We've stayed at this hotel 3 times now. Since our previous visits, they have remodeled the lobby and restaurant, and they look great. Front desk is friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and comfortable - great TV too, but unfortunately, it was rainy all weekend, and the hotel uses satellite TV, so there was "no signal" for a majority of our stay. We were quite disappointed, as you can't use the pool, spa, etc. when it's raining, so you're left in your room with nothing to do. As for the beds, I found them most uncomfortable and woke up with a terrible backache each morning, and had very restless nights of sleep. Some rave of the beds, but they're just not for me. Otherwise, the room is great, and the hotel went out of their way to be accomodating with certain requests, so I give them top honors for that.

Our largest disappointment was the restaurant. We actually chose to stay at the Doubletree this year based on their excellent restaurant. Last year we raved about their food, and we looked forward to eating. However, the restaurant has changed and their menu is severely limited - and I stress "severely limited", and the choices are very poor. We thought the room service menu was so limited we made a trip to dine in instead, only to find out that the dining menu is cut more than in half of the room service menu, so we went back up to the room and ordered "in". The food we had was very good, I just wish they would bring back their original menu and fabulous food choices. Matter of fact, the second day we ordered pizza from an outside establishment because neither of us could find one thing we would eat off the menu!

The pool and hot tub are very nice and clean. We did get a few minutes to enjoy them between the storms and were impressed.

I recommend this hotel, but for the restaurant. Enjoy your stay at the hotel, but you may have to leave the premises to enjoy a nice meal.

“SAD EXPERIENCE”

Long Island, NY

I settled on this hotel because of prior visits to a hotel the chain ran in Newport RI years ago (Doubletree Goat Island). I booked a double queen. After reviewing the hotel on tripadvisor I called two days prior to arrival confirming the room advising that I would arrive around 7:30 pm and asked for a higher floor room away from I95 during my two night stay. I was assured all was in order.

On arrival I was met with a friendly deskclerk who advised that they gave away my room and that all that they had left was a King with a pull out couch. ( I have two teenage sons). They refused to call to other hotels in the area to see if they could place me in a similar room. They mentioned that there was a baseball team in town and it caused problems. Why, I have no idea. I gave a credit card guarantee and if I did not cancel the reservtion I would have been charged for the room. The next day after a fuss i received a 30% reduction. It doesn't change the fact that while on a vacation two members of my family had to sleep on a sofa pullout and not on the advertised bed at the $200+ night rate. I am very dissapointed. No attempt was made to try to make things right. The next afternoon I drove to the PGA National Resort down the street, was told that a room was available and made a reservation for the second night at a slightly higher rate than at Doubletree. The room was cleaner, the people nicer and the grounds better.

I am dissapointed with Doubletree. They gave me no explanation whatsoever for giving my room away.

Stayed at the Doubletree in Feb 08 and March 07. They updated the lobby in between visits. Nice, comfortable hotel with great pool area and very convienent to the Gardens Mall. Rooms are large, comfortable beds, and bathrooms recently re-done. All around best deal in Palm Beach Gardens.

We only stayed one night at tis hotel on our way south, but we were very impressed with the hotel, the comfortable and nicely appointed rooms and awesome pool area at this hotel.

While only there a short time, I had go check out the pool are that was surrounded by lush landscaping and great furniture. See the pictures of this area and you'll see why.

Overall a great hotel for our night's stay.

“Just okay”

The Doubletree Palm Gardens is located right off the interstate and would be fine for a short stay. I was a bit disappointed by the condition of the room, feel that the hotel could really use a refurbishing or deep clean.

Check-in
Easy and quick. The hotel is a little odd in that the main building isn’t attached to the other building, so you might want park out front until you get your room assignment so you know where to park. My room requirements were satisfied and loved the chocolate chip cookie at check-in. Thought the clerk could have been a bit more pleasant, but wasn’t rude or unprofessional, just didn’t seem to like her job too much.

Room
Overall, fairly comfortable. The bathroom was just okay, it could have used a deep clean. Towels were fine, but the floor could have been cleaned a bit better. Amenities were great, especially loved that they gave you an SPF 30 tiny sunscreen, was perfect for Florida! Felt a little claustrophobic in the shower and the water pressure could have been a bit better.

Bed was either foam or that crazy NASA stuff, but I felt like I was sinking into it. I just didn’t find it very comfortable, but you might. Pillowcases were not as clean as I’d like them to be. I was not real happy with the pillow selection as the only non-feather pillow was incredibly flat. They brought another pillow but again was really flat. Probably is why I didn’t sleep very well. Most hotels also offer a blanket and pillow in the closet, this one did not. Since I have feather issues, I didn’t want to use the duvet so was stuck with two sheets. Might want to add a blanket to the closet and improve the quality of the pillow selection!

Iron and ironing board were clean enough and worked out well. The room also had a very nice TV with a good amount of channels. I used my wireless card, so didn’t test the internet connection.

Amenities
The hotel does offer a fitness room, that seemed to have the basic equipment and there was a pool available out back which I saw a lot of folks just sunning themselves at. There is a Starbucks in the hotel with snacks and such, but was a bit too pricey for me. Lobby area looked fresh, and was nicely decorated.

Overall
Was in a decent area for me to navigate from my office as well as make a trip to the beach. Hotel could use a deep cleaning, otherwise was a fine stay.
