“Great for SeaWorld”

Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld

We stayed here mainly for the SeaWorld proximity. The hotel room was very well maintained and spacious. Double sinks in the bathroom was a plus. Safe, shamu toy, fridge, big screen tv and lounging area( love seat, armchair, table, desk & ottoman) were greatly appreciated. The staff was nice and friendly throughout the whole process.

The pool is great for hanging out or swimming without running into young ones playing around as it is quite big and spacious. Tiki bar was also a plus with the music for ambiance.

Walking distance to SeaWorld was a great plus especially at night. takes about 5 minutes from door to gates.

really liked the place and will most likely return again.

“Brilliant Hotel”

Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld

Aug 26, 2006

Hi. Just got back from a fortnight at the Renaissance Orlando resort at Seaworld.
Thought the place was just magnificent.
We booked through Virgin Holidays and had requested a high level room. They gave us one on the 3rd floor! The lowest floor for guests. This is my one and only complaint.
The hotel has around 700 rooms centred around a huge 14 storey double atrium. Rooms can have either an external view or atrium view. All atrium view rooms have bacolnies. We had an external view room, overlooking Seaworld. No balcony though.
The rooms were huge. Apparently the largest in any Orlando hotel. We had two Queen size beds, 2 Armchairs with a coffee table and footrest, a desk and associated chair and the usual TV and cabinet etc. Rooms have safes, fridges, irons, coffee makers etc. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean and kept clean by the house staff.
Ground floor of the atrium has an atrium, a koi pond, a couple of bars and restaurants. There is a playroom with video games and a huge, clean pool with bar (and shade!). There are also a couple of tennis courts.
We had free transportation to the parks via Mears. They had a desk in the lobby. ou just requested a time for pick up and waited outside the hotel. In the event that not too many are travelling from the hotel, rather than send a shuttle bus for you, they send a taxi instead. All included.
Appox. 5 min. walk across the car park to Seaworld entrance. A bit longer to Discovery Cove though the hotel will take you anyway, free of charge.
The Trolley, stop number 38 is right outside the hotel and day tickets for this are alos provided by the hotel.
Breakfast buffet was huge, though compared ro Ponderosa ect, maybe a tad expensive at $12.00pp. We ordered room service one night and was informed it would be 20-25 minutes. After 40 minutes it hadn't arrived. So rang down and within 2 minutes it arrived, free of charge!
As can probably be seen, thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and cannot fault it. Highly recommended.
As an aside, the rooms are currently being renovated with LCD screen TV's etc being fitted.

“Beautiful place”

Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld

Aug 10, 2006
5/5 found this review helpful

Got a great rate through Priceline bidding, and was very happy that we were given one of the internal courtyard balcony rooms--it was absolutely lovely. We didn't get the complimentary glass of champagne that I had read was standard--I don't know if that was because I had booked through Priceline, had arrived at the wrong time, or if I was supposed to have asked for it. The room was beautiful and the beds were so comfy. The location to Sea World can't be beat. Some of the people at the front desk weren't the friendliest, but the person who checked me in said he would comp us for parking--don't know for certain if they don't charge guests at all or if they put something on the system not to charge certain guests, but there was a pay booth into which you are supposed to insert your room key and we were not charged for any parking. I thought it was a beautiful place--the swimming pool was fantastic and there was a children's playground also--so overall, a very nice experience.

“Convenient to Sea World”

Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld

Aug 6, 2006
7/11 found this review helpful

We stayed the Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld for a weekend as part of a Sea World package. The hotel lobby is beautiful. The rooms are very nice. The bed was comfortable. The pool area was big. There seems to be plenty to do, basketball, volley ball, tennis and more.

The service is lacking. We experienced the same problems as some of the previous reviews, the maid’s timing is bad, the timeshare people in the lobby leaving voice mail, the deli workers ignoring us, no answer when I called the front desk.

The convenience to Sea World is the best part about this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for a week with my family while I attended a fraternal conference in July. We had made reservations and gotten confirmation numbers in November. When we arrived at the hotel told us that they were overbooked and would have to move us to another hotel (which they agreed to pay for). I thought this strange because it was 9 AM and I couldn't believe that there wasn't a single other room available that day and they couldn't 'bump' the person who shows up at 8 PM that night instead. It would have also made my schedule a nightmare considering I had meetings at different hotels and the convention center and all of the transportation was through this hotel. They eventually found a room for me but only after one of the leaders of my delegation (which had booked nearly 400 rooms) intervened with the manager. For the first several days there was a large dance convention there, which was fine. The final two days however there was a firefighter/EMS convention and there was unbelievable mayhem. Glass liquor bottles all around the pool - tables and chairs being put into the pool while I am trying to teach my 3 year old to swim.
The rooms were nice, although I though it strange that the housekeepers every night came to clean up my room between 4 and 6 PM, right as I was getting in after a day of meetings. They said that they couldn't do it at any other time even though the room was vacant from 6 AM until 4 PM.
The price for the room was very reasonable ($160 or so w/taxes), especially considering the location (we were home from seaworld after the fireworks before most of the folks there made it out of the parking lot.
The 'Deli' was also interesting. The one time I shopped there, I found that they offered 5 or so types of sandwich meat, 5 or so types of cheese, and 5 or so different types of bread. After going through at least 3 combinations of Sandwiches I would like to try, and being told they were out of those items, I asked what they did have...(I'm not joking, but the only thing they had was ham, american cheese, and hamburger buns....for $7.99) I wound up ordering a $20 room service hamburger - AWESOME
Overall a hotel I would stay at only if you have an activity there or if you are obsessed with being close to the seaworld gate.
