We enjoyed seeing the huge oaks here and hiking a bit in the morning before it got too hot. The trails are nice and well kept. The map and signage in the park is poor and hard to understand. We weren't sure if some of the paths were gravel roads or hiking trails. Also, make note that the plantation portion of the park is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! Who closes a park like that in the middle of the week. We looked up all the details for this park on the state park website and didn't see anything about midweek closures. Also, bring bug spray! The ticks and mosquitos were bad!
