“A Gem in the Making!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Amazing "boutique" hotel with something for every member of the family! Located between Sarasota and Venice, yet close to Nokomis Beach. Owners & management are obviously serious about making this a unique hotel experience . . . even adding beach-front accommodations soon! Rooms have modern yet comfortable decor and conveniences. Bathroom with walk-in shower was very accessible and commode is water-conservation equipped. Outdoor infinity-style pool area at the center of the main complex features platform decking, lots of comfortable lounge chairs, a sandy "beach" and a great Tiki Bar with excellent food. The complimentary breakfast was terrific! Congenial staff even make breakfast sandwiches. We would not hesitate even for a moment to stay here again! Great stay while visiting family on Casey Key.

Room Tip: First floor interior/pool-facing rooms have walk-out patios. Second floor interior/pool-facing rooms...

Stayed for 5 nights and couldn't be happier with our choice. Found this hotel on Bookit.com just by chance and looking at their pictures and customer reviews we thought we would give this hotel a chance. Reading that it was a renovation from a previous Holiday Inn, gave us some second thoughts as some hotels in the middle of renovations give customers rooms that have not yet been made over. Reserved a room that had king sized bed and overlooking the pool. We were given a corner room that did overlook the pool, but view blocked by a palm tree. Small patio with a lounge chair and regular chair.
Room was completely renovated with modernistic furnishings. Very comfortable bedding and ample storage space. Room comes with refrigerator and Keurig coffee machine. Also has in room safe. Very large shower area (no tub).
The pool area kept up very well and there is a Tiki Bar at one end that serves good food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The bartenders there do a great job, especially Misty and Tim, in serving their customers. On weekends, they have live music during their happy hour.
Also on weekends, the have a lounge called the Underground lives has a small dance floor and a DJ plays the lastest music. During our stay, the had a large wedding party that got into the party mood and really rocked the place. Misty and Tim also worked this bar and again did a fantastic job. Lots of fun.
There is a small cafe on site, where you can have a continental style breakfast which is included in the price of the room. No real cooked to order breakfast but you can request an english muffin, egg and sausage or bacon sandwich.
The onsite restaurant was closed for renovations, but was due to open on Nov 28th.
Location is about 45 minutes from Sarasota/Bradenton airport.
Restaurant about 10 minutes from hotel, Casey Key Fish House, on the water and very good food. Venice, Siesta Key, and shopping mall close by.
Would highly recommend this hotel and plan to return.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the pool, in the middle. Ground room floors have a patio and a gate that...

We stayed for three nights during our Florida trip, we found the place very quiet the hotel wasn't very full during our stay. The place was modernly fitted out, however we found turning into the hotel a bit intrepid coming from venice as it was like trying to do a u turn on the M6 with all the oncoming traffic. When staying in this area I would recommend insect repellant as my partner got a nasty spider bite on this part of our Florida trip. To sum up though on the whole the place is not a bad base to stay to explore nearby Venice/sarosata.

We've so enjoyed our stays here while banging around Sarasota County. There's something just so unexpected about this renovated Holiday Inn that is NOTHING like its former iteration. Be sure to score a room that looks over the pool, sand and Tiki Bar. The food and service is great. The vibe is laid back cool. While it's not on the beach, it almost feels like it is. Aaah...waiter, I'll have another.

Room Tip: Go for poolside...unless you want to get to bed early. Second floor if you aren't lugging heavy...

We liked this place and its tiki bar! But the restaurant was closed for renovations as well as the exercise room. Overall a good experience and close to a great restaurant called Casey Key Fish House.

Room Tip: Get a poolside room. Live music that doesn't go too late.

My husband and I enjoyed our overnight stay. I loved the walk out to the sand covered patio and we appreciated that the pool area had plenty of lounge chairs. I purchased a deal from Groupon so our poolside king room came with a bottle of wine and breakfast. One drawback was the poor wireless internet service. The hotel is not too far from downtown Sarasota or the beach. The decor was trendy-you can tell that they've recently renovated.

Bentley is a verz nice hotel, nice small rooms, flatscreen, internet, good beds, very nice bathroom.
Pool looks great, with a bar, seating places (old furniture). It is an old hotel, completely renovated in a modern " motel ". Nice little dining area with breakfast. We booked through hotwire so the price was ok. Shopping mall not to far from the hotel.
