The casual luxury of this hotel makes everyone feel comfortable beyond reason! The surrounding beauty is absolutely staggering. With 5 swimming pools, the needs of any guest is met beautifully.
The variety of restaurants will suit all your needs.

Room Tip: Room 4112 overlooks the Palm Court.....so peaceful.

Take a step back in time to old style luxury. One arrives at The Breakers after driving through tony Palm Beach. Entry to the hotel property is imposing, down a long palm tree lined driveway to what looks like a cross between a castle and a cathedral. The public spaces, lobby, bar, etc are a bit over the top but this is what the rich and famous no doubt wanted in their Florida resort at the time the Breakers was built. My room was on the small side, no view (other than the parking lot) but otherwise well furnished and equipped. The bathroom was also well equipped but had a very high step over into the tub/shower combination. I did not experience any of the amenities of the hotel such as the pool, spa or golf course as I was there to attend a conference which took all my time. The banquet food was better than most and the banquet service less obtrusive than in most banquet hotels. My only complaint was the acoustics in the large meeting room could have been better.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room.

Five star Mother's Day brunch! Most elegant, most delicious brunch i've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful and rich with history. The decor is elegant, extraordinary and impressive. The Mother's Day brunch consisted of every kind of food you could possibly want. I don't even know where to begin...from the caviar to the piano player in the middle of the buffet....there is something for everyone. If you have the chance...this is the BEST way to treat mom...and everyone else in your party. Top notch!

Among other top hotels I have ever visited. The grounds, facilities, guest room, and food were all terrific. Imagine a wonderful lobby that you can actually sit and converse in. The new bar restaurant HMF is a terrific addition. The pols and beach are first class.
Of course it's pricey this is Palm Beach.

I just spent four nights at this beautiful, elegant, historic hotel. The setting is beautiful, right on the beach and very refined.
The staff is experienced, courteous and aim to please.
Don't even think of missing the brunch at the Circle Restaurant on Sundays. It was a feast to remember. I overdosed on every type of shellfish, but stayed away from the sumptuous, and gorgeous desserts.
The hotel comes with a high price tag, but well worth the splurge. It's on my list of hotels to revisit as often as I can.

Spent two weeks (one in July; another in August) with my husband and two children (7 year old twins) in the summer of 2012 and it was fabulous from start to finish. Every staff member we encountered provided the same attentiveness as the next, the food was fantastic with options for everyone, and yes, it is a parent's dream to be in a place this phenomenal that is family friendly. Parent's should take advantage of the kids club and the babysitter service that can be provided. Your children will appreciate it and you will too! The arcade is such a nice touch to keep the kids occupied when you get that cloud overhead for an hour or two. Met some great folks also on vacation, other local members of the club, all around a great vibe and energy.

We went to all the restaurants except the family friendly one (Italian), although our kids ate their several times and loved it. All others are more adult inclined although it is nice that they all have children's menus. GREAT restaurants in Palm Beach also and easy access to transportation to whisk you away. The gym was adequate and the spa was nice but not 'amazing'. The shopping on site and surrounding area was great also...going back later this year. 2 hours away from DC to decompress...just lovely!

Due to neighboring construction, we reluctantly left the comforts of our Aqualina Resort in Sunny Isles (Miami-ish) for The Breakers Resort in West Palm Beach for our annual pre-Christmas vacation this year. Omg, what an amazing family resort. Although you pay for it, they hit every detail right on point.

We had oceanfront rooms which were absolutely gorgeous, modern, new and fresh --- the décor reminded me of Shutters on the Beach in California. The Breakers has a daily schedule of activities for children of all ages (pool side tattoos, pool side spin art, pool side hair braiding, picture frame painting in the kids club, gingerbread house decorating during the holidays, movie night in the kids-only theatre, the list goes on and on and it's everyday all day). They also offer drop off baby sitting service in the kids club (which has a play room suitable for babies and toddlers) and a drop off camp for the slightly older kids. There is also a really cool jungle gym in front of the kids center that's built on spongy turf. The staff in general was a 10 out of 10, but the staff in charge of children's activities was an 11 out of 10. We were very blown away by the accommodations for the kids, however, the resort does an incredible job of making sure it's not a kids-only place; the adult-appropriate activities are absolutely superb. I, for one, appreciated the cozy bar located adjacent to the kids playroom/arcade in the kids center… brilliant. Sipping my Sauvignon Blanc while my 3-year-old builds towers with the blocks. Genius.

The cabanas are a gut busting splurge, particularly in high season. We bit the bullet and had cabana 8 which is a newer cabana right at the gradual entrance to the family pool. If it's in the budget, this is a worthwhile splurge to get shelter from the sun, if there's a tournament on TV that you don't want to miss (large flat screen in the cabana) and/or if you have a child potty training (as there is a bathroom right in the cabana).

NB: The spa lost all of our spa reservations I had made 2 weeks prior, BUT, they immediately accommodated us --- it wasn't a big deal. I would suggest if you're booking spa treatments, take down the name or confirmation of your treatments just so everything is on the up and up. I think I booked with a new person who maybe didn't properly save our reservations in the system as she was booking them. But again, it wasn't a big deal as the staff immediately accommodated everything we had booked.

The food on the property is truly amazing with a ton of variety. The "Flagler Steakhouse" at the golf course is probably the fanciest restaurant on property; it was spendy but very good. And, they had zero problem with us bringing the kids (although, we always book 5:00PM dinners to be respectful of those on date nights). And "HMF," the new cocktail lounge in the hotel serves really amazing comfort food tapas and sushi and as has a very hip vibe (we actually brought our son there around 8:00PM two nights in a row --- we had wine and he had cookies and ice cream; that was our deal if he promised to behave! I can't go without mentioning that on the second visit to HMF, the manager stopped by to remind us that the dessert I had ordered had nuts and to make sure our son wasn't in contact with them --- an extremely thoughtful detail that scored HUGE points with us).

My only small gripe about the hotel is that the breakfast restaurant "Circle" inside is kind of a cattle call; it's a massive lobby-type restaurant buffet that feels like a ball room; and the buffet isn't abundant enough for the price tag. The outdoor, more intimate (order from a menu) restaurant opens at 9:00AM; I think they should open earlier to give guests another early breakfast option (I believe this is the "Beach Club Restaurant").

Even so, all in all I still give the resort was an A. West Palm Beach as a town scores a D- as far as action; it's a very sleepy town (particularly for us who were used to going into South Beach from our Aqualina stay) --- but as long as you're prepared for the sleepiness, you're fine. "Buccan" is a fabulous restaurant worth going off property for.

All in all, going to The Breakers is definitely a family-focused vacation splurge, but an incredible experience for all (I wouldn't go there for a grown-ups only get away… save that for Miami)!
