“Great stay and a superb price for your Disney experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2011

We booked a weeks stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Disney for our trip to Disney. I received a great rate from the hotel's website. we checked in late on a Saturday night and we were warmly received by Alan at the front desk and Gino who helped us with our luggage. The lobby is adequate but the hotel has beenr ecently renovated and looks good. We booked a Disney facing room with a balcony that also had a pool view. The pool by the way was heated, which thekids loved, considering that this was one of the coldest Decembers on record for Florida. There'a small shop to buy coffee, cokes, chips and muffins. The Disney shop is still under construction. There is a basic gym and a small games rooms for the kids adjacane to the dining area. Service at breakfast was outstanding. John, Fouard and Que were great!!! John made such an effort with my kids - he is a credit to the hotel! The hotel has a free shuttle service to the Disney theme parks and Downtown Disney too. Very convenient indeed. The rooms were good, flat screen TV, comfy beds, clean linen, no bed bugs and the mouth wash in the bathroom was a nice touch. My only gripe was the fact that the free wifi was not working in the rooms. We had to go to the lobby or sit poolside to use the the internet. Apart from that, we had no issue with the hotel and will certainly be back when next in Orlando. We had a hassel free transfer from the airport using Mears and easily catched cabs to Florida Mall and the Outlet Stores for some pre-Xmas shopping.

We checked into the hotel early before rooms were available. Planning the day at Disney, we checked our bags until a room was ready. After the day we got back to the hotel about 11 pm and was given a room, the bags had not been put in the room so we brought them up ourselves (no big deal, but not good service). We needed a third bed because our daughter's boyfriend was with us and when we requested a cot we were told that the hotel does not do cots. I requested a second room and since none was available, I slept on the floor (I was brought additional bedding).
The next day I called Priority Club and was told to speak to the hotel manager. I was told that he would deal with the problem or I could transfer to another Holiday Inn property nearby that could provide a cot. I went to the front desk and asked for the manager and was told that he was busy and not available. I wrote my name, room number, and cell number and asked that he call me when available. I never received a call.
When I returned that night I had to pay for a second room to avoid another night on the floor. I have never been contacted by the manager.

Very nive people at the front desk when we arrived and let us in our room early. Very small lobby but clean. No store (under construction). Very small area to buy coffee, milk, muffins beside bar. Cleaning service not the best. They left our dirty glasses and garbage from coffee maker for over three days. Not much counter space in bathroom but had lots of towels. Shuttle service O.K. Waited for shuttle over an hour for downtown disney that was suppose to come every half hour. One shuttle driver made me get out at the Hilton and walk instead of taking me back to the Holiday Inn. Valet service got me a cab one day to take me to downtown disney (5 minute ride) They put me in a cab with another customer and I ended up taking a ride for over half and hour to drop off the first customer. I felt very put out and recommend to the hotel not to share cabs unless we ask. Also, my handicapped brother got locked out of the room when he went down to use the pool. He went to the front desk and asked to be let back in. They told him to wait by the room but they never showed up to let him in. It was lucky that I happened to return early otherwise he would have been waiting in his bathing suit for hours. Nice pool and very close to downtown disney where you can get connecting shuttles to other resorts to eat, etc.

Holiday Inn exceeded all of our expectations. We were apprehensive when when we made the reservation at first but when we arrived, we were very much elated with not only the cleanliness of the hotels surroundings but also the rooms itself. The staff could not have been any friendlier. We always go to Disney the last week of the year to celebrate New Year's and have always stayed at Disney Resorts for its convenience and treatment. Holiday Inn; at 1805 Hotel Plaza Blvd., outdid themselves. I hope that they maintain the same quality throughout for next year as well because we will definitely have that location on the very top of our list. We had 3 other couples that were with us and stayed at other locations within the Disney surroundings and all agreed that by far we had made the best choice overall.

Amazing value for a great hotel, all new, great service and excellent breakfasts....

It's just outside Downtown Disney (5 min walk) but easily accessible to Route 4 to go everywhere else....

For the very first time i didn't feel ripped off staying in Disneyworld...

Jose at the Valet team gave us a great tip for a Colombia Restaurant across from Gatorland as well! Thanks Jose it was very authentic.

First, let me say that this hotel has been remodeled to perfection!!! Everything is NEW on the inside and beautifully & tastefully done. Lobby is smallish, but in marble with several areas to sit/wait for your car, etc. Parking costs per night, valet service extra. Once your car is parked, you never have to move it again. Front desk was VERY accommodating and curteous. Hotel has a bar and menu selections into the wee hours. A lovely restaurant fills an inner area with a ceiling that soars upward to the 13th floor area. Staff is very pleasant and the menu sports just about anything you might want. We opted for the "breakfast package" and could order ANYTHING from the menu, including the $12.95 steak and eggs. Saturday and Sunday morning was a buffet with made-to-order waffles and omlets. You are responsible for the breakfast vouchers presented upon arrival and must give these to your waitress.
Three elevators available to take you to your floor. All new carpeting in the halls/paper and paint fresh. Rooms were beautiful with big bathrooms, marble floors & sink tops, fluffy towels, minty soaps, etc. Water HOT and plentiful. We had a balcony on the ninth floor (well worth the small extra cost) which overlooked Disney Village. At 9:30 pm we could watch the fireworks in Epcot. Balcony has two chairs and table. Ask for one with the open iron grill-work so you can watch the sunset, etc. and still sit in a chair. New bedding with soft mattresses, four pillows, feather comforters, CLEAN-new carpeting, thermostat heating/cooling, well lit, computer locking safe, refrigerator. (no microwave). Staff wonderful! Heated swimming pool open late and shaped like an hour-glass. Hot-tub offered outside. Water sprays add soothing sound.
Shuttle service every 30 minutes takes you from the hotel to any Disney site you want to go. One con here, though, and that is the Hilton Hotel which is the first pick-up stop on the route. At 8:00 AM, seating on the bus is no problem, but at 8:30 or 9:00 Hilton people fill every seat and then some. Usually, standing room only when it gets to the Holiday Inn! But, on the flip side, the shuttles run like clock-work with destination schedules clearly marked on the outside of the A & B bus. Loading and unloading docks everywhere were marked on the pavement & included attendants to guide you. Bus drivers know everything...ask them when in doubt. One day we took a shuttle to Animal Kingdom, from there a shuttle to the Boardwalk, then a boat to Epcot, then a boat back to the Boardwalk, then a shuttle to Disney Village and from there the "A" bus back to the Holiday Inn. Scheduled every 5 and 35 minutes, we never waited any longer than 10 minutes for any one conveyance. I only mention this because you should not let the thought of traveling by shuttle in anyway influence your decision to stay at the hotel. We are country-folk and were rarely at a loss to get to and from the Holiday Inn during our five day stay.
The cost of $179.00 per night (which included the breakfast package for four adults) and the brand-new-ness of the place was short of miraculous. Anyone who has gone to WDW knows how expensive it can be!
I would definitely stay at this hotel again and consider myself lucky for taking the Tripadvisor's advise on this one! It is truly a hidden gem all the way around!

My husband and our 2 kids had a wonderful time in Orlando, thanks to Holiday Inn. It was the place to come back to after a long day at the parks. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were helpful and friendly namely Alex, Edwin, Chebliz, Steve and Fouad. I would recommend this hotel anytime.
