“A Great Find !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Stayed here on a recommendation of a friend. I was happy with the room, the location, the view, plus the breakfast was nice. The restaurant there Avu Avu I walked out of after being ignored for 15 minutes at the table. Not a big deal though, walked across the street to Downtown Disney.
I was there on business visiting customers and it was easy to meet them at the hotel . I would book it again the next time I am in the area.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building, I was on the 15th floor and had a great view of the pool area and downtow...

My husban and I stayed here one night. It is a beautiful hotel with a Beautiful location. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff. The parking was packed but it was easy enough if you planned. Close to downtown Disney. We will be back!

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms where very very clean and the beds were incredibly
comfortable. Convenient shuttles to/from the Disney Parks.
Walking distance to Downtown Disney.
Excellent overall!

Thanks to previous reviewers, we were ready to deal with a parking lot that was quite a distance from the hotel. And then we were assigned a room in a building that was removed from the main building (and even further from the parking lot). However, forewarned is forearmed. We used the valet and the helpful bellhop and all was good. Take my word on it - the valet is money well spent! We had a one-bedroom suite, which was roomy and nice. Only knock on the room was that it was overpowered with cigarette smoke in the middle of the night. The cafe in the basement has great grab-and-go breakfast options.

Stayed 3 nights in April, 2013. We arrived late and checked in after 11 pm. Our room keys would not work, neither would the bell hops. A call to maintenance quickly solved the problem of dead batteries in the room lock. The hotel is ideally located across the street from downtown Disney. There is a bus that comes every 1/2 hour and will take you to any of the Disney parks. All of the parks are located nearby. In my opinion this hotel should be a three or 3.5 stars. The hotel is in need of a renovation or more emphasis on cleaning and maintenance. Some stained carpets, torn wallpaper, dirty floors. Mostly acceptable, but not usually to Disney standards. I would stay here again, but this hotel needs more cleaning and to be re-graded.

Room Tip: They do offer Disney view, which overlooks downtown Disney and he pool. They also offer fireworks vi...

Stayed here for 3 nights and would never stay here again. The check-in people were not friendly and gave us the wrong room number with no apology for their mistake. On our second day, we again had to go down to the front desk to get our keys reactivated. Again no apology for the inconvenience of having to do this. The check-in process took a very long time. When we were going up to our room, I noticed that the carpeting in the hallway was ripped and looked quite shabby. We also had a stained comforter on our bed. Our room had no microwave so if we wanted to heat anything up, we had to go down to the first floor from the 5th floor and use the microwave in the cafe area. The ice maching on our floor was also broken as well. We also found the food sub-par and very expensive especially the breakfast menu. The market cafe was way overpriced...almost $4.00 for a muffin...give me a break. Drinks in the bar were very, very expensive!!!

There was no signage to hang on the door to let housekeeping know to come back later. Every day at 8:30 am, there was a knock on the door and housekeeping would walk in to clean the room. You felt pressured to get out of the room so that the staff could clean it. I guess the staff don't realize that people are on vacation and may want to sleep in. I saw one of the ladies with a clipboard (guess she was the head housekeeper) in the hallway and tried to let her know that they could clean our room an hour later as we were not ready for them to come in. Instead of saying thank you, she just grunted at me.

Whenever you would ask any of the staff where things were or needed directions in the area, nobody seemed able to answer those questions nor were they helpful in getting any information. The valet guys just seemed eager to make a quick buck and it felt like all they wanted was a hand out.

This hotel is definately not up to the Disney standard and was a very disappointing experience. We had just come off the coast and stayed at a Doubletree Hilton where the staff there went about and beyond to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay. My husband I would never recommend this hotel to any friends or family. Buena Vista Palace you guys could learn a thing or two from Doubletree about what customer service actually entails.

To start off, we are Orlando locals. We stayed in the hotel 4 years ago for our wedding night, we were totally satisfied then. The hotel had a luxurious feel. (Emphasis on the word HAD.) we stayed 2 nights this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary with a mini getaway. And man were we disappointed, we paid for a "King waterview guestroom". Check in wasn't half bad the people at the counter didn't look to happy to be there. The guy that checked me in didn't look so put together and was hitting on me (whatever). We go to our room and it's a top of the line MOTEL room, at best, our waterview room with balcony was a window with rooftop & parking lot view and for waterview the fountain at the entrance of the hotel. We were moved to a king room with balcony and "waterview on the 3rd floor" needless to say there was no waterview. And the hall reaked of food from the restaurants all-u-can-eat meat restaurant. So, we spoke to the manager and were told they had no more king rooms so were moved AGAIN to a double queen room the room was okay, just not ideal for two married adults on a weekend away. My husband was really disappointedi and I'm 99.9% sure we won't be going back . And 100% sure we won't recommend to any of our out of town family members. As for amenities go, if you don't think of relaxing pool side on your vacation or enjoying a luxurious hotel feel, then save your money and pick any other run of the mill 2 or 3 star hotel. Because who wants to pay $100 a night (minimum) to feel so disgusted and bored in THIS hotel. Happy Travels!
