“Good Location, Good rates”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Have stayed here several times and is always a good value. EXCELLENT location on International Drive. EASY walk to MANY restaurants and bars. Nice little 24hr store on site and good little bar. The restaurant has a nice breakfast buffet for $7.95

My husband and i stay here every time we holiday in Fl (at least once a year) you can get some fantastic deals online or by just turning up, we paid £300 for a room that sleeps 4 for a week. You can park near enough outside your door, parking is free. Location is fantastic, its right opposite pointe (shopping wise has seen better days) but it means you are in walking distance to Millers Ale House (awesome bar & grill) pizza hut, dave & busters ( excellent if you enjoy arcade games with a beer!) senor frogs, olive garden etc etc. we stay here because we can go out for tea and drink and there is a different place every night in walking distance.

The rooms are good, 2 beds, flat screen tele with ports to attach your computer or usb. Mini kitchen with microwave, fridge and coffee machine. Only problem we have is the air con is set to a specific temperature. When it reaches that temp it stops and when it gets hotter ( or colder) it starts up again. For a light sleeper its a nightmare as it isnt quiet, but we nipped to walmart and bought a $15 fan that fixed all our problems!

It is right on IDrive but i never heard any traffic or noises from the bars and restaurants.

We'll continue to stay here every year.

We booked the Rosen Inn at Point Orlando with Virgin Holidays as it was a good deal. Seeing other reviews for this hotel and the traffic noise issues I emailed the hotel a few weeks prior to travel to request a quiet room on the International Drive side of the hotel, Imelda emailed confirming this would be noted against the booking.

The check in was quick, but not overly friendly, the request for a quiet room was honoured and we were allocated a room overlooking a side road from I Drive, block D, third floor.

The room was comfortable and well equipped, with two chairs, one easy chair and a comfy swival office chair, which makes a change from the usual one chair. The beds were comfy, two doubles. Our room seemed to be a bit dark, but we may have faced north?

We had problems with the free wifi, sometimes we could connect, but most often we couldn't, I completed a survey for the hotel and had mentioned this and the Assistant Manager emailed us appologising and stating that the hotel was in the proccess of installing a new state of the art wireless system, which would soon be up and running and would be much better and still complimentary!

The fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink area was in an area with sliding doors between the bedroom and the bathroom. The cleaner was very good, always leaving us plenty of coffee and toiletry supplies. The room was made up at various times of the day, but this didn't pose too much of a problem for us.
The bath/shower and loo was in a very small room, only room for one person, unless the other was in the shower/bath, however the shower had very good pressure considering we were on the third floor.

The main concern which caused me to give just an average score was the fact that even though we were in a quiet area of the hotel, some traffic noise could still be heard up until very late at night and from early in the morning. Also because all the rooms have external corridors and the doors don't seem to be very well insulated, noise can be heard from outside the room, other guests talking and some kids on occassion running about in the corridor. In future I would only stay in a hotel with internal corridors. Luckily I had packed ear plugs, but Walgreens across the road sell them. The air con was an individual unit controlled from the room, for cool or warm air and it could be turned off.

We had breakfast a couple of times at the hotel, the first time seemed better than the second, most of the time we went to Sizzlers, just across the parking lot, as it was slightly cheaper. We took a trolley to Golden Coral once and the selection and quality seemed to be a lot better, a lot tastier too. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, my personal favourite was the Brickhouse Tavern and Tap, which is walking distance, if it's not too hot or at an I Ride Trolley stop, but there are loads of eating establishments just over the road at the Point.

Room Tip: Email the hotel to request a quiet room.

Best Bits:

- Location (down the posher end of I-Drive but still within walking distance of Wet n Wild / Golden Coral etc)
- Cleanliness (rooms cleaned daily, sheets changed daily, spotless)
- Comfy Beds
- Room Facilities (microwave, coffee maker, iron & board, shower toiletries, large TV, free safe)

Worst Bits:

- None of the pools are heated - despite advertising to the contrary. Stayed during the last 2 weeks of November and managed to get in the pool once, for about 10 minutes before starting to go numb.

- Wifi - don't advertise it if it dosen't work please! It never worked for us, wherever we were in the hotel, at whatever time.

- Rooms - a god awful colour of snot yellow with dark brown furniture. Having an infant meant we had to spend a bit more time in the room than we normally would and having this to look at every night was bloody depressing!

- Restaurant - buffets are never up to much anyway, try Tony Romas or Bahama Breeze over the road

Overall: a very good hotel and unless you come across some specific problem, you won't have many complaints. Might try the Peabody over the road next time however......for 3 times the price though!

Room Tip: A & B blocks are closest to reception - most blocks are fine though, even the ones facing I-Driv...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 weeks in September and this hotel was the perfect base for us. Great location on international drive loads of bars shops in walking distance. Seaworld 5 mins Universal 10 mins and Disney 20 mins drive. I would definately recommend hiring a car - plenty of free spaces too - saw others queing daily for buses which could take over an hour to get to the parks a waste of your holiday if you ask me! Rooms fab fridge and coffee machine very helpful - if u have a car drive to Walmart for supplies 5 mins away much cheaper! Very comfy beds just what u need! And rooms cleaned and towels changed daily. We stayed in block f on a high floor which I was wasn't too keen on at first but gave great views and was very quiet. Would want to stay in this block again! Would definately stay here again was a great base great value and great rooms. Hopefully we can return in the future!

great hotel, very clean, great location. only complaint we had was the wifi was very poor and 99% of the time didn't work, sometimes it worked if you went & stood outside your room but who wants to do that every time they want to go online?! 2nd week it wouldn't even work properly in the reception, thought maybe our room was the problem but we were ground floor right beside reception & also spoke to several other guests who had same problem. fix this minor issue & it would be 10/10.
