Was absolutely dreading staying at Quality Suites due to the previous comments regarding the Legionnaires Disease that happened there in March (which now seemed to have been deleted from your reviews!!). Anyway, Thomas Cook knew nothing about this, so I told them to view several websites which they did but NEVER offered to allow us to stay elsewhere unless we paid £600. Which we refused! To cut a long story short....the hotel (our room being 209) was fine apart from the bath plug getting blocked everytime you had a shower - this was reported to "Sharon - Duty Manager" on Reception. Nothing was ever done. Also, the fridge in room seemed to prefer being a freezer! Our bottles of water were always frozen by the following morning - we tried to turn the dial inside....except that the dial had been replaced by a pen top. Yes, honestly! So rang reception and they sent Maintenance up who removed the "freezer" and defrosted it and returned it to us....but within a couple a days the fridge became a freezer again. Couldn't be bothered to ring reception for a third time! The plug socket closest to the sink (near to where the hairdryer is kept) never worked. Again, couldn't be bothered to phone reception. LASTLY, don't be fooled by Reception being helpful by ordering you a taxi - its twice the amount and the hotel makes a profit out of you. Use the "Yellow Cabs" - half price and are insured! On the plus side, it is in very easy reach of International Drive in a quiet area. The rooms were clean and tidy. Having the two TVs were great. The little shop near reception was handy. The pool was never busy - bonus if you were having a break from the theme parks. Marcella who worked in the area (selling trips etc) just oppo reception was lovely. Shes from the Czech Rep and spoke very good English and found her more helpful and friendlier than the actual reception staff. This has been my 4th holiday to Orlando and I will definately return to International Drive but think I would prefer to stay in the Embassy Suites, which is where I stayed for my 3rd visit here. Yes more expensive but worth every penny.
