We stayed here for 14 nights from may 13. Check in had accommodated our request for a room close to reception as my wife is pregnant, but couldn't offer us a king bed as non were available for our duration of stay. We are both over six feet so the double beds were a little small for us, but still very comfortable. Reception staff were really friendly and explained the reasons why we couldn't have a king bed. We had room 1414 in block A which over looked one of the pools and was just a short stroll to I-Drive. Last year we stayed in a block that was a little further from reception and I must say we preferred block A. Rooms were serviced regularly to a good standard. Our coffee machine dint work but was replaced within the hour. Our room was missing the iron and board but once again one was brought straight away.
The hotel has 3 pools but we only used the one outside our block for convenience. Never had a problem getting beds at anytime during our stay. I noticed the pool was checked a couple of times a week for safety which is very reassuring. You can buy food/drinks from the deli which has a great range although a little pricey. We used to go to Walgreens over the road and buy 24 packs of water for less than $6 and beer for less than $12 and use the fridge provided in the room.
Never ate in the restaurant in the hotel so can't comment, although it looked busy on a daily basis. We used sizzler which is pretty much next door to the hotel for breakfast a couple of times and it was ok, nothing special but still value for money. You have such a great choice for food as you are close to so many good restaurants, including Bahama Breeze, Maggianos and Houlihans. Our favourite was cafe tu tu tango, the food and atmosphere was great. But for a good steak Houlihans is a must.
Take a walk to the Orlando visitor centre which is just a 5 minute walk form hotel and pick up discount vouchers that could save you money off food and attractions.
We used the disney shuttle at $17 per person which was great and a lot cheaper than the $96 for a private taxi! Any questions you have the staff are more than happy to help!
My only criticism of this hotel is the noisy walkways outside the rooms.you can pretty much here everything. I can cope with noise during reasonable daytime hours but on the last 5 mornings the noise from next door started from 0630. It wasn't the people staying in the next room but others visiting the room. I think it could have been a school trip. The kids would congregate around this room and were really noisy. Nothing bad just loud. But the highlight was on the last day at around 6 am a young guy banged on next door as if there was a fire in the building, I don't think he was expecting my door to open as the poor guy looked so sheepish as I asked him what the hell he was playing at! Maybe I should have went out a few days before!
Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel as its location is second to none, its not as nice as the rosen centre or shingle creek, but its a lot cheaper!
