“ideal for budget holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

we have been staying here every time we travel to florida . it meets all our requirements for a great budget hotel. we have stayed at other hotels near but have regretted it every time. its only basic but its close to everything so on a night there is things to do without driving . we have recommended it to friends and family and they only ever stay here also . even to the point of going three times a year . lucky for some.

Room Tip: high floor has nice good views of nightime life. point orlando opposite for a walk around on night w...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

We recently returned from 2 weeks at the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando (5-19 July) and this was our third time at this hotel - first time since the change of name/refurbishment. The hotel staff were all friendly and very helpful. The addition of the smoothie bar is a great idea and used on a daily basis. We thought the Zebra Sports Bar lacked any atmosphere, although if you have young children it is probably ideal after a day at the parks. We had breakfast in the hotel once - nothing horribly wrong with the food, other than you can get much better value in restaurants on International Drive. Our only problem was in connection with the pool (by Block B). We saw (day after day) the same people get in the pool area as soon it opened and put their towels on sunbeds .. and then disappeared all day long. Sometimes, they never returned to the pool until late afternoon - had obviously been at the parks all day and wanted to be sure they would get a sunbed when they returned! By 10.00am, generally all the beds/chairs had towels on them ... yet there were hardly any people around and so you had to go to one of the other pools to try and find a sunbed! Although this isn't down to the hotel, I do think that something should be done to discourage people doing this! If you want to go out all day, then leave the sunbeds to people who want to spend time around the pool!!
The hotel is in an excellent location and many restaurants / bars are all within easy walking distance - the Premium Outlets are a short bus ride away, as is Publix Supermarket - we do not have a car in Orlando and have never had any problems with tranpsort to the parks etc.
All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel - it is excellent value for money and has everything that you would expect from a hotel of this standard.

The hotel is very much improved since the last time we were there, everything has been renewed/replaced in the rooms. Hotel restuarant good for eating especially if you have kids under 10 who eat free with every adult. Had 2 dinners I there as it was so good. Thomson rep (Ashley) is very informed on the area and even gave us information on things we didn't know, but we have been to Orlando several times before. He is always there when he says he will be there and nothing is too much of a oroblem or a bother. Polite and helpful, just doesn't answer his emails when you get home for feedback.
Very central hotel on I:Drive if yo are going to Universal Group hotels, you do not need a car as shuttles, hopper bus and taxis are available.
Mears transportation available for Disney Parks if you don't want to drive, but at $19 per person for one round trip a day expensive and more than often unreliable. Ask the Thomson rep about the taxi deal that is available.
Towels provided at pools (and for water parks if you can sneak them out) and towels in rooms. Coffee machine, iron and board and microwave, flatscreen tv although limited channels.
Pointe Orlando a bit empty but has a smashing Holister. Premium Outlets (at hopper bus stop 1) better than the other one at the end of the hopper bus rout.
Kennedy Space Centre fabulous, but whatch who you book with as sometimes you are left to fend for yourselves (TC I think) we were lifted and returned to everywhere by Orlando Tiockets.com).
Disney Parks fine, just avoid the 2 water parks at the weekend as they are bursting at the seams and you can rarely get a seat and queue for nearly an hour for lunches etc.
Epcot great, new Phineus and Ferb sort of treasure hunt with mobile phones for kids and adults too well worth doing. Epcot fireworks spectacular and worth waiting to 9pm for.
Magic Kingdom not changed much, Hollywood Sutdios good, Animal Kingdom fab.
If at Rosen as for rooms 2214, 2314 in Block C as very much quieter and central for main building, pools etc.
NB don't take a taxi at the hotel reception, flag one down on the main road as it is half the price. Walmart Sand Lake Road is the better store, bigger and more choice but a more expensive taxi fare around $15-$20 each way.
Eat at Olive Garden 2 adults (stop 22), 3 coursed $25, Bahama Breezes (stop 22) bit more expensive but a change from your normal menu. Friendly's the best by miles for ice cream. Golden Corral (at stop 16) biggest and best value eating, but you may need to wait for a table.
Best crazy golf is Pirates (atope 20) or Congo (stop 9), avoid Hawaian with discount voucher as the course is needing fixed but is the cheapest at $5.99 each. Prices for golf ranges at $10.99 each, look for vouchers in discount books.

A must for parents with kids 12 and under take a kids eat free card or get one from your rep on respor, saves a fortune in dinners.

Room Tip: Room 2212, 2314 Block C for quietness

Second stay at this Hotel and apart from a small issue at check ( We asked for 2 rooms together ,they managed to give these away , it took 40 mins to get us sorted ) the visit was very good. Great Location on I-Drive across the road you have Pointe Orlando with Maggiano's being
excellent plus Millers Ale House and the New addition of Dave & Busters just a few minutes walk away. Would recommend this hotel and if we ever return to Orlando we would stay here again.

Just back from the Rosen inn @ pointe orlando from a 2 week stay. This was our first trip to Florida. Very little we could fault. 2 infact No. 1 air conditioning very noisy. 2 be aware that tax is added to everything which puts up the price(tax percentages seem to differ in places and are not added to the price tags on goods. you get told this when paying) Every staff member where helpful, polite and friendly. This review is how we felt and may not be to everyones agreement.
We had a great holiday. The hotel was clean and tidy from the enterance to the rooms and toilets and again all staff friendly and very polite and helpful. any repairs where done within the hour( the non working coffee maker and the hairdryer that gave up on the wife after about 5 days). The entertainment at night limited but okay. Special mention to Mark Good who did the karaoke who took time out to encourage the children to participate in the singing making them feel special and have fun especially my 7 year old and his new pal. The hotel we felt was central for trips to Universal and Disney and the use of the I-Drive buses($1.25 per adult children free) we where able to see alot of International Drive. we paid upfront to get unlimited use of these- got thru hotel). Disney and universal where brilliant. with us waivering to universal as the better of the parks. Be aware if you have to pay to get to any parks try not to use the reps or hotel buses, unless free, as they cost. (17 - 19 Dollars per person to get to Disney for each day you went. Universal was free at the rosen inn). If staying at the Rosen inn @ pointe Orlando or at any Int drive hotels get the I Drive to stop 29(outside the Doubletree hotel) then get the connecting Lynx bus to Disney(cost $2 per adult and $1 per child). It may take alittle longer to get there but no much longer and fraction of the cost. although you have to be back on Int Drive before 10.30 for last I Drive bus.
Remember to take your sun tan lotion and apply regular as even with factor 50 you could burn as we found out. also remember to get water proof ponchos because when it rains it rains. doesnt last for long though normally. if in the parks rides normally close not due to the rain all the time but the thunder and lightning which can be a spectacular. eating out can vary in prices but if you want a decent meal at reasonable price(seafood at a great price) go to Millers Ale House near the hotel. great selction of food and drink.
What I will say though is at the parks if you can go early and use the past pass tickets if you have them as queues can be upto 90 mins wait for getting on rides.

I've stayed at Rosen inn at Pointe Orlando for 10 nights and I have to say it was comfortable, clean, the heating was working properly as well as the coffee maker and microwave oven. Depending on the time you get in you will park far from the room but location is outstanding! Easy access to Universal and Disney parks and plenty of options when it comes to eataries. I would definetely come back and I do recommend it to friends.
