“Nice hotel but waaay too many charges”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2008

Nice place but they charge you for every little thing: daily parking fee; daily safe fee; daily umbrella fee; daily chair fee....it really adds up. Leaves you wondering what the actual room cost included...I mean, a charge for a beach chair?? I've been a lot of places - both fancy and not - and never had this before. It ended up being cheaper to go to CVS and buy our own then check them at the airport (I read on Trip Advisor that others did the same at this place). Staff wasn't all that helpful when it came to trying to change our room. The beach towels are cheesy, rough and old. The restaurant there, which we didn't try, serves dolphin (yikes, never saw that on a menu before). We happened to be there during the unseasonably cold period of New Years, Jan.. 2008,, and all we were offered was a note under the door telling us they couldn't accommodate us in temps under 60 degrees, so add a blanket to your bed! Pretty hilarious. Beach is nice though, and can't complain about the suite (cleaning service is just once during stay). Nice big bathroom, kitchen, deck, bedroom, living room - all felt very clean.

Resort staff is really helpful and nice, rooms are really nice, but I wanted to share some tips about staying at this resort.
1. Do not stay on parking lot side if you wish to sleep in past 7.30 in the morning on weekdays. I dont know how quiet the poolside rooms are either, but the parking lot comes alive with trucks delivering food, garbage trucks dropping dumpsters, staff smoking and chatting loudly etc. which was fine for me because I didnt want to waste a minute of my day there. The beach and view was amazing, and we loved sitting on the porch and gazing out.

2. During your drive from I-95 down to where you cross the water taking you down towards the resort, take caution while stopping for anything in Riviera Beach. It is a low income area and while stopping at a gas station we had police activity within feet of us (I literally was kicked by the culprit who was down on the ground) simply because we stopped for drinking water for the night. It was only 8 or 9 o'clock.

3. There arent any screens on the windows/doors of the condos so you will be likely to keep them shut - for moisture reasons which i can understand, but I dont want to travel a thousand miles to sit in air conditioning, but I know that many enjoy the a/c....just commenting.

The condo was nice decor, small living area, huge bathroom, good size bedroom. nice patio, iron and board, hair dryer, all of the kitchen stuff you will need. You should become familiar with how to use a convection oven before you arrive. I'm fairly savvy but still had trouble - just another tip for you non-savvy that might need additional help. There isnt laundry in the units, just in the laundry room, which isnt our usual resort living, but it's fine. Towels are a little scratchy too.

If you dont bring your own food in, you dont have a lot of options except to buy it at the resort. There is one local shop down the road that will do in case you forgot something you really needed. We didnt see any other markets around, so I bought food while in WPB when I was shopping at the mall, there's a Publix at CityPlace. So plan ahead, bring drinking water. Pool/bar was good service and fun, snacky food although the restaurant service was slow and a bit inept, but the prices were right so maybe i'm just being picky that I didnt get my water and we didnt receive syrup for the pancakes?

The term resort tacked on to the hotel name is overrated. This "resort" has only 1 restaurant and hardly any amenities. It takes practically 20 mins of water running before it is hot. You are charged daily for the in-room safe whether you use it or not. Same w/ the valet parking...you pay for valet whether you use it or not. We opted not to use it so save tip money. Check out is too early at 10 am, with no option for late checkout. Our flight was not until 2pm! Housekeeping did give us new towels and make the bed, but did not refill the coffee nor the shampoo. Although most of the hotel staff we encountered were nice enough, the concierge was rude and whenever a question was asked, she always had the look like "why are you asking such a stupid question?" Hello!!! We are visiting, that is why we are asking you! Although the beach area was nice enough, the weather just wasn't cooperating. Overall review???.....NOT RECOMMENDED.

Just returned from spending six days seven nights at the Palm Beach Shores Vacation Villas. Actually purchased a trip package with airfare from Travelocity. The room was spotless. The bathroom was huge with a separate shower and separate tubs. Two sinks on the vanity. Lots of shelf space for toiletries. The room was a single bedroom with a livingroom with balcony. Bedroom was spacious. They also provided you with iron/ironing board to freshen up your wrinkled clothes.
The staff was excellent. The hotel restaurant has specials every single night. We ate at the poolside bar and they had drink specials there also. The walk to beach was great. Lots of shells and pristine beach.

It is a great place for children (although we didn't bring any). They have activities for kids all the time. Every single staff member was pleasant. We were never asked to attend any sales pitches. The mandatory cost of valet parking at $6 a day and the safe for $1 a day is nothing. We parked at the Breakers and it was $30 for each time you parked.

Restaurants are close by and the food good and inexpensive. The area across the bridge to Riveria Beach is very nasty. You would never walk in that area alone. Don't even venture there unless you are driving through.

Took a day trip on the gambling ship just about 3 miles from the hotel. Costs $12.00 per person with lunch included. Loaded with local retirees who like to gamble and eat lunch. It was a pleasant cruise unless you go out when the sea is rough. Half the ship was seasick when we went. Lots of slots, table games, etc.

We just returned from a week's stay and had a great time. Rooms were very nice and clean, great view from balcony, towels were offered @ pool side and could be taken to beach so sand was not brought back to the rooms in your own. All employees were very nice and would greet you whenever/wherever they seen you. Only complaint is that you couldn't have toys in the pool and the thin walls, people complained if noise was heard after 11:00 pm and with 4 children 2 @ 13 yrs, 10 yrs and 6 yrs there is going to be noise!! Everything was very cleaned and well maintained. Only problem with location is there is not anything to do other than walk up and down beach or go to pool. Few shops across the street and were reasonably priced. Recommend going to Sailfish Marina down the street and going to City Place. Neighborhood is not what you would think but never feared for something to happen @ resort. Everything furnished in kitchen to prepare meals and not have to leave. Enjoyed the part of having 2 rooms with joining doors. Did not like the fact of carrying laundry down to 1 washer/dryer on each floor and 2 expensive to wash more than a couple of loads.. Would recommend them to put stackables in the utility closets. Would also recommend purchasing chairs @ local retailers. Did not like the fact of paying $6 per day for parking my own vehicle but $1 for safe came in handy when housekeeping comes in daily to chng towels/trash and you didn't have to worry about personal things (purse/wallets/jewelry) as you set your own code. Also didn't have to worry about wagging to pool/beach. Pool/beach staff worked hard daily on the upkeep of not only the pool but the beach was raked daily and debris was buried so that gave them a nice beach. Overall no major complaints and with 11 (all together) enjoyed the time away and would definitely visit again in the future. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting to get away and relax with or without children!!!!

The resort was wonderful! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I could only think of a few things that I didn't like: Paying $6 for parking when we didn't use the valet at all. Paying $1 for safe rental. The children not being allowed to have balls in the pool. I loved that they provided towels at the pool for you. Also, if you have small children they offer pool side games for them (most are free). If you have teenage children then you will need a car to drive them places. The resort was very clean and well maintained. The washer cost $1 and the dryer was $1.25. The walls are a little then but not bad. The resort gives great directions and they are preprinted for you. The resort is in a very nice area and if the resort food is to expensive then you can walk across the street for a selection of four places to eat (seafood - Italian - subway - dairy dip style place. Also, 7 eleven just across the street as well. I have to admit over the bridge was a much different world but I never felt in danger. This resort is not for someone who wants big lights and alot of surf shops around. It is very laid back with much relaxtion taking place. Also, if you love big chairs then you will be excited. The lawn chairs are nice and big and in excellent condition. I did not see one chair in need of repair. I also liked the restrooms being located next to the pool (great for kids).

We booked our trip as a timeshare exchange and thought it was great. The hotel is kept up very well and the room was nice, expecially the bedroom and bathroom. The hotel is in a very nice area and you can walk on the beach or in a very nice residential area to the marina. I thought the staff was very helpful and gave us great information and directions. We did have a problem with the airconditioner which they hadn't solved. We had the restaurant's prime rib special and it was very good. We also enjoyed their happy hour when the drinks were cheaper. Overall it was a very good experience and we would go back.
