“An Ormond Beach Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012 via mobile

This is our 2nd trip to the area and we were not disappointed. The staff is very efficient and very pleasant. We were there when hurricane Sandy went up the coast so the weather wasn't great but it's an hour drive to St. Augustine and there is an indoor heated pool, exercise room, shuffle board and of course there's Disney a short drive away. We had a 2 bedroom on top floor, 3 TV's, full kitchen, DVD player with patio and note that no matter what room you book ALL rooms face the ocean. Rooms are clean up dated and they have just painted all halls and common areas. Got a pet bring him/her along and there is a great pet hotel called Pampered Pets around the corner and you can visit or take them to dog park very near. They are great people. Also suggest Tokyo Steak House & The Black Sheep restaurants.

This was our 6th trip to Ormond, and 5th to Royal Floridian, and as always it was marvelous. The resort, which was always good, was recently renovated and everything is in tip top shape. The accommodations are clean and spacious with all needed amenities and the staff is absolutely excellent. When there was a problem with the WiFi the staff gave me directions on where I could connect and even got their IT guy to help out when I was getting some "rogue" connection. No request is too great and they are always courteous.

Located right at the base of US 40 (Granada Boulevard) the Royal Floridian could not be better situated for ease of access. Add to that the number of restaurants and convenience stores/pharmacies within walking distance and it is a winning combination.

My advice is to go in the fall because the weather is delightful, the water warm and the beaches uncrowded.

Room Tip: Over 95% of the rooms are Oceanfront. The elevator can be a bit slow at times so if you don't mi...

My husband and I and friends were very pleased with this resort. Nice clean rooms, beautiful views, activities for the children and all within walking distance to shops, food and grocery. Would highly recommend.

We stayed in a two bedroom condo. The view was breathtaking. The rooms were very clean and decorated beautifully. The balcony was great, and we could see for miles. It was located close to a shopping center with restaurants. The pool was very pretty, and we loved the Tikki bar. The staff was very friendly and tried to help all of the time.

Room Tip: The rooms on the back facing the ocean are the best. Best sure to ask for rooms facing the ocean an...

This is our second trip to the Royal Floridian and we are already looking forward to our third.

We stayed at a fully refurbished 2 bedroom unit. Large balcony with sliders to the living room and master bedroom. 4 plastic chairs and 2 small tables. Kitchen was doable but really small. Everything was in perfect working condition and sufficient kitchen and tableware.

Large flat screen tv's in living room and master bedroom, older but not a bad size in 2nd bedroom. You get free internet and there is HBO on the tv.

But what we really go there for and enjoy are the activities and the gorgeous view from your living room and bedroom. We are game people and we were kept busy all day with our great activity team of Teresa and Nick. We played mini golf, bean bag toss, shuffleboard, and last but not least BINGO. We were fortunate and won most of them so had pocketfuls of coupons for drinks and ice cream (did I mention the ice cream social every day) and small bottles of brut champagne. There were also 2 wine and cheese hours and a margarita hour (missed that one)

People are extremely friendly and you get to meet quite a few at the games. I personally think this is the most active and fun place we vacation at and we have stayed at quite a few.

Any age group can I enjoy themselves here. Younger people were having a ball at the tiki bar. 2 bartenders keep them laughing, one in particular who is a real clown and looks like he really enjoys people and his job. Seniors are kept busy doing the above mentioned games and of course everyone enjoys the beautiful beach a few steps away and the pool/hot tub area. As far as restaurants we do not go out for dinner and cook our meals. We did go to an excellent Chinese buffet on Nova Rd in Daytona Beach. Name is hard to remember Chinese beginning with Chow. They actually had blue claw crabs on the lunch buffet. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced.

We love this place and hopefully will be able to return next year.

Room Tip: Get above the 2nd floor and be sure its not a room with a roof directly below it. We prefer asking f...

My husband and I stayed at this resort during Labor Day weekend. The resort was very easy to get to from I-95 without having to get in the traffic of Daytona. The Royal Floridian has great under garage parking and for a busy weekend, there was plenty of parking available. Almost all the condos in the resort are beachfront and very new and nicely maintained. We stayed in a studio but, it still had a fully equipped kitchen, couch with T.V. and dining table. There was also a walk out lanai to enjoy the ocean. The resort had putt putt golf, cornhole games, a pool side bar, and outdoor pool. They also had an small indoor pool and recreation room. I personally do not like to be on the beach where there is a lot of traffic but, this area was located at the end of the driving area and the traffic was not that bad. The beach was very clean and equipped with a lifeguard. There was a CVS conviently located across the street and a shopping center with a TGI Fridays also across the street. Resort staff was friendly and the rental price to stay there was extremely reasonable. I would easily return there again.

My boyfriend and I had the best time at The Royal Floridian Resort. We did not know what to expect from reading all of the reviews. The only thing I can say is you can not please everyone. To complain about this place is just insane. The room was very large and very clean. Yes, everything was not brand new However, I did not think it was going to be. The place looked amazing. We walked into a very big, clean one bedroom condo. It was great.

We played all kinds of games at poolside as well as swam. We had a blast!!! Thanks you to the owners and the staff and The Royal Floridian Resort!!!

My only complaint the bed was to soft. Doesn't that sound ungrateful. Let me mention I woke up every morning and went out on our balcony and watched the surfers. "the bed was to soft" REALLY? That was the worst part of my vacation. WE HAD A BLAST!!

Room Tip: All rooms have a beach view. You can't go wrong.
