I was able to get this Amerisuites for $49 per night on Priceline. Once I saw the reviews, I was terrified that my husband and I were going to be miserable for 14 total nights. I am quite pleased to report that many of these reviews paint a very unfair portrait of this clean, quiet hotel.
Check in was efficient, but then again we were the only ones checking it at the time. We were given a room on the 5th floor. The view is of the parking lot, various buildings and greenery, but I have paid much for more the same view at a so-called Disney "Value" resort.
The room was clean, spacious for two. Microwave, small fridge, dining area. Comfortable bed and furniture. Adequate closet space, but only three drawers for storage.
The room was a little worn, but with the amount of traffic going in and out of "tourist town" what can one really expect? The point was, it was clean. We felt safe.
The breakfast buffet is filling and yes... it is carb-laden. But if you merely want danishes, a bagel, or some fruit or waffle with your coffee, it is tastier and CHEAPER to get it downstairs than at any local theme park. The AmeriSuites also offers popcorn and other snacks during the evening.
The pool is small and shaded. More than adequate for relaxing. The excercise room is clean and features a few treadmills, stepper and walking machines.
The maid service was unobtrusive and ensured that towels, sundries and linens were replaced as asked.
The hotel is walking distance to literally hundreds of shops and restaurants.
What more could you ask for on a budget?
Give this hotel a try, go in with reasonable expectations. Understand that there will be some wear, there will be busy times (you are in the Tourist Capital of the World) and you might just be reasonably surprised!
