“A lovely little piece of paradise in the middle of Florida”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

My husband and I decided on a last minute vacation to Orlando to attend the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. When we were trying to pick a place to stay we decided that we wanted to stay on Disney property to be close to everything but there were so many accommodations to pick from....???? Based on price we decided on a moderate hotel - after checking out all of the moderates we settled on the Caribbean Bean Resort after reading reviews and looking at photos and amenities. The grounds at the resort are gorgeous!! You really can forget that you are in Florida and feel like you are on the grounds of a beautiful resort in the Caribbean. Lush greenery, beautiful flowers, beaches with hammocks and loungers. The one thing we really preferred over some of the other resorts (we have stayed at Animal Kingdom) was that the resort is split up into different countries. Each country is made up of villas. The villas are 3 stories high and each room has a private entrance. Loved that!! Room service was good, as were all of the staff that we encountered on the resort. Check in was amazingly smooth and quick. We have our reservation split into 2 as one took into account the free dining that was going on during the second half of our reservation. We were able to do all of the paperwork up upon initial check-in saving us from having to come back and do it all over again and also were able to stay in the same room. The only thing I could suggest would be the bed. We had a king size bed which was great, but both of us had sore backs from the bed. Did not seem to have great support. Overall an amazing stay!! Much more affordable than the deluxe resorts and in my opinion, just as good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in Jamaica. The resort is quite large and Jamaica is across the bridge from the buil...

We stayed recently for a 10 day stay. We have been to other deluxe and moderate Disney resorts before. This will not be our first choice if we have to go back in the moderate category. We are not a big fan of the theme, but we knew it when we made the reservations. The landscaping is beautiful just like every where in Disney. The room was clean, but as someone said before it could use some deep cleaning. The staff was nice and helpful for the most part, one of the concierges at the food court wasn't very helpful and helped us with a bad attitude. The food was average counter service.

Room Tip: Jamica and Aruba are closest to the food and pool without having to pay for prefer room.

This is a no-frills, convenient, good quality accommodation for a fun-filled Disney (Orlando, Fl) visit. The proximity of the resort to the various Disney theme parks is something we appreciated, especially given the round-the-clock transportation available. Although we opted for a self-catering venue, there is plenty of restaurants and takeaways within the resort. Very friendly staff!

This trip was just the Husband and I; we did a six night stay at this resort. We had a Standard King Bed room. We have stayed at both the Poly and Grand once before. This was our first Moderate Resort. I was a little scared after reading the reviews. Some said it old, smelly, and the shuttle system was awful.

I have to say, this was not the case.

When reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor, one of the most common complaints was the internal shuttle system. We had no problems with the shuttle system. It was easy to use and rarely had to wait.

The room we had was very large, lots of space; it clearly needed some deep cleaning. But in my option most hotels do. The furniture was looked older but I think that's just cause of the finish, it had that white wash finish that was popular in the early 90's. I think it’s meant to look that way. The room had Nemo Characters throughout. One thing that I thought was wacky was the in room safe.... It had a key! An actual KEY! Clearly that needs to be up dated. I was barely able to fit two iPads in it. It was very small.

I would have to say the grounds of this hotel are much nicer than the Poly and Grand. I just loved the hammocks and beach chairs. I wish I would have had time for a bike ride around the grounds.

Our room was in Jamaica Building 46, so it was a quick walk to the big pool area and to Port Royale. The food was okay, it was good for quick service. Shutters are a nice sit down place to eat. But I rather go to the parks and eat...

Room Tip: Request a Room in Jamaica... You are the first pick-up and the first Dropped off! It works out best...

We stayed with our 1 and 2 year old children for 7 nights. This is a very large property. Port royal was the place where the food, gift shop and video games was, it was a trek but not too bad. It takes it takes twice as long to get picked up and dropped on the bus system. When you arrive back on the bus from the park you have to stop at all of the other islands and drop people off.I have stayed at a value resort in the past and the transportation was the same if not better. It is also a hotel that only provides bus service. Trying to fold up a double stroller and lug our junk and 2 very squirmy toddlers was pretty inconvenient. The rooms were great. Ice cold AC, comfortable beds, so-so water pressure. Housekeeping was great. Very pretty property too. The beach area was great, very relaxing hammocks. Did I enjoy my stay? Yes. Would I go back? No.

This hotel was ok. Everything looked a bit old and worn. It appeared clean though. They do not do a good job of marking areas and room numbers so it can be a bit challenging to arrive after dark. The mattresses did appear to be newer and were comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was lacking. I think I'd choose the Port Orleans over this hotel just due to the fact that it seems slightly newer.

Room Tip: If you don't want to carry your luggage up stairs, choose a room on the first floor tucked into...

When in America tipping is expected to subsidise the poor wages but. When we stayed at this resort hotel we did nit object to tipping for good service.but at the pool bar the surly batman served poor measures in plastic cups (very safe) and the till added 18% as there were six of us!
When we bought three drinks (again short measure) and tipped the change he called me tight!!
This was the only down on an otherwise great trip.
