“Try the Chanel #6”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

If you like champagne, you have to try this drink. HMF invented it and it is killer. It is to this decade what the Cosmo was in the 90s.

“Elegant and unique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

The Breakers, one of the 'grand' hotels in the US recently renovated its dining area and renamed it HMF for Henry Flagler one of the pioneers of Palm Beach and the founder of The Breakers. There is no doubt that their target audience is a younger crowd and they have also chosen a tapas type menu that does not compete with other restaurants on the Island.

The restaurant has a retro look back to the 40s, 50s or 60s. All the servers wear hairstyles of the time (our server had a Victory Roll) and all wear the same simple black dress. Even the cocktails carry out this theme - example "The Redhead". The seating is a variety of chairs and sofas. No reservations are taken.

It is noisy with music and DJs, parties and conversation. Lots of families with children. None of this bothered our party.

The food was interesting and quite tasty. Everyone ordered a secret dish which came out almost immediately and was for sharing. It made for great tasting and fun. Favorites of the night were the lamb meatballs in a delicious sauce and the Chinese shrimp rice. The menu and the wine list are long and enticing.

Although expensive, it was fun to taste all the dishes, watch the people and be in a sophisticated setting which is interesting in itself. We would all return for another celebration but be sure to check the menu on line and make sure you understand the concept and the prices.

“The best overall atmosphere, service, and food anywhere I've been.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

Iggy and his staff of incredibly talented and professional servers, chefs and bartenders have delivered a World Class product with extremely diverse tapas style dishes and sushi that stands above any restaraunt that I know of in the world. The atmosphere with ornate towering ceilings and modern lighting is breathtaking. The servers such as Kaitlyn, Caleb, and bartender, Shawn, are incredibly focused on satisfying every need of the customer. The food is very diverse and gives the diner a chance to sample everything from unique and wonderful sushi rolls to Italian meatballs and lamb sliders. The price is in a high range but when the overall product is considered it becomes an extremely valuable evening.

“Befitting of The Breakers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

The concept is unique and was the perfect choice for this space in The Breakers. The atmosphere is already special but the attire of the bartenders/servers adds to the ambiance. The cocktails range from the classics to the trendy and have a stellar wine list as well. The menu is varied from appetizers, small plates and bowls to pizettes and sushi. Each of our dinner selections was excellent, the steak tartare was a WOW! Early on a DJ plays the perfect background music then cranks it up about 9pm. I didn't see a "dress code" but it was most refreshing to see people in classy attire "Puttin' on the Ritz" at The Breakers. I can't wait to go back!

“Makes for a fun night out on the Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

HMF appears to attract a distinctly younger crowd than many of the establishment Palm Beach restaurants. There were no reservations taken on the day we went, and I'd consider it a great place for a group of friends looking for a fun night out. If you're from out of town and want a nice experience without suffocating pretense typical of a lot of what is found on the Island, this is a also a good option for you.

Most of the dishes (tapas style) were excellent. I'd consider some of the prices a bit out of range and on the expensive side for what you get ($24?, if I recall, for a plate of hamburger sliders), but I suppose that's to be expected. The waitresses were attentive but not overly friendly.

The lounge-like atmosphere is what makes the experience unique. After dinner we ordered one of every dessert, and all but one received rave reviews. There's a fine selection of drinks, and the interesting crowd becomes even more interesting to watch after a couple bottles of champagne.
