We attempted to have a reasonably priced family vacation at Disney and we achieved it thanks to this holiday inn. Prices were very reasonable and included a full breakfast for 4! Great Mickey waffles and service from Imane and Joaquin. Room was clean and roomy. Walking distance from downtown Disney, nice pool and just sweet people throughout! We had a wonderful experience and definitely recommend it for any family!

This Holiday inn has several things going for it. We stayed only one night, so our experience is somewhat limited.

First, it's a nice, clean quiet hotel where you can be assured of getting a good night's sleep.

Second, free bus shuttle service is offered to all of the Disney parks and sites....even to nearby Downtown Disney, which is a 15-minute walk away. This more than covers the $10 hotel parking fee many people grip about. Disney charges $16 to park at Magic Kingdom, so you end up saving $6 and don't have to fight the traffic or parking deck experience.

You can also buy your park tickets at the hotel. You can at other hotels too. But this perk shouldn't be overlooked.

The staff was friendly and professional, which can quickly sour a trip otherwise. And the price is not that much more than other brand-name hotels nearby that don't have the free shuttles.

As with any hotel, there are flaws, although I'd put them in the minor category. The concierge who provides information tries to sell you on one of those time-share packages where you get a free vacation in exchange for touring their property. Maybe that's the norm nowadays, but it's a little irriating. A concierge shouldn't be peddling that sort of thing.

Secondly, when we stepped out of the elevator on the fourth floor, we noticed three big trays with leftovers from room service. They were never moved the entire time we were there. Which sort of tells you someone is asleep at the wheel. But neither that or the entrepreneurial concierge really affected our stay. We would stay there again.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista from Dec 24-Dec 27, 2012. Our stay was wonderful. We arrived around 8 pm from our flight and we were pleasantly surprised at how we were greeted by the valet and Spencer at the reservation desk.

The hotel is very clean. You can actually smell how clean it is as you walk through the hallway to the elevators. Our room was just as clean and nicely appointed. We also had a balcony view of the pool and we could also see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom. (But, I do recommend seeing the fireworks in person...they are spectacular)

We ate at the restaurant twice for breakfast. Both times, we had the full breakfast, which included access to all of the breakfast buffet stations (pancakes, french toast, Mickey waffles, omelettes, potatoes, grits, eggs, sausage links, bacon, fresh fruit, toast, bagels, cereal, and beverages. And, of course, kids eat free and that was very helpful.

The park shuttles were very convenient and ran every 30 minutes from morning until very late. Downtown Disney is a 15 minute walk...even with our four-year old. But, there is a shuttle for Downtown Disney that starts at 6 pm.

Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room as good as new.

We recommend this hotel. You will be pleased with the service, appearance, and convenience of the park shuttles and close location to Downtown Disney.

I think that this hotel is so worth it! The price per night is awesome of course, but the amount you get for what you pay is beyond words. The hotel is so clean, staff very helpful and courteous, and the pool is perfect for toddlers through teenagers. The bus to the park would be my only complaint, but hey it's free! But we learned to late that the other resorts on the opposite side of the street are so close that it didn't matter if you hopped on the a or b bus, just ask the driver which is closest. Then get off there, one driver did just bring us to our hotel when it was off the route. He bottomed out and hit a curb trying to do it but we tipped him so I didn't feel as bad. All in all this hotel was great, close enough for food Too!

We stayed here for 3 weeks during the run up to the Christmas period. We're certainly not new to this resort, as we generally prefer to stay at this location whenever we're in Florida. The hotel is one of the best on-site properties in Disney. It's location is beyond prime for all your theme park needs and with a 15 minute walk to casual restaurants like Miller's Ale House & T.G.I Fridays, etc.
I wouldn't say you'd need a car, we didn't. If we wanted to get further away from Disney, there are busses running from opposite downtown Disney our you could rent a car for a day like we did. There are regular shuttles throughout the day to all 4 of the Disney parks, we used these a lot and really found them useful.
Check In was a breeze, the staff were welcoming and gave us an extra 500 points to our Platinum Priority Card, which was a nice touch. The rooms are overly large with plenty of space. We had a lot of luggage with us due to the length of our trip and we were able to find a place for everything, without the room feeling cluttered. If anything, out stuff gave it a more homely feel. There was a large balcony and the view was amazing (Attached some photos!). Being there such a long time, we did notice however that the room deteriorated quickly. It got pretty dusty at one point, like the cleaners didn't do a full job of the rooms. We also lost hot water for 2 days, which was irritating to say the least.
The pool was great. Being so cool out, the pool was nice and warm, and practically always empty. I think the most people we shared the pool with was about 10, so no need to get up really early just to save yourself a bed.The hot tub was HOT! To the point where I had to keep my feet away from the jets. Just be careful if you have kids going in there. The restaurant is nice, if not a little pricey. Always quiet. Breakfast is about $15 but it's a good buffet with Mickey waffles and various hot and cold dishes.
We asked for a few things from the reception to little or no avail. It took them 7 hours to locate a fan and bring it to our room. We needed a sewing kit and that simply never arrived. We soon stopped asking for things as it seemed to go in one ear and out the other. As we came to the end of our trip, we received our bill through the door. We had a car for one day s we could do a proper shop at Walmart, We valet parked (The receptionist told us it was $10 per night but it turned out to be $16!) for the one evening, on our bill, we were charged for 6 nights! We went to confront the reception about this issue and instead of believing us and apologizing, All we got was a dirty look and he went and questioned the valet for 10 minutes until he had enough proof to support my claim. At this point we were glad to be leaving, we needed a luggage cart to all our stuff down to the reception, which took almost 30 minutes to arrive, at which time we'd got half of our stuff down ourselves.
So overall, it's a good hotel, no doubt about that. It's location is brilliant. The service was sloppy at best, but if you're doing Disney all day everyday, it's definitely worth it. Especially with their rates!

Room Tip: Request a room on the 14th floor with a Downtown Disney view, It really is worth it!

We stayed at this property for a Christmas party that was being held nearby. This hotel is located right in the middle of the Disney "partner" hotel plaza boulevard. Do not let the Holiday Inn brans fool you on this one. The hotel is great and boasts of resort like style amenities. One very peculiar thing we noticed on this hotel is clean, clean, clean. Absolutely clean room and hallway areas, very nice elevator and excellent meeting facilities. The elevator took a while to go up to our floor when we called for it, there was only one elevator out of 3 running during our stay. We did not use the pool so we can't comment on that but we did see several kids using it. Please note that even though it may seem obvious it's worth noting that this is primarily a Disney hotel, you will have kids and you will have noise. Do not come to this hotel to enjoy a relaxing quiet day at the pool or get a message pool side wrong hotel for that. We got a rate that included breakfast at their restaurant it was pretty ok. Oh yeah by the way it the breakfast area features a sous chef making omelletes to order. Very good stuff!

Following a transatlantic cruise, we headed to Orlando for a 3 night stay at the Holiday Inn. We chose this hotel due to its' close proximity to the Disney attractions, Downtown Disney and of course the high traveller ratings. Upon arrival we were allocated a room on the 9th floor overlooking Downtown Disney. We had a great view of the Disney and Epcot firework displays each evening, which was great.

The hotel itself is nicely located in the Buena Vista area. The room was extremely large and comfortable and the balcony with picture window a pleasant surprise. The Kingsize bed was very comfortable, with a choice of pillows; housekeeping did a nice job keeping everything clean. There is a coffee-maker, fridge and microwave which is very handy.

I was surprise at how quiet the room was - the hotel was full. The large central atrium was very different. Other hotel facilities included a gift shop, small general store, bar and restaurant, conference rooms etc. The pool area, (although we did not use) looked attractive and had nice private seating areas.

The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful; we purchased attraction tickets quickly and without fuss or pressure. We did not use the shuttle bus on this occasion, but felt this would be very helpful for those without transport.

We used the Valet parking with ease ($16:00 per day) which we found to be a great service. Ernie at Valet was especially knowlegeable and friendly.

Overall, we could not fault this short stay and would highly recommend the Holiday Inn for the central location, cleaniness and high level of staff and service.

Room Tip: A room overlooking Downtown Disney/Fireworks is a great location
