Sometimes when restaurants are getting ready to close, it's pretty obvious in the dining room. You can hear the crew running a vacuum, waitresses with spots on their aprons are spraying Windex on the tables all around you, and busboys are rolling up silver for tomorrow's lunch trade.
Not so with Rosebud's.
Oh the bartender at Rosebud's is opening a dozen wine bottles for the next days use, and generally things are getting cleaned up, but there's none of the "hurry up" that comes with most of the crews at the joints we frequent.
The food was delicious as usual this trip. We were picking up family at the Tampa airport and coming back to Englewood. And as it turned out, we were too late for a place we hoped to stop at, so we went to Rosebud's--they're open 'til ten. And at 9:00PM the choices of good restaurants get pretty thin except perhaps on Friday.
Our family member was 9, and had flown in unaccompanied, so she was acting all grown up, and was delighted to go to the "Ladies" all by herself.
Dinner was excellent. We always love the baked brie as an appitizer, and that night we chose sizling shrimp, a chicken caesar salad and for the young lady a Mac&Cheez. Good selections all around, and another happy visit to this old time steak house.
