“Excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

We stayed in the Royal Palms in January 2014 and it was absolutely wonderful! The room was spacious, clean and had nice furnishings. The staff were all cheerful and helpful. My 2 and 4 year old had a good time playing on the small playgrounds on the property. The location could not be beat! We really enjoyed the proximity to the Disney property. Due to the location and excellent facilities we will definitely try to return for our next Disney trip!

While I love everything Disney and I still enjoy going to theme parks-- jumping on rides, catching events and parades, and capturing every photo op is not exactly a walk in the park. At the end of the day, you’re aching to go back to your hotel room to put your feet up. At Marriott’s Royal Palms, you not only have that bed to look forward to but a spacious 2-bedroom villa, with comfortable beds, living and dining areas, a fully equipped (and huge) kitchen, an enclosed outdoor patio, a laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer, and a jet stream tub in the masters bathroom.

Being out for most of the day, we never had a chance to explore or make use of the hotel’s facilities and amenities except for the MarketPlace Express, a convenience store right by the lobby. Arriving at 5am from a red-eye flight, it was certainly convenient to be able to pick up a few breakfast items. In your villa, they provide you with a few packets of coffee (no tea but being the finicky tea drinker that I am, I always bring my own). Plus a few things that you expect and are always great to have in villa type accommodations- like a small bottle of dishwashing soap, detergent for the dishwasher, paper towels, and laundry detergent (for 1 load). Since you don’t get housekeeping services (unless you request for it), you’re stocked with lots of towels and toilet paper. Of course, shampoo, conditioner, etc., but bring your own shower gel and bubble bath if you need it.

It didn’t seem like they had a restaurant on site but the Marriott World Center, to which they provide complimentary shuttles to, lists quite a few.

Our itinerary was to go to a different park each day. Our previous visit when we stayed at a Disney hotel offered the ease of having round the clock shuttles to take you to the parks. But this time we had a rental car plus MRP doesn’t offer shuttles. Which was not a big deal since the distance from the hotel to the parks is relatively short. Epcot-4.7 miles, Animal Kingdom-7.4 miles, Hollywood Studios-5 miles, Magic Kingdom, 5.7 miles, Universal Studios- 9.2 miles, Sea World-6 miles.

The Disney World and other theme parks vacation is loads of fun and worth every penny for my Disney loving kids, but it doesn’t fall into my most relaxing destination category. Thankfully, Marriott’s Royal Palms provided a welcome relief to the weary park goer.

This is one of the nicest time shares I've stayed in Orlando. The apartment was clean, spacious and beautifully furnished. The main pool was pleasant and never too crowded. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I would have happily given it 5 stars if not for a few minor issues. We arrived about 15 mins after the check in time and our apartment wasn't ready, so we went over to the World Center to kill some time. This is a nice place to kill time and the staff were incredibly apologetic about the
issue but it still shouldn't happen.
They like to mow the golf course in the early hours (pre-dawn) which didn't affect us too much as we are early risers but it was quite loud. If you are a light sleeper who likes a lie in be warned.
I would very happily stay here again though.

Sure, this is beautiful inside. Best timeshare I have ever stayed in for interior. Beautiful. Only makes me feel manipulated that they put the extra effort into the interior because they knew they were absolutely screwing you with the highway noise. I was moved to the room farthest from all roads and no one in our unit could sleep. With kitchen pots banging and conversation with all doors and windows closed, the noise can still be heard - even when you yourself are speaking. Outrageous

Room Tip: There is no good room - stay at Sabal Palms

Thank you for visiting Marriott's Royal Palms. We are disappointed your family was unable to fully enjoy their stay with us because of road noise. During the holidays, Orlando does see an increase in traffic due to the popular time of year. We thank you for bringing this to our attention and hope you will decide to visit us again in the future.

First of all, it's on the campus with 3 other Marriott Resorts, and that's great. But what really sets it apart is that it's adjacent to the Marriott World Center Mega-Hotel and you get to use all the complimentary amenities of the World Center for FREE. It (the MWC) has new waterslides and a pool the size of Rhode Island, complete with waterfalls and more slides.
In addition to all there is to do here outside your room, accommodations are Very Important. Some may say, who cares what the room looks like? We say, "We care very much what the room looks like." At the Royal Palms you just don't get a room, you get a complete villa, with every designer feature you can imagine, granite, flat screen TV's, beds so comfortable, you'll have to force yourself to get up in the AM, full kitchen, dining room, living room, lanai, etc. Extras here don't cost extra either. Some Orlando resort we have stayed at are worse than airlines nickel and diming your for everything -- WiFi, Parking, Shuttles, daily resort fees, air and more. Not here at Royal Palms all of those are included for FREE.
Decor is a little avant garde, which is very appealing. I won't give you a description of the special touches in your villa, but let us assure you, you will be delightfully surprised.
And the staff? This is a much smaller and more intimate resort than, some of the larger Marriott properties, so you get to know the staff at the Royal Palms, very quickly. And they become almost like old friends. They truly want to do everything possible to assure you a great vacation.
Miss Elisa, who managers the front desk, is a superstar and her teams are vibrant, attentive, professional and caring. She guides them very well. Say Hi to Jarred, Jose and Emily for us.
Lots to here and when you throw in the EXTRA amenities at the World Center (be sure to take the outside elevator ride from bottom to top, what a scenic thrill) this is a GEM that, if you have the opportunity to experience, we heartily recommend that you take advantage of.
We especially liked the gym overlooking the pool area. The resort is also right on the golf course which offers spectacular vistas. Close to Disney, and the other parks, too.

Room Tip: Villas are all nice, but the 2 villa complexes on the right, seem to have better views

First of all, let me begin by stating that the accommodations were lovely and the front desk service was excellent. However, my family and I chose to stay at this location on New Years Eve to celebrate safely and enjoy the amenities at the resort. At 10:20 p.m. we heard a knock at the door. It was security stating that we were being too loud. Please keep in mind, it was New Years Eve. I am very unhappy because my family was in no way being too loud. As a paying customer, I have the same rights as anyone else staying at the resort. We were listening to music on an IPOD and playing board games. After being visited by security, we then felt that we had to tip toe around our villa instead of fully enjoying the holiday as planned. I feel that management should have been more understanding of the special circumstances of the holiday, and given guests until after midnight on New Years Eve to acknowledge any noise complaints, (while I still do not feel that our unit was being too noisy in any way). I will be sure to choose another hotel to spend New Years Eve with my family next year.

Thank you for visiting Marriott's Royal Palms. We appreciate your feedback regarding your experience on New Year's Eve and apologize for your frustration. When our security team is made aware of a noise complaint, we do notify the other guest as a courtesy. The same level of service is provided on holidays as a consideration to our guests with young children. We thank you for your review and hope you decide to visit us again in the future.

My family and I stayed there over Christmas and it was a great experience. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The rooms are amazing with beautiful furniture and decorations. The kitchen is fully equipped and allows you to cook almost anything. Great place and I'd like to stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms by the lake have a great view and quiet surroundings.
