" just over blue heron bridge. Again we have stayed all over Florida, and places in the tropics that have beaches and things to do, and we enjoyed ourselves like we did just as much as these other resorts.

We are a couple in our 50's and stayed for two weeks in Feb 2013. Our unit was well equipped, clean and comfortable with a side view of the beach. Local amenities/shops etc are limited but there is a nice coffee & bagel place 2 mins walk away and a local marina 10mins. walk away. The pool area is very pleasant and the beach is directly behind. Beach/pool towels are provided.

We did feel quite the youngsters while we were here and it was great to escape to Delray Beach (30 min drive) or even Fort Lauderdale (1 hr drive) to be amongst younger people and where there is a lively atmosphere with a wide choice of shops, cafes and restaurants. As with most of the US, you need a car and be prepared to use it.

Staff at the resort have customer service down to a fine art. After a long-ish drive to get there, reception staff take you through check-in and then pass you on to what are the timeshare sales people to get you to sign up for a free breakfast and presentation. Unfortunately, we didnt really appreciate what we were signing up for because it was late and we were tired. Beware! Thankfully we are owners in Spain so were spared the full monty!

Overall, the resort is very pleasant but we were glad we had a few days in Everglades City & Naples in the middle. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Room Tip: Side unit overlooking the small park with side view of beach was nice and quiet.

Over the years, we’ve stayed here twice before, and I didn’t care for it, but my wife did. We’re back again, and this time I like it better. Stayed at the Canada House in Pompano Beach before this and everything about Palm Beach Shores is far superior. The staff are wonderful, lots of activities, plenty of great restaurants in the area, beautiful beach, accommodations are updated, and nice places for walks. The only drawback is the mandatory $7 extra each day for parking and a safe in the room. They do change the towels in the room, empty trash each day, and don’t have a list of things to do before checking out. Over all…a great place. The person who suggested booking this through a discount website must not have tried to get this resort during a more desirable time. It’s too popular to get.

Room Tip: Avoid the temptation to get a free breakfast or lunch and a gift card to take a 90-minute presentati...

Ok......so, 25 years ago we paid $25,000 for our time share. Every year we pay $800 + for "maintenance fees". Now when we "exchange"...... someone wants to try to pressure us into purchasing at "their" resort....seriously, I rather purchase my own "bagel breakfast" and NOT attend your ridiculous sales pitch meeting! (Which we refuse to do religiously) Like mentioned in other posts, the $6 per day parking fee and MANDATORY $1 per day safe fee are TOTALLY RIDICULOUS AND EXTREME.....how much do you really need to nickel and dime your "guests"? Checked in today and so far the staff has been extremely courteous....although valet parking is really silly......just remove those nonsense signs and allow the entire freakin' parking lot to be used by the guests. Oh....and after spending approximately $50,000 to date (because let's not forget those "exchange" fees)...... Our room is facing the parking lot....not the beach! Bet those people who booked through Priceline or some other discount travel website are enjoying the sound of the beach tonight.....'cuz lets face it.......they will be at the "free" "bagel breakfast" tomorrow!

Room Tip: If you are an RCI exchange....sell your time share for $1 and use a discount travel website......che...

Thank you for commenting on your experience. Oceanfront Palm Beach Shores Resort is the perfect place to showcase a vacation ownership program and we have found that many guests appreciate the benefits that timeshare has to offer. The obvious is the undoubtedly luxurious standards of accommodations. Unlike hotel rooms, timeshare units feature a multitude of amenities such as spacious living and dining areas and full kitchens just like home. Timeshare owners like yourself have the opportunity to travel with their family all over the world and pay a fraction of the cost that most consumers would have to pay for these same standards in a hotel. We understand your dismay concerning our amenity policies, but these charges actually help keep the costs of owner maintenance fees down. We’re thankful that you found our staff extremely courteous and we hope that you continue to enjoy our hospitality at Palm Beach Shores Resort.

This is my first trip to this Resort. The resort is extremly clean. The rooms were spacious. I liked that there were 2 showers in the bathroom and 2 sinks! The restaurant was nice. The food was amazing! The Tiki bar made tasty drinks and the staff were all extremly friendly and helpful during our stay. This was a girl trip for us.Total relaxation. A chance to get away from it all. The resort has a average size pool. I was hoping it would of been a bit larger being a swimmer. The hot tub was great. The resort was close to the beach, which was nice. The only thing that bothered me was the fact you had to pay to use the lounge chairs on the beach! I thought that was a bit much! You go to a nice resort, you would think the beach chairs would of been included! I have never been to a place that you had to pay to use a chair? Since we loved the beach we had no choice but to pay. Also, we had no idea about the "flag" warnings. We went swimming, not knowing there were sharks in the water! Another tourist told us the meaning of the flags and what the colors meant. I didnt realize It was up to myself to figure out the beach rules? It would of been nice for some heads up and info about renting the beach chairs pryer to going on the beach and some info on the flag colors. Maybe the resort could have a little insert placed in your welcoming package to tell us. Besides all of that, everything was really beautiful and it was nice that it was not the type of place that was loud and a big party zone. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the peace of being on vacation. The resort had many fun things planned for the guests. They cater to the seniors which is nice. If your looking for a nice relaxing place to vacation in Florida with out all the busy tourist attractions this is the place! They have a nice selection of stores and restaurants around the area within walking distance. The beach is great to go on a long walks and if your a shell collector you will find lots of interesting sea treasures! It was a really wonderful place, and worth staying! I look forward to returning some day!

Room Tip: We liked facing the pool area and beach! Such beauty to look at! Better than staring into a parking...

First impressions are lasting and we’re thrilled that we succeeded in creating a positive vacation experience for you at Palm Beach Shores Resort. We love hearing about our guest’s experiences because it gives us an opportunity to improve our service. We have forwarded your suggestion regarding beach flag warnings to the resort and will look into ways to implement them. To keep our owner maintenance fees down a private beach vendor is available to supply guests with safety-approved equipment at a charge if the guests chooses. Guests may also use their own beach equipment in a designated area. TripAdvisor reviews are vital to our reader’s decision-making when choosing a vacation destination and we truly appreciate that you took the time to voice your opinion. The next time you want a front row seat to the Atlantic Ocean we hope that you think of us and return.
