“Holiday Inn Downtown Disney”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

The service by Imane at breakfast was great! The staff was always smiling and were eager to great you.
Great location. A fireworks view from our balcony. Too bad that it was too cool outside to use the pool as it looked great! Other familys did use the pool-I guess that it was not too cold outside for them.
Walking distance to Downtown Disney-no need to fool with filled parking lots there.

We stayed 1 night at this hotel during Spring Break. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were impressed. We got to the hotel too early to check in but we were able to self-park our car with ease. The valet attendants were very helpful. I went inside to precheck-in. A bus runs from the hotel to all parks. Forgot to mention, the hotel is a 5 minute walk to Downtown Disney. Our room was very large, very clean, very comfortable, and reasonable. The restaurant downstairs is decent but of course, they are resort prices. We will be returning to this hotel.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, and for good reason. The rooms are very clean and are a very decent size. The rooms have balconies, and depending on which side of the hotel you are on, you can see fireworks from the parks. It is very easy to get to any of the theme parks (no more than a 10 minute drive). The price point of this hotel is right on. Not totally budget, but mid-range with many specials. We've stayed at several of the Disney Hotels, and this is far better. Save your money! The food is decent, but not excellent if you plan on eating at the hotel. There is a mini fridge for drinks, etc. Beds are comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Pool area was always clean and not very crowded.

This is a nice hotel that is price friendly for a family or a couple. You get a nice hotel, walking distance and a great staff that is less expensive than nearby hotels. We stayed there in March 2010 and soon in April 2013 and it was the only place we considered staying at

Located just a few minutes walk to Downtown Disney and a short drive from the Magic Kingdom. The hotel is also linked into the Magic Kingdom free bus service, but I did not use that mode of travel. The staff was pleasant, but Mikey at the Palm Breezes restaurant stands out amongst his peers. Mikey went above and beyond with his friendly attitude, and seemingly true concern for the happiness of the visitor. Hat tip to him!

It was quiet in the rooms - never heard of peep from neighbors in rooms next door or down the hall. The hotel rated 3 points in my experience due to some attention to detail in room cleanliness and hotel grounds clean-up. I was greeted by several long strands of black hair on the shower wall upon my arrival (yuck). I left several hairs up as a test for the daily cleaning staff. Those pesky hairs stayed on the wall for two room "cleanings" while I was there until I washed them off prior to my departure. Also pieces of candy and wads of tissue on the floor between the bed and nightstand; I cleaned those up. I made a visit to the pool at 8 a.m. on my last day, pleased to be the only one at the pool and was disappointed by the sight of beer cans laying in the mulch between the patio chairs, soggy tourism pamphlets in the pool as well as wadded paper napkins and a drink glass left out on the tables from the night before (lack of condensation from the melted ice in the glass and dew moisture on the napkins indicted how long they'd been there). Also a note to the maintenance team, the air vent on the wall next to room 1015, is only secured by the lower two screws and is hanging off the wall, it remained like that during my entire visit. So, this lack of attention to detail had lowered my rating to 3, but as stated about Mikey, his attitude motived me to increase the rating to 4.

As with everything in the Magic Kingdom area, meals and drinks can be a bit pricey. If you're looking to save some money (to be spent later at the attractions), turn right out of the hotel entry and drive a few minutes until you arrive at the intersection of Lake Buena Vista Drive and 535. There you will find a grocery store and a number of restaurants (Moe's, Red Lobster, Uno’s and Fuddruckers). Be advised, traffic can be heavy and slow at times in and around the hotel.

While not the best hotel I've stayed in, it was far from being the worst. Enjoy your visit......and ask for Mikey. :)

Room Tip: Downtown Disney view is nice.

WE STAYED THREE NIGHTS AT THIS hOTEL HAVING BOOKED KING SIZE ROOM HIGH FLOOR WITH VIEW. WE WERE GIVEN A ROOM ON A LOW FLOOR IN A CORNER WITH SINGLE WIDTH SLIDING DOOR LETTING LITTLE LIGHT INTO THE ROOM. WE IMMEDIATELY COMPLAINED BUT NO OTHER ROOMS WERE AVAILABLE. THE RECEPTION GIRL CONTINUALLY SMILED BUT WAS NOT HELPFUL. WE WERE OFFERED ANOTHER ROOM THE NEXT DAY BUT WERE GOING OUT AND DID NOT WANT THE TROUBLE AS THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. we arrived back at 3.30pm our room was not made up. we informed the same receptionist she said they had til 5.30pm to make up the room we left at 5.40pm and returned at 8.30pm and the room had still not been made up. I went back to the reception same girl who just smiled fortunately the duty manager overheard and asked to see the room immediately. He was appalled and the room was made up now after 9pm. The manager credited 50% of the room cost all he could probably do but never the less it was shocking service. The area for eating is dismal and the food looked very ordinary. This Hotel is overated in Trip Advisor

Room Tip: make sure it is high and has an opon outlook towards Disney World

Dear Sam N,

We certainly appreciate all feedback posted about our hotel. I apologize that your spring break was met with many inconveniences. It appears that we did not do our job in making sure you felt comfortable the entire week. We compensated everyone in the room with breakfast in the hotel for the spoiled food. I was also the person at the front desk who refunded you for the extra parking charges and the breakfast that was posted to your room in error. This review will be discussed with all departments involved to better our service, so these situations do not happen again. If you would like to discuss your stay with us further, you can contact me here at the hotel.

We hope you will try our hotel again soon.

Best Regards,

Vika Fifita

We stayed here on the recommendations of other traveler reviews and I was very happy with our choice. Clean, friendly staff, super comfy beds after long days at the park. Fridge, microwave, free bus service, great pool for the kids! We would definitley stay here again!

Room Tip: We were in the tower, stay in main part of hotel for better view, like the pool. we were facing the...
