“Good, quiet location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2007

We stayed at the ESD in Aug 06, around the same time as the security scares so were 12 hours delayed checking in. Thankfully we had rung ahead and the front desk was still open.

Overall it was quiet enough, although it has to be said that when we checked in there were 2 youth groups staying there and basically taking up most of the suites. They were extremely rowdy and messy and we were glad to see the back of them after 2 days. As has been mentioned before, we got take-away menus under our door most day and it did make us wonder about the security. When we stayed it was in need of a thorough deep clean and our socks were constantly dirty from the carpet. Apart from that, the suites suited us well and I would recommend them to families with young children simply for the space and the small kitchenette which is invaluable if you have kids to feed.

  • Liked — Location, close to I-Drive but quiet
  • Disliked — I would be concerned about security & cleaniness

Dear Valued Patron:

We sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding your stay last year at the Extended Stay Deluxe Pointe Orlando. It is comments such as yours that give us an opportunity to view our service, staff, and amenities from a customer’s perspective.

I am truly pleased that you were generally satisfied with your stay. As you mentioned, our suites are designed to be highly functional. Our full kitchen feature, which is available in all of our suites, is a favorite amongst families, like yours, and those traveling on business alike.

While I am troubled to hear that housekeeping issues and the unfortunate behavior of several youth groups interfered with your stay, I am pleased to report that, since your stay with us in August 2006, we have made several improvements that deal directly with the concerns you outlined. Firstly, we have expanded our housekeeping staff. We now have a broader team – each member of which is assigned fewer rooms ensuring even greater attention to detail. What’s more, we have upgraded and added several pieces of cleaning equipment giving our housekeeping and maintenance staffs the tools they need to provide an even higher level of guest comfort and safety. Additionally, we have implemented strict guidelines for youth groups with severe consequences to their members and coordinators should their behavior affect the lodging experience of our other guests. We are committed to ensuring that each guest is extended the highest levels of respect and courteousness from their fellow guests. On a final note, we recommitted ourselves to our “zero tolerance” policy regarding undesirable solicitors and have pressed charges against many of them. Our assertiveness in this area has certainly reduced the occurrence of these unwanted trespassers.

We aggressively seek out feedback such as yours and actively make improvements based on them. It is essential that we evolve and adapt to our guests needs. That is why your comments are so greatly cherished.

We look forward to your next visit. It is truly rewarding to us to see our return guests immediately notice the changes we’ve made. It is our hope that you will experience these changes for yourself in the near future.

If you have any additional comments, concerns, or questions, I eagerly welcome them and look forward to your continued patronage.

We chose the extended stay as it was one of the only hotels on the southern end of I-Drive to have suites with kitchens, and its location to the 'pointe orlando'.

Location wise we were not disappointed, it was one block back from I-Drive, just a two minute walk but far enough away from I-Drive to cut out the traffic noise. Pointe Orlando, mini golf and some additional restaurants were very close and westwood boulevard (upon which it was situated) proved a convenient cut through to the end of I-Drive.

The reception staff were always courteous and helpful, we did not experience any issues that called upon a problem solving service so we didn't see that side of service but that is always a good thing.

The room was exactly as it was on the Internet everything was clean and working and the bed was large and very comfortable.

The hotel itself was always clean and all the usual amenities such as laundry room, vending machines and public use internet were present and working and the pool looked nice (we didn't use it though as we did out swimming at the disney waterparks!!)

The breakast was what you would expect, pastries, juices, hot drinks and cereals and it was all very nice, we did tend to go elsewhere for food though just out of personal preference.

All in all the only complaints would be the Spring break crowding at the hotel (not really something we can blame them for) and the cleaners didn't always replenish the bathroom supplies.

I would definately reccommend the extended stay on the grounds of a hassle free stay, location and comfort!!

I stayed in this hotel this week and the attention is terrible. Nobody call me to the room outside the hotel because they do not pass the calls. The room service is not available. The hotel personal does not care the customer. Really do not waste your money here!!!!

Dear Valued Patron:

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Extended Stay Deluxe Orlando - Convention Center at Pointe Orlando. We actively pursue any and all venues providing “first person” accounts concerning their personal Extended Stay Hotels experience.

I am truly sorry that due to customer service concerns, housekeeping services, and maintenance issues your overall stay was not pleasant.

We are complimented daily on our cleanliness, amenities, and overall accommodations, so I take your remarks, very, very seriously. We are driven to improve ourselves at every level and at every opportunity. This drive is the very foundation that has made us America’s number one family of extended stay hotels. We’ve worked hard to reach that enviable point, but we are keenly aware that in order to maintain that well-earned accolade we must work even harder. Extended Stay Hotels has served millions of travelers over the years, but we believe our success has come from serving each of them one guest at a time. Because of this approach, you can be assured that your feedback does not end here. Your comments will be shared with the management and staff of this hotel. Policies will be reviewed, initiatives will be acted upon, and changes will be made.

Again, I am so deeply grateful that you have given us a candid view of our guests’ needs and expectations. We are confident, by reviewing and responding to personal observations such as yours, that we can meet and exceed them. Your perspective, as the customer, is invaluable. I eagerly and openly welcome any additional comments, concerns, or questions, you might have.

In appreciation for our time, patience, and patronage,

Chuck Gowing

We just got back from out trip to Florida. The first week we rented a condo near Daytona the second week was at ESD. The second week was what made our holiday GREAT. It was clean, comfortable, location was unbeatable, staff we're very friendy and helpful. The room was nice and big. We are a family with 3 little girls and had plenty of room. There was a full sized fridge with freezer, dishwasher, stovetop. We had 2 queen size beds, a couch, table and chairs. We could walk to a variety of restaurants and stores, and even a movie theatre. There was a visitor center that was a stones throw away. There was a front desk staff member name Larry. He was wonderful with my kids. He was very helpful and made us all feel very special. Top top it all off it was affordable. I booked through Hotelopia and paid $73 a night. That was taxes and fees included. Also a small breakfast. I was a bit nervous because i hadn't booked online before but the whole process was easy and the room was even better than the pics show. We will definately return again!

Stayed at a number of different hotels within the Extended Stay family...this one is very very average..and only for ONE reason...the cleaning of the rooms is awful. There was actually a piece of sausage from a pizza next to my bed.
The room was comfortable, 2 queen size beds, 2 closets, full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, small selection of glasses and plates and a dishwasher with soap.
Very convenient location..easy acess to the main road just behind the hotel..walk to restaurants, pharmacy, etc.
Work out room only had cardio equipment..but that was o.k.
Breakfast was exactly what you would expect to find..so it was o.k.
I had NO problems with the front desk staff (two guys)...thought they were helpful when asked..possibly slightly indifferent but no big deal.
the top of the refrigerator was dusty...desparately need a good vacuuming on the carpet..

I see other comments about this hotel above and I guess some guests got the hotels mixed up. This is not the "Sierra Suites" This is for the "Extended Stay Deluxe Orlando Convention Center".

With that being said, I stayed here for 3 days 2 nights from 4-20-07 - 4-22-07.

The stay was very pleasant. The room was clean, the hotel overall was nice. It's close to International Drive where there are tons of restaurants that you can drive to. Or if you want to take a stroll, there are restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

Continental Breakfast is served from 7-10 am.

This was a cool and relaxing place to stay.

I would definitely stay here again.

  • Liked — Quiet and laid back environment, not on the main road with a lot of traffic.
