“Bit of a let down since 2011”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and I’m tempted to say will be our last. I have given the hotel 3 out of 5 as it wasn’t a bad stay however it was certainly not as good as our stay in 2011.

The room was ideal, exactly the same as last year, clean, plenty hot water and a comfy bed. I did a nosey in to the room we had in 2011 which has now got an upgraded TV however ours was still the old fashioned tube style – which worked so it’s not a complaint, just an observation.

This hotel came in really cheap when we booked it which was its saving grace however the breakfasts that saves us a lot of money last year prior to going to Disney, Universal and the other parks was not a patch on last year. In 2011 we always managed to eat a decent sized breakfast, there was always 3 cereals, plenty bread for toast, yoghurts then there was usually something like bagels, or French toast along with small cakes and pastries this year it was as if as soon as the breakfast items were finished they were not restocked – as though there was a daily allowance for the hotel and the greedy guts that went down really early had eaten everything. There was no cereal except raisin bran, no yoghurts, no bagels and maybe 4 slices of brown bread left but no butters or jams, it was very disappointing. We had just transferred from a Holiday Inn express hotel down at Florida Keys where the breakfast items were topped up as soon as the trays were only half full, I think in future I’d be tempted to pay a little more for a better breakfast as the room quality and comfort was similar.

I know it seems petty to mark a hotel down due to the free breakfast especially a the stay wasn’t bad but we had 2011 to compare it with so it was a bit of a let down this year. On a budget i’d stay here again but I’d get up super early if I wanted breakfast. We went for breakfast with over an hour and a half of breakfast still to go and with nothing left was poor.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Extended Stay Deluxe Orlando - Convention Center - Pointe Orlando. We know that you have several lodging options, which is why it is so important to us that we provide you with a great room at a great rate. I do certainly recognize that other guests may be less courteous when it comes to others and that is something I am working on with the staff to take note of. We will certainly take your review and use it to constructively coach our associates. We hope to host you again in the future!

My husband and I have just returned home after two weeks in these appartments.
They were large with a very big fridge, TV, and bed they are bright, clean, and had a nice sheltered pool, and the staff especially Chili on the front desk she is a dream very helpfull.
The appartments are in a nice quiet area with a handy stop accross the road for the I Drive. $1.25 to any of the 40 stops on the I Drive.
We found the appartments comfortable and we will be telling friends to uses them as with the breakfast of Bagals, muffins, oj and coffee they were good value and i hope to stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the front building

this hotel was comfy, kitchenette, pool was nice, deck was cozy and you can eat your breakie on the deck by the pool. Laundry was suitable and clean, morning buffet had lots of options and good food. front desk staff was very helpful we needed directions to places and they were more than willing to help and they printed out the directions for us to take along with us. Super close to alot of attractions literally behind the hotel within walking distance, but there was no noise when the bars got fired up for the nights events, very quite nice for sleeping. Wonder works just a short drive away, loads of eating places, walgreens you can walk to. And across the street which was a huge seller for my daughter were to paint ponies in a field lovely to wake up to every morning. Would definetly stay here over and over again. the hotels room service was the restaurants around the corner so you could pretty much get anything your hearts desire.

Room Tip: if you choose a room on the bottom floor you are close to the buffet and laundry and vending, close...

My wife & two boys (13 & 10) stayed for 15 nights at the beginning of April 2012.
We stayed in Rm 231 overlooking Universal Boulevard.
Not much noise at all - Slept like logs. Beds ok, kitchen was fine, plenty of room.
Small bathroom / shower / WC but no problems at all, well good enough.
Treat the staff ok & they'll return the favour - no problems.
Pool was not huge but good enough to relax by as on our relax days everyone else was in the parks.
Breakfast was ok too, Bagels, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, coffee, muffins (No indoor eating area, just take it to your room, no worries.
Loads of safe free parking, free wifi, & within well lit walking distance of tons of resteraunts / fast food.
The hotel is next to the Hyatt & Homewood suites. If you want to print stuff out you can use the Hyatt business facilities free.
There are also 2 x BBQ's next to the pool area that you can use & a small fitness room.
Whilst I was there they seemed to be replacing the carpets, the overall decor is a bit in need of an upgrade but no problem really.
Well worth the $57 a night we paid through their own website.
I normally use Hiltons or Homewood Suites (Work) but they start at $115 a night for a double Queen, this Hotel does not have all the bells & whistles (Resteraunt, Bar, room service) but it was absolutley fine.
When we go to Orlando again I will definatley use it, especially if I'm footing the bill.

Room Tip: Chose a Corner Room - Less neighbours & therefore noise I presume, pick no smoking too. Rm 231...

We stayed here for a week and when we first got to FL. we were to early to check in, so we went to the store to get a few things and waste sometime, don't get to this place early because your gonna wait ! We booked it through Priceline and I guess no matter what room you have in you're reservation because your going through a 3rd party you get what they have left. The couple we were with had a 5 year old and they gave them a smoking room, which was not what they made reservation for. When they went down to tell the front desk they said it's a first come first serve thing?? I thought that's what reservation were for? There was another customer complaining about the same thing while we were talking to the front desk about it. They did switch their room but not without a battle. The place it's self only had 1 ice maker and it was on the 1 st floor, since we stayed on the 3rd floor this kinda sucked. We heard doors slaming at night and the pillows were VERY uncomfortable. I wouldn't stay here again, there's a lot of places in this area and you would think they would do a better job trying to make their customers happy.

Room Tip: Don't get a 3rd floor room, everything's on the 1 st floor.

I recently received a copy of your review of the Extended Stay Deluxe Orlando - Convention Center - Pointe Orlando. I do appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns about the condition of your room. It should never be the case that a guest who requests a non-smoking room is placed in a smoking room when the preferred room type is available. I have met with the hotel management team to ensure making guests happy appears effortless. Thank you for your comments as it will help us make our hotel even better in the future.
