“Good if you get a top room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

All I can say relative to the bad reviews is this: This is not the newest buillding, but many of the rooms are renovated, especially the Concierge building which is where we normally stay. No where else in WDW can you see the Cinderella Castle, lagoon, be on the monorail, and have a beach and pool at the hotel.
I guess it depends on your perspective and what you are looking for in your WDW experience. Price? Of course it's over priced! You can get a suite at the Four Seasons Palm Beach for less than a suite here, but what in WDW isn't overpriced?

Room Tip: Get a room in the Hawaii building facing the theme park

This resort was all we could ask for. We usually stay at the Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts(Bay Lake Tower, Boardwalk Villas, etc.) but we decided to stay here since we have been intending too for a while. Right when you walk into the lobby it feels like Hawaii. Torches lit the Resort paths at night. On the beach we could see Magic Kingdom and the fireworks at night. The room was like always at Disney great. Although this resort opened along with the Magic Kingdom back in October 1971, this resort has been refurbished a plethora of times and still looks brand new. The rooms were nice and peaceful and very intricately themed as expected from any Disney Resort. The monorail was an added advantage. It was great being able to get to EPCOT and Magic Kingdom easily. Also, a boat was available to take you to Magic Kingdom. Overall, it was a great resort.

This was our 2nd time here and it will not be our last. The service was excellent! Restaurants were great and the cafe was open all night. Bartenders at the pool bar deserve a 5 star rating as well. Housekeeping was on top of everything and even left a note each day with the tip we left them. If you get a view of the Magic Kingdom you can see the fireworks from your room. There was a movie every night on the beach and kid games by the pool. Perfect hotel!

Disney has an aura about it, it may just be the friendly "mouseketeers" or the family fun atmosphere.......but i tend to think there is magic there. while at disney my family and i have so much fun that we start planning our next trip back on the plane home. I think the Polynesian Resort just boosts that magical feel, with the island music and the tribal browns and golds you feel as though you actually are in polynesia. i would recomend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: get a room on the concierge level. they have a continental breakfast and juices there.

This hotel is slightly dated, but the rooms were very large and enough beds for a family of 5. Beautiful grounds, impeccable service. Very convenient to the monorail to get to the magic kingdom. We did not like feeling "stuck" in the resort, basically you have to buy all your food there, and this was very pricey.

Not worth the money. When We stayed there in May, A guy in the next room was snoring and we couldnt sleep. We actually called security and They said they couldnt knock on their door. You would figure with their paper thin walls that we would have been given a discount but they offerred no compensation when we checked out, not even an offer to come back in the future. well guess what, we are goin back to Disney in 2 months and I dont think we will be staying at the Poleynesian resort

Room Tip: only tip is not to stay at the polynesian

We celebrated Christmas with our three kids at the Polynesian in Orlando. The room was spacious and well-appointed. We loved that they had a day bed for the third child. We were located in the Samoa building, very close to the volcano pool and restaurant. The refillable mugs were a good investment. It was fun to be able to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian, but transportation was never a problem seeing as we were right on the monorail line. I would stay at the Poly again in a heartbeat. Not sure I would go for Christmas week again as the crowds were pretty intense. It costs a lot but is worth it in charm, theme and transportation options.
