This was our first visit to Chez Jean Pierre and likely it will not be our last. This is a fine restaurant from beginning to end. The four of us arrived for dinner on a Saturday night in the middle of the Palm Beach winter season. The restaurant was full and the crowd was backing out of the front door. With all of that, the service at the entry was very good and very efficient. We were greeted promptly and warmly. Our reservation was at 7:45 and we were seated promptly as, I might add, were all of the other visiting guests.
Chez Jean Pierre is a large space with multiple dining rooms. We were escorted to our table and that began the best of the night, the food, ambience, waitstaff and lovely decor. The tables are set with nice, starched linens. The waiters are very professional. Our waiter Hue was fantastic. He is a friend of our friend and we had a wonderful evening with his extraordinary knowledge of all of the food and all of the wines. Each of our courses was very well prepared.
Chez Jean Pierre is expensive. The starters range from $15-$38, the main courses are mostly in the $40s. You get the point. These are big city prices, but the restaurant delivers. I say the place is very good, but it's not amazing. It's a 1 star and not a 3 star, but it is certainly worth multiple visits, to the extent you can afford its prices.
