“Excellent Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect and scenic location during our week stay at Palm Beach Shores Resort located between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Worth. Its location is across the scenic bridge to the quaint restaurants and boutiques of the town of Lake Worth, while being a short 15 minute and beautiful drive to the centre of shopping and eclectic restaurants in West Palm Beach. Just across the street from the resort are beach side restaurants and great opportunities to collect shells or laze on the beach. A relaxing and very scenic drive south along Ocean Avenue takes you past beautiful properties and wonderful views of both ocean and the lake.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom condos which was fairly up to date with a convenient and equipt kitchen and spacious living room. The upstairs bathrooms were somewhat out of date, with stained tile in the spare bedroom and could do with some attention, though everything was in working order. Unfortunately the queen bed in the master was old and sagged considerably in the middle, so much so that I had to move to one of the single beds in the second bedroom. There was a small pool on the property overlooking the lake, with a number of accessible BBQs. Unfortunately there were no lighters in the condo or near the BBQ so we had to wait until the second day to BBQ. The staff were attentive and helpful with maps and information on what to do in the surrounding area, though the office is closed on Sundays. Generally a very good place to stay, particulary with regards to the location.

This is a place to relax and sleep, right in fron of the Ocean . A bit dated, but very clean and the staff are very helpful. If you are looking for a five star accomodation, this is not it, but it is worth considering in terms of the location.

I will definetely stay here in the future.

Room Tip: All roomsare very quiet as they are sea view

We exchanged our Marriott week for this resort and we are glad we did. We wanted to stay here because of the reviews and we were extremely happy to see that they were right on. The resort was a perfect place for us. A small and quiet resort. After staying at the larger Marriott resorts, this was a a welcome relief. Easy access to the beach and we enjoyed going to the pool in the late afternoon when no one was around. We had a 2 bedroom unit which we really enjoyed. It had a balcony facing the Lake Worth which was great for a early morning coffee or a late afternoon cocktail. There are many good restaurants in town. Benny's on the Beach, which across from the resort and the Dune Deck, near the Ritz Carlton, are great for breakfast and lunch. Can't wait to go back.

I stayed in the 2 bedroom suite for one week. The hotel is very peaceful.
If you need to relax, swim and go fishing, this is the place. Be ready to lower your expectations. The hotel is very simple. No spa, small pool and no Jacuzzi or spa. The furniture and appliances are old. The laundry is outside the bedroom at the pool area. The hotel supply the customers with complimentary laundry detergent, and beach accessories. Before showing up at the resort, go shopping for all your needs, the stores are far away. The beach is five minutes walk. The office staff are very nice. I enjoyed my stay since I needed a place to sleep, therefore this was a perfect place for me.

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool are very noisy. stay away since people go fishing.

Decent place. Nothing fancy but clean and plenty of room in these large units. Nice water view from all rooms.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

I have stayed annually, usually in February or March, for many years. Each year, I look forward to the relaxation of being in this place with water all around, and just across the road from the beach. With a bedroom, living room, dining area and bath, the amount of space is perfect for two people. The balcony along the living/bedroom is perfect for morning coffee and a sundowner cocktail. I am not a beach person, so this is perfect. Although there is a small kitchen, we tend to enjoy exploring the many excellent restsurants of Lake Worth and the broader West Palm Beach area: breakfast at the Pelican on Lake Avenue, lunch or dinner (always fish tacos) at the Old Key Lime House; or dinner at Rustico Italiano.

The living room furniture was upgraded several years ago and is comfortable. There are some old-fashioned bikes to take out, but that can only be done when the office is open, between about 9-4 Mon-Fri, erasing the possibility of an early AM ride.

Some negatives: The sheets never fit the bed properly; the dishwasher is old and exteremely loud; the small appliances, like the coffee maker and toaster, are the cheapest possible----when the toast was burning there was no way to eject it. An extra blanket or two would be good for some of the cooler evenings. The wireless internet is ok,not great. But then we usually just need it to look up restaurants and explore potential outings, not work.

On the whole, the place is nice enough that even when we have had a week of cloudy, rainy weather, the place has been perfect for reading all day with a pot of tea on the side. And there are flat screen TVs in both the bedroom and livingroom, in case one person wants to read or sleep while the other watches TV.

I cannot really comment on service as it is the kind of place where bed linens and towels can be exchanged for fresh ones mid-week; it is not really like a hotel, but a time-share for week-long stays.

Room Tip: Unit 212 (on the second floor) is the best for privacy and quiet--other people do not need to walk p...
