“Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

Amazing service started with Stacey at the front desk and kept going strong all trip long. Valet staff was quick and friendly and every employee we interacted with seemed to be in a great mood and ready to help with anything. Prefer this hotel for business but also great pools for a weekend getaway and would be very kid friendly. Can't wait to get back for another trip.

We spent 6 nights at the Renaissance Orlando Seaworld from Christmas to New Year's Eve. Overall we were very happy with our choice and found lots of positives for this property.

First, the location is right across the street from Seaworld and an easy walk. Be sure you check with the front desk as they provide complimentary front of line passes on a limited basis starting the day before. Our room was very large and we were grateful since there were four of us traveling. In addition to the large room the bathroom had two sinks which is handy for getting ready in the morning and evening.

This hotel is quite large with a indoor courtyard in the middle. Depending on where you room is located (particularly on the ends) you can have a bit of a hike to your room. Our room was located on the 8th floor in the corner closest to the pool. There is a single "pool" elevator in the corner of the building that will help reduce your walking if you are on that end of the building. Keep in mind it does not operate overnight.

The hotel overall was very quiet even though they were sold out a couple of the nights. It never felt crowded. The staff very friendly at the front desk and in the restaurants. Being there for 6 nights we ate in all 3 restaurants - the main American restaurant, sushi bar and sports bar. Food was good as well as the service. There is also a Starbucks and Ice cream shop that we frequented as well. Both of these seem a little understaffed. The gift shop was the only place we encountered an unfriendly, older gentleman. He was clearly burdened by having to help us.

There is a fee for parking but as a gold member they do not have a concierge lounge so they provided us parking at no charge. Not sure that is standard but was definitely a nice touch.

You won't go wrong with this property.

Room Tip: Any room facing Seaworld will give you a view of the fireworks show at night. Second choice would be...

Travel for business, and you like the little things. Good bar, very nice staff, but the food (two meals on property) not great. If you even say, please send the Benedict's soft and runny, no reason they should be hard boiled. Note: they did comp and apologize. It was less kid full than many other hotels in the area, but could imagine once season hits, it's a kid spot, as it's right across from Sea World.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while we visited Discovery Cove and SeaWorld. Walking in to the new lobby and checking in with the super friendly staff exceeded our expectations. The concierge helped us find restaurants and setup our "Quick Queue" passes for SeaWorld.

Our room could use some updating (Room 1041). I'm 6ft tall and the shower was a bit short for me. In addition, the colors and other decor could use some updating (felt very 90's). Although, due to the rules on liquids now in airports, I do appreciate that they included toothpaste in the room - a small touch that prevented me from having to run back down to the lobby.

Overall, I'd recommend this hotel. I'd stay here again if we ever visit Discovery Cove or SeaWorld

Room Tip: Room 1041 (top floor) is a bit dated and does not have a view of SeaWorld.

We had a great experience at this Renaissance hotel. My husband, 7 year old daughter and I stayed for 6 nights in an adjoining room with my parents. Both rooms were in great shape and very spacious. The bathrooms were also very roomy with two sinks and a large vanity area.
One complaint with the room was that it was fairly dark since there was no natural light coming into the room. We had an internal balcony that overlooked the hotel atrium. Another complaint related to this is the ever-persistent music in the atrium - it started early and carried on late into the night - and it was pretty loud...it prevented us from keeping the balcony doors ajar to let a little more light in.
Overall, the hotel is also very nice and the staff are quite friendly.
The lobby was spacious and nicely done and had great amenities - my husband and I really appreciated the Starbucks, my daughter loved the ice cream shop and my mother enjoyed the different flavored waters that were put out each day. We only ate at one of the restaurants here - my husband and I had a meal at the Boardwalk Sports Bar and it was very good - the pot stickers and Renaissance Sunrise were a particular highlight.
One of the reasons we chose this hotel was for the pool and kids water play area and it did not disappoint. My daughter absolutely loved going from the spas to the main pool to the kids splash area! The only drawback was that mom & dad also had to do a fair bit of moving around as the splash area is completely removed from the pool area. A thought for the future may be to add a secondary pool or at least a spa to this area. The lounges in the main area were great - loved the "pod chairs"! I think the loungers in the splash area were probably "the old ones" and left a little to be desired but were perfectly functional. There were also plenty of towels, drinking water and a bathroom nearby which is appreciated with young children.
We ordered pizza at the pool bar one evening when our daughter did not want to leave the pool - it was good and very convenient.
We stayed Monday night through to Sunday and the hotel was very quiet during the weekdays but did get significantly towards the end of the week - there was obviously a conference going on. It didn't affect our enjoyment of the hotel but did make getting a pool lounger a little more challenging.
We booked this hotel as part of a Sea World vacation package and as such, it was a great deal. I was a little worried going in but ended up being very satisfied, as were my parents who had just booked the hotel separately.
I can also not say enough about the location, not just the proximity to Sea World (walking distance across the street) but also to the International Drive Resort area. We purchased trolley passes at the concierge desk at the hotel and they were a great value. There is so much on this stretch that we didn't even scratch the surface of what we could have done. We visited Sea World, Aquatica and Universal Orlando, shopped at the Orlando Premium Outlets, went to a movie at the Pointe Orlando and ate at a number of restaurants along the route. I would recommend this to anyone staying at this hotel or anywhere nearby.
We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we have the opportunity.

Room Tip: I would try to get a room with an exterior view for a bit more light

This business trip was made better by the amazing staff at this hotel. From checking in through check out the staff made me feel very welcome. Everywhere I went the staff were always willing to do whatever they could to make you feel that I was the only person in the hotel. Restaurant staff were fast and always friendly. The hotel was spotless inside and out. The pool is amazing and always well looked after.
There was not one thing that I could complain about. Excellent.

Service was good not great. Rooms were dated and housekeeping was not on par with the price of this hotel. Hair in the shower and towels no bath mat on day 2. I would not recommend the hotel restaurant for any of your 3 meals a day.... So at $170/nigh plus $16/day for parking I would have expected better!
