“Great Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

They have a great staff of people working here. It started when I received a pre-welcome email. When i arrived the room they had me in was a large suite. It had more room than I needed but was a welcomed upgrade. When I used there fitness center, an employee was handing out bottle water. when I was going to a work event, at the hotel, the Manager happened to be walking by and asked if I needed anything. The Valet's were very helpful and brought the cars around very quickly. Overall, a great experience, clean rooms, good food, large fitness center, good location and great staff.

The staff of this hotel provided such excellent service I was able to overlook the dated rooms. It's true that this property appears to be a converted Embassy Suites and is in need of a renovation. But the front desk staff make up for that shortcoming by providing superior service.

My husband and I were in Orlando for a couple of days to relax. We chose the Renaissance as Platinum Mariott members, and the hotel itself is well kept. The room was huge, with a nice view out to SeaWorld, and the concierge has "jump the line" passes to SeaWorld, which is such a time saver. Although we had been excited to try the Renaissance's own little water park, it was closed without anyone telling us. That was a bit of a disappointment. This was made up by how we were treated in the spa. Although we had to check out early, we were able to go into the pool and then shower in the spa area. That was a nice touch and made better use of our day.

Room Tip: Opt for a higher floor with a SeaWorld view. Florida is flat, so you get to see for miles!

Thank you so much for staying with us and share your experience. We are glad to know that you like the room and you had the chance to enjoy the spa. To ensure the equipment is maintained for continued enjoyment, we have to close our kid area, the R Aqua Zone. We truly regret that we failed in providing you with this information upon arrival. For that, we offer an apology, and we hope you come back soon to have the opportunity to enjoy it.

Chose this hotel from those available for our convention, but very disappointed to learn that the room nights were not eligible for Marriott points. First time I have experienced that. Had dinner in Tradewinds - excellent double pork chop with baked potato, onions. Room was OK, required service for air conditioning, took two days before we found a coffee maker in the room.
Bar service was casual, unfriendly, didn't seem to care about guests, slow service.
Would choose another Marriott brand if ever back in Orlando.

Thank you for your comment. Our hotel is part of Marriott, however if your group is taking care of the room, you are eligible for the incidental charges, but not for credit for the number of nights stayed. I would be glad to check your account for you, to see if there were any qualifying charges. Also, we regret that we failed to provide great service, and I would like to further discuss the points you brought to our attention. Please contact the hotel at 407-351-5555 at your earliest convenience, and I will be delighted to assist you.

Traveled for Business and took my 3yr old son and husband with me. They were entertained the entire time. The water park is amazing and the grounds are so well designed that the pool seems like an entirely different oasis. Comfy loungers and towels, etc.

Food at the pool cafe could be upgraded, slightly disappointing offerings and for a hotel of this level would prefer silverware, plates, real napkins, etc.

Room are spacious and comfy. Love the empty mini fridge for drinks and snacks.

Would definitely return to this hotel in the future w/ family or for business.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! We are very pleased that you enjoyed your time at the pool. We understand your disappointment in our decision not to use silverware and real plates; however, due the proximity to the pool and for security purposes, we have to use disposable ones. I will definitely pass your suggestion about the food on to our Executive Chef. Thank you so much for considering returning to us in the future.

The Renaissance Hotel is absolutely stunning. I was lucky enough to visit around Christmas, and got see the site decked out in it's winter finest. I was there as part of a bridal party and the staff was so incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were spotless and spacious, even when we had all of the girls and the bride to get ready. The hotel also has several options for food, drinks, and shopping, which was great when we needed something quick. The grounds are gorgeous as well, featuring a wonderful pool area and two firepits to get cozy around. We also partook of the on site spa, and I was so very glad I did. All of the ladies (and gentlemen!) who worked there were friendly and every treatment they did was stellar. My mani/pedi was beautiful, and the sugar scrub they used as part of the pedicure felt so good.

Room Tip: Rooms on the East/south East face SeaWorld and offer an incredible view of the nightly fireworks.

Our greeting at the Renaissance was warm and friendly and lasted throughout our stay - from doormen, through reception, housekeeping and a superb concierge service.

The public spaces were of a high standard and it was easy to understand how this hotel will be buzzing with life when at full occupancy.

We found our room tired and lacking the touch of luxury and attention to detail the you come to expect in 5 star hotels.

That said the location was great for our stay in Orlando with ready access to the main thoroughfares.

Just one final moment to say how much we appreciated the superb concierge team and their care and attention during our stay.
