We have just come back from 4 weeks in USA the most expensive hotel we used was the Sheraton Suites - and it was the worst. We had booked in for 4 nights over Christmas - no Christmas programme. It has a pool-that was cold. When we registerd we were told there were no room keys as computer was down, every time we wanted back in our room we had to ask. Then even their keys didn't work and our room had to be broken in to so I took my jewelry and lap top to the beach for safety. The breakfast was very poor for $10.50 and housekeeping of hallways non existent. Our room though was nice and kept clean. BUT the noise, the double glazing does not work we had room 339 don't take it! Right opposite the laundry room and people were partying while washing - some people thought it a good idea to launder at 1.30 am. The fridge made an awful noise, as it was thick with ice and they did not have another one so I spent my hol defrosting it! Yes, they gave us a discount after complaining but it spoilt what otherwise was a great holiday. We cannot fault La Quinta Orlando Airport West lovely breakfast included and oh so cheap, The Marriott Grand Vista International Drive was great - as usual and a new find, the Racquet Club at Weston, Fort Lauderdale was great apart from them trying to sell us a timeshare. The Hyatt at the Orlando Airport - well I just love that place and the staff are great just wish I could afford to stay there longer! The Wyndham Glenview Chicago should have told us or Expedia they were decorating! It is a long way from town and airport too. Make sure you take the correct taxi we ended up paying $45 for a $25 dollar trip even though I phoned the hotel before hand. They never said make sure you don't take a city cab! The suite was nice but the staff unhelpful.
