“Excellent resort!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012 via mobile

We are just returning from a week-long trip in Central Florida. Our last visit was Universal Studios in Orlando. We visit orlando several times a year as we are annual pass holders. We usually stay at the timeshare resort where we own, but this time we wanted to try something different. After much searching on line and reading many reviews we decided to book Caribe Royale. This is a great place! The hotel is located right off Apopka and it's close to most everything. The lobby is beautiful and the service was great. We had a few requests along the way and they took care of them quickly. The room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There are numerous places to get food in the hotel as well, including a 24hr shop with snacks and drinks. The pool was very nice and the slide was a lot of fun, not just for the kids!! We enjoyed our stay so much we added a 3rd nite to our vacation. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Orlando. It is reasonably priced, well located, clean, has a nice layout and great accommodations.

Hotel rooms are nice and updated. There was a musky/mildew smell in the bathroom, but no sign of mold. I didn't see any bugs. We had several requests that were met immediately (refrigerator problem, needed wine opener, needed high chair, bell hop, taxi). When I went into the cafe looking for foods that didn't contain milk (due to milk allergy), the manager checked on a few items for me, then brought the chef out who offered to prepare anything I wanted. Very impressed by this!

Cons:
Housekeeping came very late in the afternoon during our stay, but early morning on check-out day.
Pool chairs are hard to get.
Cabanas are not pool side.
Several overflowing garbage bins outside front door of tower.

Overall, for the price and the amount of people each room sleeps, it's a great deal. (Also, close to Disney and I-drive).

This hotel has old bones, but new furniture in the rooms made it OK. Housekeeping staff was a huge pain. When they'd be cleaning rooms they'd open the latch on the room door and let it slam shut every time so that it let out a big BAM every time they came in and out, and the walls there were very thin. I'd be trying to do work in my room between meetings and there would be this constant BAM BAM BAM from the hall. The first day I called the desk and ask them to help and they didn't. The second day I tried to communicate myself with the staff and got them to stop. Food at the convention was surprisingly very good, but the hotel's dealing with a bug problem. One of my co-workers literally had something crawl out of her pasta salad one afternoon at lunch, another found bugs in a water pitcher, and one morning I came upon a rat the size of a housecat at the pool. Unless you get a spectacular deal here I'd definitely look elsewhere in Orlando - there are much better options available.

We stayed at the end of July for a trip to WDW. We stayed part of our trip at a Disney Hotel and part here due to money and I got a great deal at this hotel from Mouse savers(big mistake). The hotel is nice, rooms were spacious (enough for a party of 5) there is a mini fridge that is big enough to buy snacks and breakfast foods. The best thing about this hotel is the bed, they were so comfortable! One thing I didn't really care to much for is the pool. Visually from afar the pool looks very nice but once you get close or in it you can see the floor of the pool needs to be re-painted because it looks like pool scum all over. The floor of the pool also felt sharp and uneven in spots and the pool gets very cold if your not in the sun because its either not heated or its so large it didn't feel like it...ether way I was cold in the pool even though it was July! Another thing I didn't like was the first night we stayed her we ordered pizza through room service, it was 47 dollars for 2 12inch one topping pizza which is the largest they had and 2 20oz sodas which is large as they had. What a rip off! We had ordered room service for pizza at our disney hotel and it was 23 dollars for a 16 in one topping pizza and a 2liter soda! So whatever u do don't spend any money on food at the Caribe Royal because it sucks and its crazy over priced! If you are staying here for a Disney trip drive to the parks! The shuttle sucks and over crowded, bus driver are unpleasant and so are the other people on the bus. We took the shuttle 2 days and I HATED IT not to mention we were never given a schedule for the bus and when I called the hotel to find out the workers were completely rude. We got stuck at a park the 2nd day we used the shuttle because there was a 5hr gap till the next shuttle which I was told came every 2hrs. We had to take a $30 cab ride back when we could have driven and paid 14 dollars for parking at the park! And last but not least the MOST annoying thing about this hotel is their room keys. We had to call security 2 times because our key deactivated itself. We kept the keys completely away from everything and they deactivated again! Overall I will never come back. This is a good buisness/conference hotel but not for Disney. If you can pay the extra money to stay on Disney property if not just make sure you drive yourself to the parks and don't spend your money on food at this hotel.

I stayed here last week for a subway convention. The rooms were great, really big with nice to the tvs. The pools were great but there are a lot of children playing on the slide, the slide is not that big but great for a hotel. The food it's a but pricey and average at best. They have ugly yellow taxi cabs in the front that took us to dinner, they have nice luxury vehicles in the front but the bell man didn't want to pt us in them, rent a car or call a limo instead. Overall the quality of the hotel is good for the price.

My husband travelled to Orlando for his 50th Birthday, while the main part of the trip would be in Daytona to attend NASCAR events, we wanted to stay in Orlando. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were WOWED, the front desk agent upgrade us to a suite overlooking the pool (room 1917), amazing view of the 4th of July Fireworks everywhere in the distance. Room service tends to be busy early evening so don't wait too late to order, but the biggest gem of this wonderful establishment is The Venetian Restaurant, a must when in Orlando, the service was impeccable and the food exquisite.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Orlando, it is great for families, the pool area is beautiful, the waterfalls and the slide give it a certain Caribbean flair.

This was the best trip we took and we know that this hotel played a big part in this birthday celebration.

The hotel and staff were wonderful! Very clean rooms, and beautiful landscaping. Awesome pool slide as well! Warning though, do NOT go to Gourmeto's NY style pizza across the street from the hotel in the strip plaza. This was the only downside of our stay...the pizza was HORRIBLE, burnt, and the staff was incredibly rude and unfriendly...we went back to Caribe Royale and got a deliciously prepared pizza that didn't taste like eating cardboard off the street in some back alley for half the price! The hotel food is amazing, and I would NOT recommend eating elsewhere unless you do some serious research. We were very pleased with our experience otherwise and would absolutely return!
